Chapter 924: Offer?
Chapter 924: Offer?
The next couple of days went by… very masochistically.
She did say the experiments would be fun, but Rael didn’t think that being blasted with Anti Magic and then forced to shit himself… yeah, it wasn’t exactly fun.
On the flip side though, Rael was happy that she had closed off the realm and stopped time, which made everything that they were currently doing not that bad.
And of course, by the end of it, and by the time Rael’s neck had been snapped for the 50th time, they were finally done.
She snapped her fingers, unfreezing time. As for Rael, he coughed once, healing his injuries, and then glanced at her.
“Happy with the torture you call fun?”
She wiped her hands, then nodded. “It’s a bit of information. For one, I can tell your soul is very pure. It had been damaged several times before, though. All those times, it had rejuvenated by itself.”
With those words, she took a step to his left, and then began walking in a circle as she continued listing several facts about him.
“As you said, your soul is definitely not young. You have spent many years in the Mind Realm, many years in places where time doesn’t move, and I take it you haven’t synced your age in a while, right?”
“Mhm,” Rael agreed. “I should be a few million years old by now. Maybe a few billion. I haven’t really been keeping track.”
“Yeah, your soul is far older than that,” Isolde assured. “It’s easily in the trillions of years. Maybe several hundred eons. I’d guess your soul is as old as mine, except for the fact that during those many years I can sense, there’s not much going on. Only thoughts, which I have no access to.”
Hmm…
So according to her, Rael was just idling by for eons. That seems to add up with what the Supreme Beast had said. It added up way too well, in fact, to the point Rael was a little bit confused how Renoir managed to get his hands on that information too.
After all, strong he may be, that wasn’t enough by any means.
“So I’m old as shit then, huh?” Rael mused. “Also, back when I was still looking through stuff and figuring out the Memory Record, I was supposed to meet a Guardian. Even Tiamat had the same idea… Tiamat had a Guardian that gave her more access to the system, so don’t I have one as well?”
Obviously, when Rael had gone there to the Far Lands, the only person he met was the Supreme Beast. There was no Guardian. More importantly, the messages from the system had stopped shortly after that, which led Rael to believe that the Supreme Beast had been cosplaying as his Guardian all that time.
It wouldn’t be too far-fetched.
“You shouldn’t have one. Guardians aren’t even real. If I had to guess, Tiamat had been testing her theory whether or not you actually have some Guardian or just someone in her ear. She likely didn’t tell you since she wanted to tease you. But if you want to understand more, you should probably pay her a visit one of these days.”
Novelnice∙comWith that, it seemed like she was done explaining. That was until she suddenly paused.
“Also, I did seem to feel that you have the Law of Infinity. Have you ever considered becoming one of the Universal Concept Ambassadors?”
Rael rolled his eyes. “I didn’t even know what they were up until the moment you came here. On that note though, is that everything? Or do you have something else you want to point out?”
“I had wanted to hand out an invite to you to join us, but after I saw how little determination you have for everything in life… I had decided to withdraw it. Though, I also did realize that you were planning to invade our realm, so I’d like you to know if you tried that, you will be killed instantly.”
She tapped him on the shoulder.
“As you are now, you must get at least several thousand times stronger if you want to even try getting some answers out of the great beings. I will be visiting you again tomorrow, but until then, do pay a visit to Tiamat. I am sure she knows a little more about this situation than I do.”
Isolde smiled. “After all, while I might be ancient, all powerful, and smart, I do not have all the answers in the universe. Especially regarding beings like you that had gone unnoticed by me for so many eons. Take care, and prepare for my arrival tomorrow.”
With those words, she once again vanished. This time, she made her presence even more clear than before, to the point where Rael managed to find the exact location she used to enter that strange realm of hers.
He made sure to save that location for the future, and right after, Rael relaxed for a moment. He didn’t really get much out of this whole interaction, except for the fact that he was old as shit.
In the end, he felt like the only reason she did this was so she could probe him whenever she wanted. For that reason alone, Rael felt like finishing things fast and doing a bit of training.
According to her, he was at the level of a High God. And since she mentioned he needed to get thousands of times stronger, Rael assumed all he needed to do was practice his Laws.
But then again…
He had a lot of perks, and especially, the Premium Evolution perk he hadn’t used in quite some time.
Rael thought of going back to his roots, in the sense that he would stack up millions of bonuses.
“Right…”
There was also the bonus Rael had completely forgotten. He could first add the items he wanted to buy from the Premium Shop into his cart, then eventually combine them, producing something overpowered.
So what if Rael just bought something that could boost the power of his Laws on top of the already existing boost he had from a perk of his?
Heh.
There’s a lot to do.
