Chapter 737 737: Small Bonks
Chapter 737 737: Small Bonks
It didn't take long for Rael and Nyx to arrive at the other side.
Though... seeing the destroyed space battlefield with several asteroids circling it and crashing down every now and again, Rael felt a little intimidated.
After all, the mana here was a lot stronger than he had anticipated.
Way, way stronger.
Even so...
<Ding!>
<You have entered: Graveyard Of The Gods [Grade 10 Level 100,000]>
<Notice: Your level is far too low to be here. Please leave the area.>
No thanks.
Rael had already set foot here, and he even saw some shadowy figures a couple dozen kilometers away, so he knew that it wouldn't exactly be cool of him to dip now.
So instead, Rael did yet another stretch and finally stepped forward, crossing dozens of kilometers in an instant and arriving before the shadowy figures he had seen.
They looked like massive black ravens. In place of their eyes were purple flames, and of course, since Rael got so close to them, they immediately spotted him.
—Bird of Death [Grade 9 Calamity Class | Level 19,889] - Vitality: Tier 66 [100% / 100% HP]
—Bird of Death [Grade 9 Calamity Class | Level 22,489] - Vitality: Tier 68 [100% / 100% HP]
Before Rael could even process what was happening, the birds flapped their wings, causing his body to be overwhelmed by a sudden pressure that nearly made him bend the knee.
<Ding!>
<Perfect Adaptability has been triggered!>
<You have copied: Life Drain (Celestial)>
<Abilities> Life Drain (Celestial): Focus on your opponent and drain 5% of their total HP per second.
Haaa?
These fucking birds were zapping away his HP?
He regenerated it so fast that he didn't even notice.
Moreover, it seemed like these birds could also bypass his immortality and invincibility in a way.
But since they were confident in sucking him off until he was dead, Rael decided to do some target practice.
—School of Doom:
Summon 100,000 spectral fish that swarm enemies. Deals minor damage but causes immense visual chaos and interrupts spellcasting.
(Cost: 500,000,000 DTP | CD: 5 minutes)
[DTP -500M | 3.000 Quadrillion / 3.000 Quadrillion [+3.000 Quadrillion Excess] (x1 School of Doom)]
In an instant, a massive barrage of fish emerged from in front of him, cracking the space around each one as they surfed the skies like waves and bombarded the Birds of Death with their cute little tails.
They weren't supposed to do much damage.
Really.
But when Rael realized that one fish was enough to slightly push back a Bird of Death, his eyes widened, forcing him to peek on over into his status.
And of course...
-55,094,984,085,099,055,420,003,023,001,023,990,114,445! [55.094 Tredecillion] / Vitality Tier 35 Damage | Critical Hit!
What in the fuck.
Rael rubbed his eyes to make sure he was seeing it right.
Sure, he had turned off this damage shit a while ago since he didn't really feel the need for it.
But seriously?
A single fish did that much damage?
He hadn't even begun testing the actual big boy hits, so... just what could he expect?
The baseline should be Vitality Tier 40 Damage...
But maybe it would be higher?
Rael's heart pumped in excitement as he watched all of his fishies bounce around the ugly ravens and beat their ass.
Obviously, they weren't really beating their ass.
To Vitality Tier 66 and 68, the fishies were basically giving them a nice little massage.
Though, they were doing it in style since they pushed the ravens a little bit.
Huffing in satisfaction, Rael decided to test out another skill, something a little on the weaker side.
Or was it?
Rael stared down at the Birds of Death as they finally warded off all the fishies.
Then, instead of their life-sucking ability, they went with something simple.
Conjuring up black feathers, they hurtled them toward Rael.
The feathers seemed sharp and definitely powerful, so Rael decided to test two things at once.
The first...
He slowed down the time of one of the feathers and approached the second feather.
Extending his arm, Rael waited for the feather to pierce through his skin, only for it to hit his palm and simply stay there, as if a barrier was blocking it.
He moved his palm aside, and the feather immediately zipped past at a ridiculous speed, eventually leaving his vision.
So the immortality and other stuff still worked, at least.
But it seemed like as long as someone wasn't directly hitting him, he could still take damage.
As interesting as it was, Rael opted to try the second idea.
Right as the second feather was about to hit, Rael's figure blurred as he activated one of his old school skills and reappeared behind one of the Birds of Death.
<[Phase] has been triggered!>
<Your next attack deals 300% more damage>
Rael was a little surprised, in all honesty.
Even though he had gotten fast beyond belief, it seemed like when the skill said it was teleportation, it really was instant teleportation.
Raising his hand, Rael eventually brought it down with full force, slapping the Bird of Death across its beak, causing a powerful shockwave to resound as the Bird of Death vanished out of sight, breaking the sound barrier thousands of times, and reappearing a few kilometers away, embedded into one of the asteroids floating around this ruined battlefield.
"Yikes..."
That was definitely more powerful than the fishies.
And upon seeing the final damage calculation, Rael was right on the mark.

A simple melee hit, enhanced by 300% more damage, and then an extra 64x on top of that... among several other increases, really bumped him up a notch.
But then again, because of how non-law influenced damage worked, even with such a big bonk, the Bird of Death was still fine and dandy.
Rael really wanted to infuse some of his Laws and do one big bonk... but that was a little too soon.
After all, there was still one more skill he wanted to try out.
