Chapter 954 954: New Goal
Chapter 954 954: New Goal
"You're missing the point entirely... Rael, we're not fighting anyone. Even if they want to fight us, we can just avoid it. Trust me on this, the only people who can fight us are the Ambassadors, and I can deal with every single one of them effortlessly."
Then, she turned over to Nyx. "As for you, don't cause any trouble either. Despite you looking so innocent, I know you've been spreading your mana all throughout that realm, trying to make others find it easier... I know what you're doing, but just stop. It won't help any of us."
Nyx shrugged at those words. "If they have other people to take care of, then they have no reason to actually fight us, do they? While the Concepts and the other side are duking it out, we can take initiative and escape. Speaking of, can't we just enter the Void Realm? I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any traces of the Abyss."
Sadly for her, she was wrong. She must've forgotten, but last time, when they were in the Far Lands and went far enough, they managed to reach the point in the Void Realm where the Abyss broke through.
That was probably how Renoir managed to get such a high degree of understanding over the Abyss and how to control it. But oh well, Rael knew that, at the end of the day, his future self would handle it.
His current self, on the other hand, was in the midst of not doing anything.
It really did seem like there wasn't anything left for him. Though, despite everything that happened, Rael was kind of tempted to enter the Akashic Records, since he felt like there might be a reason why they were created, rather than existing just for others.
But then again, in the back of his mind, Rael also felt like the reason the previous being who created the system lost his mind was because he had entered the Akashic Records and saw something he wasn't supposed to.
So what if, instead of visiting that place, Rael went ahead and destroyed it? It would definitely be a big spectacle, and he was sure that with such a thing gone from the universe, the people who supposedly caused this accidental birth of his—
It would also be fun to destroy the system, just to see what kind of reaction he'd get. Honestly... Rael had way too many opportunities and choices.
In a way, that was his final goal. Parenthood would come after, but that was more so after all the danger was eliminated.
So of course, Rael decided to set his sights on this final task, and he decided to start it off by asking Gaia one simple question.
"Do you know where the Akashic Records are?"
"No," she replied instantly.
Rael raised a brow. "I can sense the lie, you know?"
"I think she means we're not telling you because we know what you're planning to do," Nyx said matter-of-factly, crossing her arms. "You're planning to storm some kind of library and destroy it. Do you think it'll really go as you think? What if you get pulled inside that place, and then become like the others?"
Having women who could read his mind was both a blessing and a curse. A blessing, because he rarely had to explain himself. A curse, because he could never hide anything from them.
He was lucky that Zafira and Lilith couldn't read his mind too. Regardless of that though, Rael was determined to go through with this, and the two women obviously knew that too.
Therefore, Rael waited patiently, staring into their eyes carefully. The moment they blinked in unison, Rael vanished out of sight, reappearing tens of galaxies away.
As for the connection in his mind that he had with the two of them, Rael enveloped it in mana and hid it away, not allowing them to talk in his mind or track him. As for the traces of mana, he didn't leave any. He didn't use a single bit of mana to traverse this far, since all Rael really needed was his raw speed.
Anyhow, he was sure that, at the rate Gaia moved, she could search 100 nearby galaxies within 5 seconds, so he continued moving out of her range, eventually reaching a distance of several million galaxies away from Celestara.
And at this rate, it would take Gaia hours to find him, since he constantly changed course and didn't just move in one direction.
The only caveat was that Gaia and Nyx knew where to look, since they knew he would be heading straight to the Akashic Records. And that was precisely what Rael was looking for. He wanted them to go there, since that way, he wouldn't need to ask around and reveal his intentions.
Instead, all he needed to do was wait a little, then restore the connection and go to them. There was a very big chance they were expecting this though, so Rael wanted to play it safe.
For starters, could he find the Akashic Records himself, if he were to try just a little? Judging by their importance and what Tiamat had told him, he might have a faint clue.
The Beginning of the Universe. That was where a portal should be, with the passage to the Akashic Records. But where could he find such a place? The last one, regarding the High Tower, was in the Abyss, so could this one be in there too? Did he even know how to navigate the Abyss?
Rael groaned in annoyance, feeling like a headache was slowly forming. There was one person he could turn to, and that person was probably busy reconciling with his wife.
Renoir.
He would definitely know where such a place was. He might even know more about the Concepts than anyone else.
So in the end, it seemed like Rael's rash decision had led him on one simple path, and that was to visit Renoir once more.
