Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 973: Another Multiverse?

Chapter 973: Another Multiverse?

Approaching the powerful presence was a tough task, since it seemed like that presence was constantly running away from them. Though, before long, they managed to track it down, and by the looks of things, it was some kind of spaceship.

Rael was a bit geeked out, not in the drug sense, but more so in excitement. He had always wanted to see some kind of alien spaceship. But he was greatly disappointed when he realized that the spaceship was manned by a bunch of humans.

On the flip side though, each of those humans was at least Grade 8, which meant they were relatively strong, all things considered. So with that in mind, Rael went ahead and entered the spaceship through what he presumed was some kind of emergency exit.

And when they entered, they saw some kind of human just walking around with a notepad in his hands. Except when that human saw Rael and Gaia, his expression paled considerably. Just then, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny gun.

Rael didn’t expect much, honestly, even when his hand rose to the trigger, Rael felt nothing. However, when Rael’s foresight suddenly saw his head being pierced, he instinctively raised his hand, snapping the neck of the man in front of him and watching as he began bleeding out.

Gaia, who saw this from the side, tilted her head slightly.

"Couldn’t you have just... You know, immobilized him?"

"That gun was able to injure me somehow," Rael replied plainly. "Do you think this universe has some kind of technological advancement to counter powerful beings?"

"Well, that didn’t work, did it? You kind of killed him?" Gaia pointed out the obvious.

But as the nice guy that Rael was, he went ahead and snapped his fingers, using his Arch Angel special stat, which allowed him to revive just about anyone. And of course, when the man woke up, fine and not with a snapped neck, he once again glanced up in panic.

Except this time, no matter how many times he reached for his gun, it wasn’t there. Instead, it was in Rael’s grasp. He inspected it pretty well, and honestly, he was impressed. Very impressed.

There were some miniature cartridges inside of the magazines, and each one had the compressed force of a black hole. Essentially, this worked like some kind of anti-magic bullet, since the moment one shot it, they basically shot a compressed black hole.

But how did these people manage to harvest black holes and use them for stuff like this? Rael really wanted to know.

Though, before he could get too excited about the prospect, Rael only had enough time to store this gun inside his inventory before a bout of lasers was unleashed from all sides, powerful enough to pierce through his body once more.

Except before they could even get near him, Gaia summoned a few branches, which caught every single one of those lasers. In the next instant, she went ahead and sent every single one of those lasers back where they came from, destroying all those defensive machines.

And of course, that was the last straw for the man on the ground, who finally decided to talk things out instead of being a sissy bitch.

"H-Hey... Who are you people? Why are you on our ship?"

Rael raised a brow. "You talk pretty human too. Say, how do you guys make these kinds of weapons? Who makes them, actually?"

The man stared at Rael for a moment, his expression souring a little. "I talk human, since I am human. You also seem human, so what are you doing? Shouldn’t you be on our side?"

"Now now, don’t ignore the question about the weapons. Tell me about them. Now," Rael said.

"Um... They’re proton blasters? We compress atoms way past their normal capacity and induce a reverse gravity effect. I don’t know any more... This is all I remember from my textbooks, I promise," he replied.

That seemed solid enough, and in all honesty, it was Rael’s fault for asking some random crew member about this stuff. But oh well, the guns were interesting, and Rael was planning to bring a few of them back to his universe, so in spite of everything, Rael decided to learn a bit more.

So he used a bit of his mana to whisk this guy upward, surprising him slightly. Then, Rael said:

"Lead me to your captain. Also, what did you mean by our side? What other side is there?"

The man’s brows twitched. Still, he recognized the danger Rael and Gaia emitted. Especially Gaia. She looked like some innocent empress on the outside, but on the inside, she was like a deadly thorn that could erase half of this universe in the blink of an eye.

And so, while slowly leading Rael and Gaia to his captain, he began explaining what other side there was.

"There’s um... There’s a side in our universe that we refer to as Eldritch. It’s primarily spiritual beings, beings we can’t see. They appear out of thin air and cause so much havoc. They can attack us from anywhere in the universe too... It’s terrible. Humanity would’ve been wiped out two million years ago had these beings actually taken us seriously."

He clenched his fists.

"But no... To them, we’re just toys. To them, we’re just powerless beings. Even our most powerful Grade 10s were instantly killed by the Eldritch beings. But with this new weapon technology, we hope that we can actually combat them. So we’re looking for them... You’re not on their side, are you?"

Hmm...

Well.

Rael wasn’t quite sure how to answer.

This guy was basically describing how Rael’s body worked when he dematerialized himself. So in a sense, he was a part of the cool kids club too, but also not really. He wasn’t much into nonsensical genocide, after all.

So with that in mind, Rael decided to clear things up.

"Nope. Don’t know them."
