Sam listened in silently as Kumar and Baryn signed a soul contract.

From the discussion, he could guess that Kumar’s mission is to make sure that the child stays safe and within the hands of Magman clan. Which is contradictory to Sam’s own mission. This means they are going to clash.

Sam started thinking about how to proceed with this.

One way to go about this is to fight the battle head-on. The defense in Magman clan about these children is already very tight.

From what Maya said, even Baryn might be barely eligible to see his own child. If his guess is right, Sam would have to clash with the clan head of the magman clan to safely escort the kid out. But after second thought, he took head-on clash out of the question.

He really might need to clash head-on. But it would be better to choose the location and time of the clash wisely.

He needs to make sure that he has all the advantages in the world if he is going to clash with them.

But to draw out such a conclusion from this, he needs to think of a way.

After that, he went into the clan grounds and started making a few preparations. One of them is to prepare a residence for Kumar. He placed that right in between his father’s place and the place where the Kid is staying.

This way, Kumar could be easily monitored.

After arranging that, he did a few of his tasks as the clan’s young master and finally he went to meet the child and his father at the same time.

“Father, is this really okay? I can understand being fed by neutral elves with wood element, but ice elves have too much ice elemental energy. Would the child be having any adverse effects?”

“No. I already did my research. Even though many people say that kids are born with their innate talent and elemental affinity, from what I learned, affinity can be controlled. Based on what elements they came into contact with since they are kids, their affinities will also be triggered.

Breastfeeding is one of the great ways to contact different elemental energies at a very intricate level.

Baryn didn’t reply to that and just sighed. He then thought for a moment and spoke.

“I got the deal signed by that outsider named Kumar, I arranged his residence just as you suggested, I will bring him back after this meeting is over.”

“Good.”

“I also sent people to investigate this guy named Sam. I don’t really know if we are going to get in concrete info, but until now all the reports we received don’t have anything on him.”

“It’s fine, keep on searching. I don’t believe it is a coincidence that a talented and capable person came looking for us saying that the child is going to be kidnapped right after one of the children has gone missing.

There should be an anomaly here. Make sure that you leave no stone unturned.”

“Yes, father.”

“Also, start looking for that person named Sam in our cities. If what Kumar said is true, there is a chance that he might appear here also. After all, we are the closest target after the last one. There is a high probability that he is here.

Get his feature description from Kumar or an image will be good and start searching for him. Don’t do it openly though. As soon as he arrives in our territory we should know instantly.

Baryn left and went back to Kumar. Sam’s shadow came back with all the collected information.

Sam isn’t really surprised by the measures taken by them. They are within his scope of estimation. He is glad that he knew about the information regarding their search though. Sam immediately started disguising himself.

First, he took off his black attire and replaced it with some tan and brown clothing. He then used a face mask which is full of special inscriptions that gave out an illusion of a completely different face.

Sam is now a completely different person.

In fact, he used his spatial ability to get out of the inn and come back in his disguise before taking a new room. Since he already openly came here as Sam, he decided to use that to stir up the pot a bit.

He waited in his new room and soon Kumar was taken away by Baryn to the clan grounds. After that, Sam let his shadows and ghosts loose. Baryn already gave instructions to everyone to search for Sam, so he used shadows and ghosts to mark everyone inside that network.
