Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 687: Heavenly Slash

Chapter 687: Heavenly Slash

“Anna…”

“Yes, I know.”

She turned toward him and flashed a smile.

“There have been several along the way who have found out about us. It’s only now that one of them has decided to show themselves. How do you wish to proceed?”

Rael stared at her blankly.

There were multiple people?

His senses should be off the charts, so why exactly couldn’t he tell anything?

He was a little frustrated by that fact.

After all, with so many Laws, he was doing an awfully bad job of utilizing all of them.

Regardless of that, though, he simply patted Anna on the back.

“For now, let’s keep going. Making a move in such a crowded place would warrant a lot of casualties. While I might not know these people, I don’t want to ruin everything that they’ve achieved thus far.”

And those were his honest thoughts.

“I see. In that case, should we step out of the tree root and proceed the rest of the way from the outside?”

Rael nodded at her.

Just like that, she finished the rest of her food, and without hesitation, the two of them stepped out of the massive tree root. After flying for a few minutes, they arrived atop it.

It had become much larger than when they first entered it.

But the surroundings and the people had also become more advanced.

The closer to Yggdrasil, the better everyone lived, it seemed.

However, Rael couldn’t even take five steps forward when, all of a sudden, someone appeared in front of him.

It was a man with long white hair, wielding a katana.

His expression was certainly intimidating, and when Rael inspected him, he saw something interesting.

—Chunma, The Heavenly Demon [Grade 10 Apocalypse Class | Level 149,840] – Vitality: Tier 100 (MAX) [100% / 100% HP]

The Heavenly Demon? As in those guys that are the most powerful in murim? he wondered. That’s a little funny… But he’s also really, really strong.

“Hey there,” Rael said. “Can we talk this out like some gentlemen? I’m sure you don’t want to bloody that beautiful katana of yours.”

“…”

“Blood is what feeds my katana. I was sent here to kill you, not to negotiate. Therefore, prepare yourself.”

Rael sighed, and to his surprise, his Foresight suddenly blacked out.

When he glanced back at Chunma, Rael realized that he had already entered his fighting stance.

The moment he unsheathed his blade, Anna stepped forward.

Sparks suddenly ricocheted all over the place, some even hitting Rael and slightly piercing his skin.

When he glanced over at Anna, however, he realized that she was totally unscathed.

Even Chunma was slightly amused.

However, Chunma seemed to be a little more than what met the eye.

All of a sudden, he slashed his blade, and for a single fraction of a second, Rael’s Foresight picked up on the outcome.

Anna would get split into two.

Acting out of instinct, he pushed Anna aside and took the attack with his own body.

Yet he definitely didn’t expect the attack to pierce straight through his arm, lopping it off.

As it floated in the air, Chunma struck once more, disintegrating the arm, and then struck again, aiming for Rael’s head.

But by then, Rael had already gotten his shit together and realized what was happening.

And he did so very easily.

<Ding!>

<Ding!>

Heavenly Slash: Pour into the pure concepts of Laws and slash them toward your opponent. Power scales by the number of Laws infused, Law mastery, and your base stats.

Rael was immediately left speechless by how easy it was.

He saw the attack once.

And yet, here it was, now fully his.

Since Rael still had the Stone Slab equipped from a while ago, every attack he made counted as a sword slash too.

Which meant he could use this attack as well.

But for starters, Rael decided to give Chunma a taste of his own medicine.

Rael took a step forward, then another.

He began moving so fast that, within seconds, Chunma was forced to lower his katana slightly.

And that was because the gravity weighing down on him was just that extreme.

<Ding!>

<1,048,576x Gravity has been inflicted on the opponent!>

Although Rael wanted to do it once more, he felt like his body would literally burst like a balloon if he tried it.

So instead, he stood still and quickly raised his arm.

Even though Chunma was facing the same amount of gravity as Rael, he seemed to hold himself a little firmer.

So much so that he managed to raise his katana once more.

But Rael didn’t care.

He infused every single Law he knew into his hand when, all of a sudden, a silver, aura-like sharp blade appeared from the tips of his fingers.

When he felt like he had gathered enough power, Rael simply slashed down with all his might.

The world seemed to come to a halt.

Even Chunma, who was in the midst of blocking the attack, suddenly froze.

Anna wasn’t moving either.

Yet in the midst of all of this, Rael’s aura-like slash kept on moving, tearing space and time apart as it neared Chunma’s throat.

The moment it cut into his skin, a black energy burst forth like a raging fire.

But soon enough, that fire began to twist and turn into a variety of colors. All the while, Chunma’s neck was the epicenter of it all.

It all happened so fast.

When time finally resumed once more, the slash simply returned to normal and continued traveling forward, appearing as though it would never stop.

Rael ignored the slash and instead focused on Chunma.

Black blood was gushing from the left side of his neck.

But more importantly, his eyes had already lost all color.

Before long, he eased his grip on his blade, and the moment it hit the ground, Chunma buckled to his knees, falling like a limbless ragdoll.

Before Rael could even start to process what had just happened, a bunch of pop-ups appeared in front of him.

<Ding!>
