Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 1914: Never-Ending Swarm

Chapter 1914: Never-Ending Swarm

A beast tide has started and it is not just coming from one direction.

It is coming from all the directions and the range is far beyond the forest that they are currently in. Sam felt a bit frustrated with this. Currently all of his beasts are under different tasks. So, this means, he can only use his puppets, undead and spectres to deal with the beasts outside the forest.

In fact, he did exactly that.

There are a lot of puppets that he hadn't used in a while. He even set out the puppet legions that had used before. These puppets are equipped with energy cannons. The only problem is they don't have much against the Divine Plane beasts.

But he did have other means. Since the land at the border of the forest is extremely fertile too, he can use some vines as a layer of defense.

He decided to send some seeds along with the beasts

"Sir, there are a lot of personnel out of the forest at the moment. They might be able to help with the hoard coming from outside. Fighting against these beasts is pretty straight forward after all."

The Forest City clan leader said to Sam.

Sam thought for a moment and nodded.

"Tell your personnel to make their move. Assist the puppets and undead creatures to deal with the beasts. Some of my puppets have special means. Tell them to not interfere with any anomalies."

This time Sam didn't hesitate to take help.

Once the beast tide was being handled outside of the forest boundaries, Sam focused on the beasts within the forest. They are still charging towards the formation and in the next five minutes, he could finally see the beasts coming.

"Yanwu, Dia. You guys are up. Hopper, help them out."

Sam gave out orders as he himself took out his sniper rifle while hovering on the harbinger.

The earth within the five hundred meters around the city was being controlled by Dia. The whole area is one big trap. Hopper increased the density of space making it hard for them to move.

The earthen traps were activated. The pits appeared and they dragged the beasts into them with gravitational force.

Within the pits, the openings were closed off immediately and Yanwu let out the golden flames while Dia increased the pressure by controlling the gravitational force within. They are almost creating a high pressure furnace where the beasts are being treated like some metal.

Of course, even with Dia and Yanwu's level of control and hopper's speed reduction, it is impossible to completely stop all these beasts.

That is where Sam's sniper came into handy. He tried to aim for the vitals and if he is not confident that one shot is enough to kill the beasts, he just made sure their movements is taken away, so that Dia and Yanwu can finish them off.

Ape, Raiju and Sky also joined in the frenzy, they are in charge of direct close contact battle. Of course, they are smart enough to take advantage of the traps.

So, Ape is just punching the living day lights out of the beast first, enough to make it go stun for a moment and then break the legs of those beasts before letting it fall into the ground.

The beast falls into the trap and it dies inside.

Raiju is having a much easier time with his speed. He is using his claws and maw to decapitate the movement of the beasts and just made them bleed out and paralyze with the lightning element. Its done after just two moves.

The beast would be ready for the pits.

Yanwu is mostly dealing with the beasts in the sky. Since he is very outnumbered, his job is to just make sure the beasts are not having an easy time while flying. Whenever they did, Sky made them lose balance and momentum.

Ape or Raiju took the chance to launch a pincer attack on it along with Sky and subjected them to the pits.

The whole battle is well coordinated, with Sam handling the long range gracefully.

Even though the whole city was overwhelmed a bit when they saw the sheer amount of beasts that are coming at them, they finally had a sense of relief.

The onslaught went on.

Five minutes,

Ten minutes,

Half an hour,

One hour,

One and half hour,

Two hours,

Three hours.

By now, Sam, the beasts and everyone in the city were already shocked. They didn't expect that the beast tide would last this long. Every beast in the forest is coming at them and they are coming at them relentlessly.

The more surprising thing is that the disaster figure, the god that makes an appearance hasn't made an appearance yet. By now, he was already done with his second disaster before, but now the beasts are still coming forward and from the looks of it, there is no sign of them stopping.

"Shadow mice. You are up."

Sam commanded and all the shadow mice started moving around. They are carrying some tokens within their storage rings and they stuck those tokens to the burned dead bodies in the pits.

As soon as they attached the tokens, undead energy released and the dead beasts turned into undead. They rose from the ground along with their shadows as well.

The undead are linked to the shadow mice that used the tokens and now Sam had a mini army of undead beasts to help with the never ending swarm of the beasts coming at him.

The load on Sam and the beasts reduced by a lot.

He even called for a few archers to do some precise long range attacks to ease the pressure further so that he could recover. Since it is taking such a long time, he could only guess that whenever the disaster comes, things are not going to be easy for him.

The beast hoard lasted until late afternoon. Even after that the beasts are coming, but they are not as much trouble.

But now some new problems arose.

Forest Bear is the first one to react as Sam felt the pressure on the mind of the Forest Bear through their mental connection. So, he immediately ran towards him and asked.

"What happened?"

[Someone is trying to take control over the trees. Some sort of sentience is being granted to all the big trees within the city.]

The bear responded and Sam became vigilant.

"Are you able to tackle it?"

[Don't worry. You can count me on this. Every tree in the city is mine for now. No power can take it.]

Sam nodded and activated energy vision.

No matter how mystical a phenomenon is, Sam is sure that there is going be energy involved in it. He tried to see if he can find the energy signature for this weird phenomenon.

At first, he wasn't able to. But after some time, he changed the energy vision a bit. Instead of trying to track every and any form of energy, he modified the technique to only track divine energy and this time, there are some results.

He could see some sort of mist falling down from the sky above the city. Of course it is not the real mist, rather the state of the energy looked like some sort of soothing and thin mist. And this mist is completely limited to the city only. Even the weird shape of the city was followed by the falling mist.

The mist seeped into the trees, both big and small. Sam could see the Bear's energy wrestling with this energy to control the trees when he used his observation ability on one of them. The bear has an upper hand and after around half an hour of this struggle, the bear finally managed to expel all of this energy away.

At that moment, Sam saw that the energy stopped raining down on the city and it dispersed towards the forest.

The energy rain started falling within the immediate surroundings of the city. The radius in which Hopped had the most influence at the moment.

Sam didn't do anything about this at the moment, he just ordered Hopper to keep an eye on the space. Anything that happens within that space should be stopped and deal with by hopper.

The energy seeped into the trees around the city and this time, there is nothing that could stop this energy.

Sam watched as the tree transformed a bit slightly. The trees indeed got sentience and they started moving. There is even a faint appearance of grotesque facial features on the trees and a vine that appeared on every single one of them.

One of the branches changed its shape into a bow and the vine acted like the bow string. Another branch grew straight and long like an arrow and it was automatically nocked on the string before it was aimed at the city.

There is not even that much distance, Sam could actually feel the aura of the arrow and its attack power from where he is standing.
