Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 696: Strange World

Chapter 696: Strange World

After setting Anna on the right path and walking side by side, the two finally arrived at what appeared to be a surprisingly small tree amidst this strange realm.

Though even if that tree was small, Rael could feel so much mana radiating from it that he was left slightly stunned for a moment.

Regardless of that, the path that Gaia showed told him to head straight into that tree.

It reminded him of that wizard book where one had to run into a wall to get to the secret area.

Maybe that was what he had to do here?

So, with reignited passion, Rael kicked off the ground and, with a confident gaze, ran straight into the tree.

However…

BONK!

He hit his head on the tree and saw a bit of blood pour down.

Embarrassed, Rael stood up and glanced over at Anna, who was staring at him with a blank expression.

As for Gaia…

[I won’t ask what was going through your mind at that moment… But just place your hand on the tree instead of running into it, please?]

“…Yep.”

Rael did just that.

And in the next instant, his consciousness felt like it was being moved to another place.

Since Gaia personally vetted this place, Rael didn’t bother to resist, and so, within just a few seconds, he was standing in a surprisingly beautiful forest.

The sky and everything else reminded him of Earth.

It was overly normal for what was supposed to be an abnormal realm.

Regardless of that, Anna soon reappeared behind him, sporting the same confused expression as him.

“Gaia, I’m not seeing any more paths here,” Rael said, glancing around.

Yet even after waiting a few seconds, no response came.

He was a bit puzzled at first, but then he remembered that she mentioned if she was close enough, she could try to find her own body and revive it.

So if that was what she was doing, Rael would wait patiently.

“These trees are quite sturdy,” Anna remarked.

Once he turned toward her, he realized she was sawing a tree with her arm.

His eyes widened, but before he could approach and stop her, the tree fell.

And almost as though a chain reaction had been made, another tree collapsed, then another…

Within just a few seconds, hundreds of trees were gone, all because Anna couldn’t contain her curiosity.

As for Rael, he stared at the sight with a blank expression, knowing full well how much Gaia loved her nature.

But alas…

He was going to throw Anna under the bus anyway.

“S-Say, Anna. How about we look for something else other than the trees, hm?”

She turned to him, then nodded.

“Okay.”

“Good. Good… Let’s go then.”

With Anna now walking beside him, Rael proceeded to finally leave the area where he arrived.

He flew up a little, and so did Anna.

That was when Rael suddenly spotted something in the distance.

He wasn’t sure if his eyes were deceiving him or not, but he could swear that was a modern-day building, perhaps part of what appeared to be a modern-day city.

Anna and he exchanged a glance.

Even though she hadn’t been with him for long, she could still siphon off his memories.

So she knew very well just what kind of place this was.

“Perhaps you can buy me a car instead of an armor set?” Anna suggested.

Rael raised a brow.

“Is that a joke?”

“…”

It didn’t seem like she was joking.

“Do you really want a car?”

“Yes. Perhaps if this is the world you are familiar with, I can get one of those expensive models that drive very fast. Wait, must I have a license to drive?”

For a moment, Anna’s expression sank.

So Rael reassured her.

“Not if you drive it on another world. Most of the people elsewhere won’t even know what a car is, and they might just think you’re driving a fancy carriage.”

She nodded.

“That makes sense. Very well then, get me two Lamborghini chariots.”

“Cars?”

“Ah. Yes, cars.”

Rael rolled his eyes at her behavior, and after mustering up the courage, he finally flew toward the city in the distance.

It didn’t take long for the two of them to arrive.

And as they stared down at the city from above, Rael, in particular, was pleasantly surprised.

There were a bunch of people running around and taking selfies, driving cars, and even selling street food.

More importantly, not too far away from him, there was a sight he had only had the luxury of viewing on the internet.

The Eiffel Tower.

“Haha…”

We’re really on Earth, aren’t we? But what could Gaia be doing here? Rael pondered. Did she actually die on some basic planet… But why is the route to this planet through Yggdrasil and not just from direct teleportation?

This was what irked him the most.

Because he was sure that this planet was Earth, and what he was staring at was the Eiffel Tower.

But something still didn’t sit right with him.

However, as those thoughts swirled around in his mind, Anna and he suddenly locked eyes.

Before he could even give the proposal, she did instead:

“Should we check out your home country to see whether or not you are here?”

Rael nodded immediately.

This looked like a different world compared to the one whose time he had frozen.

So, with that in mind, Rael and Anna slowly made their way over to South Korea.

As much as he wanted to move at light speed, he felt like he might accidentally destroy the planet if he did that.

After all, unlike the fantasy worlds, this world didn’t have any natural protection.

So him moving a little bit over the limit might just accidentally create a black hole.

And since that wasn’t what he wanted, he spent the next two hours calmly flying toward South Korea, and once he overlooked Seoul, Rael closed his eyes, aiming to find himself or even his sister among the people.
