Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 1937: Difficult Terrain

Chapter 1937: Difficult Terrain

The day before the last disaster.

Sam is on the peak of a mountain. He has worked a lot in the past few days and the last few days have been interesting. Particularly the encounters with the gods. Since Sam already marked the whole Olympus as his enemy, this is actually a pretty good introduction to them.

As he thought of the last two disasters in particular, he couldn't help but chuckle in amusement. Until now, in the ten disasters that he faced, Sam encountered only the major Olympian Gods.

At least that is what they are known as back on earth. There used to be twelve people on the list and he met nine of them. He is going to meet the tenth one today, which means he wouldn't be meeting two of them.

There are only three gods left. Zeus, Hera and Apollo.

Sam doesn't exactly know on what basis these Olympian gods are coming. If they are coming in the order of their strength, from lowest to highest, then Poseidon shouldn't be the first one. Even the descending order doesn't match up.

The difficulty was totally random.

The last two disasters are of Dionysus and Aphrodite. Aphrodite provided more difficulty than Dionysus and interactions with them are very much interesting and amusing to Sam. They are not the top dogs of the twelve major gods.

But even they tried to deal with Sam as if this is the only chance to prove themselves. And it seems like the hierarchal structure and operations are lot more enticing than Sam initially thought. He managed to get a great deal of information from Dionysus in particular.

Sam Sam's beasts had their way with him, he sang like a bird and gave all the information Sam might need. Only one piece of information wasn't available.

The last and final god in this disaster, who would that be?

If only he had gotten answer to that. If he would have had much more relaxing time right now. Anyway, at this point there is no need to worry about this too much. All he has to do is wait and prepare.

The one weird thing about this mountain range is that, it is cold. It is cold to the point there are some snow deposits on some peaks and they covered a lot of area. This reminded him of himalyan region. Only this area is almost a dozen times bigger.

It is a pretty hard place to defend as there are a lot of people staying within these mountain ranges. Due to the unique nature of the resources and the terrain that provided great difficulty to procure these resources, they created a lot of minor establishments.

In the last few days, Sam and Void Hopper collaborated in gathering all of these people in the city. They managed to create temporary space gates to transfer people.

In process, they also explored a lot about this region.

Sam really didn't like this place. There are way too many methods to destroy it. If Sam was the native of this planet and he is in territory battle, then this place would be the first target. He would destroy and occupy with ease and use this place as a rendezvous for his people in secret.

The humans on this planet might be dumb, but the same couldn't be said about the gods that are attacking this place.

So, Sam is a bit worried.

In the last few disasters, he didn't make a direct view.

He didn't even so much as slap someone or block an attack physically.

He just stayed put and waited for the time to come. He might have to break that streak now.

Sam climbed down the mountain and went back to the city. For its natural defensive purposes the city is built in a valley surrounded by mountains. There are some parts of the city that are completely devoid of any sunlight throughout the day.

It would indeed be a place with decent defense if they were fighting against other cultivators. The mountains, and the beasts that consider these mountains their home are a good line of defense.

But right now, that might just be their biggest disadvantage.

Sam arrived at the city and talked to the people in charge about the progress.

"Just keep on layering it. The base of formation is strong, but it could be stacked with as many layers of these repelling formations as you want.

I suggest that you do it with every single resource you have at your hand."

The Clan leader obediently followed the instructions. So did the other young masters. Recently these guys finally found the balls to talk to him again. They thought that Sam would have already showed some retailiation for the earlier mishap.

But he didn't do that. Instead, he just held back a bit.

This increased the contribution of the clans in defense against the disaster and this made them feel like they are worth something.

They started talking to him more openly and daringly.

They started asking him questions about this and that. Sam did answer some of them, but most of the time he ignored them completely.

Sam went to work too and at this moment, Sandhya came to meet him.

"This is the last disaster according to what you said."

"Yes. This is the last one."

"What are you going to do after this?"

"Leave this place. That is for sure. Apart from that, I don't really know. But if my guess is not wrong, I would be shipped some academy of sorts."

"Academy? At your age?"

Sam just shrugged at that. He is also a bit confused, but from what Karthikeya said, he would be enrolled into a Demigod academy of one of the gods and the competition will start there. He doesn't exactly know what he has to do there, but he knew it would be very eventful.

"Why don't you stay here? As you see this planet is a great place to be at and there are a lot of things that you can develop. I heard from my mother that a lot of planets don't have the resources and natural diversity like this place."

"Yeah, indeed. Your planet does have a pretty diverse ecosystem. But I have seen better. You planet is way too small to hold me here."

"You would be one of the strongest people here. Not a single person on the planet can touch you. I feel like you are missing an opportunity here. All the clan leaders would kill to be in a position like yours."

"Come on, you and I both know that these clan leaders killed for a lot less. Killing is not a big deal.

Anyway, this place is too tiny. I constantly look for growth and this place doesn't offer that. Why are you insistent on me staying here though? I thought you didn't like me."

Sam said calmly while setting up a formation.

Sandhya didn't know what to say, she just stayed put for a few minutes, just when she was about to say something, a small commotion occurred.

Sam was surprised to see the Priestess arrive there.

He walked up to her and asked with a smile.

"Fancy seeing you here. Why did you come?"

"Since this is the last disaster, I thought I would join in on the fun. I hope I am welcome here."

"Be my guest."

Sam said and after some talk, he went on to do more of his work. Priestess left the place to roam around the city and watch the preparations along with her daughter.

"You seem down. What happened?" She asked her daughter.

"Nothing. Its just…" Sandhya hesitated and stayed put.

"Listen Sandhya, since the start, the only person you have in this world to call your own is me. If you cannot even be honest with me, just understand that you are doing something wrong or at least you think it is wrong.

So, just be out with it and I will tell you if it is wrong or not."

"It is just that the last few days have been way too exciting. I feel like I have missed a lot of the world outside of this planet and Sam kind of brought that to this place.

I know I cannot leave this planet as the heir. So, I asked him to stay back. I know it is selfish, but I tried. He just said that this place is too tiny for him.

Once he goes away, I might be stuck in those old ways again."

Priestess smiled at this.

"Why do you feel the need to hide this though? You are a youngster, it is normal for you to feel that way."

"Thank you."

"And, even if he doesn't bring the glimpse of that world to you, who says that you cannot go to that world and take a look yourself?"

Priestess' words stunned her. It has always been a rule that the heir of this mountain temple will always stay in this planet. She always felt tied down to that rule.

"Don't look at me like that. It Is not an impossible thing. I am not going to die any time soon. At least for the next couple of centuries, I can hold up the seat here. You can travel the world and come back. But you need to be careful though.

The world might not be so forgiving to you. After all, your mother wouldn't be there to shield you every day."
