Chapter 684: Entering The Wormhole
Chapter 684: Entering The Wormhole
“Die.”
Rael’s words came out cold, but even so, the Grade 9 being in front of him didn’t really die.
Though blood gushed out of her nose like a waterfall, he knew his attempt wasn’t a complete dud.
However, the more she attacked, the more curious he became.
Because so far, he hadn’t taken even a single bit of damage.
Of course, that was because of his immortality, but he honestly didn’t expect it to make him invincible too.
Still, Rael wasn’t dissatisfied with this in the slightest as he continued testing all sorts of attacks against Autumn.
But after just a few hours of nonstop testing of the limits, Autumn realized that she couldn’t kill him.
And so, with a calculated move, she began running away.
Rael caught up to her in an instant and grabbed her by the neck.
Or he tried to anyway.
She broke his wrist.
It instantly regenerated, though.
But it made it clear to him that she was just a teeny tiny bit stronger than he was.
And so, the moment she tried to run away again, Rael decided to just end it.
He channeled all of his Laws into a single point in front of him.
They were far larger than last time, and that was likely because of the 1% increase in Law Mastery.
Though, without even a single beat of hesitation, he launched the Laws right at her.
Autumn turned around in an instant, and to Rael’s surprise, she lowered her sword, splitting the Laws in half and causing them to spiral in different directions.
None of which were right at her.
“Jeez… Can you just back off now?” Autumn complained. “You’re like an immortal ant.”
Rael’s brows twitched.
“You know I can keep doing this all day, right?”
Autumn shrugged.
“So can I.”
Yeah…
At times like these, Rael wasn’t sure what to do.
His stats were fairly high, and he had gained a lot of power as of late.
But someone at Grade 9 was still a little too much for him to fight.
Especially one that was about to become a Grade 10.
So, as Rael sighed helplessly, he decided to just try something else out.
He hadn’t used his Mind skills in a while.
And so, by focusing on the retreating Autumn, Rael quickly cast Marionette Dominion.
In an instant, his vision darkened, and he reappeared inside Autumn’s Mind Realm.
To his surprise, her Mind Realm was quite well developed, as there were countless cities, stars, and oceans scattered around.
As for her, she was in her cocoon.
Rael approached it, but right as he was about to place his hand on it, the cocoon burst open as Autumn stepped out of it.
Frowning, she glared at him.
“You’re a nuisance. Get out of my mind.”
“I’d love to. But as you can probably tell, I find myself in a bit of a bind now, since you know about me,” Rael replied.
Autumn rolled her eyes and, with a thought, summoned thousands of large spears above her.
<Autumn, Goddess of Victory’s Mental Integrity: 99,488% → 99,192%>
The spears descended toward Rael, but he didn’t panic as he dispelled the spears instantly.
It cost a lot, but Rael didn’t care, as the next thing he did cost a lot more.
Chains wrapped around Autumn’s limbs, and soon enough, a giant cage descended, trapping her inside.
The cage was reinforced to the point where, no matter how much she struggled, she wouldn’t be able to break free.
And Rael estimated it would take her at least a few years to get out.
But since time flowed differently in here, he would at most have a few seconds in reality.
“Since it looks like I can’t kill you, I’ll just trap you for a teeny tiny bit. See you in a bit, Autumn.”
With those words, Rael vanished from her Mind Realm.
In the next instant, he reappeared back in space.
He hovered in front of the stunned Autumn, and by creating a crack in space, he tossed her through it.
Then, Rael closed the crack, and just like that, continued heading toward the wormhole.
He was sure she’d get back soon enough, so he didn’t hesitate to pick up his pace.
There were a couple more people who had their eyes on him, but none of them approached.
Perhaps they thought no one could get this far without being killed.
And so, when he finally arrived in front of the giant wormhole, he halted.
Anything I should know before I go in? Rael asked.
[Nothing. Just be aware that there might be a few monsters inside. However, I believe Anna can help you out,] she replied.
Oh? Anna is going to help me? Rael mused. I’ve not seen her in action yet aside from that one time…
That time when the two fought against each other.
Nonetheless, he didn’t dislike the help.
So, as he took one step closer to the wormhole, he suddenly felt a powerful presence approaching from a very far distance.
It was Autumn, and she was heading straight for him.
Just then, the nearby Ancient Primordials went on full alert and glanced over at Rael.
But by then, he had already stepped right into the wormhole.
His vision was assaulted by thousands of colors, and it felt like his body was being twisted and pulled apart.
But by keeping himself in check with his Laws, Rael successfully made his way inside.
And what greeted him the moment his vision settled was a seemingly never-ending flower field.
It was a beautiful sight indeed.
It only took him a few seconds to find a giant tree root in the distance, and he guessed that was where he had to go.
But upon noticing that a few of the flowers were cut and stomped on, Rael knew he wasn’t in this place alone.
Just then, he felt a slight chill on his back.
Yet as he turned around, he spotted a little Solenne standing in front of him.
This person was none other than Anna.
Her complexion seemed a lot better than the last time he saw her.
He smiled at her.
“Let’s find Gaia, shall we?”
