Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 1939: On Fire

Chapter 1939: On Fire

That night no one in the city got any rest.

Everyone became scared.

The beasts that they only heard of in stories and lessons have come to attack them.

Even Sam was surprised. His search was relatively thorough. But even he felt like his knowledge is lacking when he saw the type of beasts that are attacking. They are powerful. And there are a lot of beasts that are in the middle stage of Divine Plane Initiation.

They are considered powerhouses in these areas.

Of course, the formations are strong enough to defend their attacks. So, the city members had to take advantage of the formation's defense and fight them in a battle of attrition. They wore each beast down and tried to win them over bit by bit.

The only upside they saw is that they managed to hunt down these beasts and get their hands on the resources they provide. All the significant people in the city are now going to get some high quality weapons from the bones and even higher quality armor from the pelts.

The blood of course goes to inscription masters.

The flesh, its use is kind of obvious anyway.

The night passed eventfully and they didn't calm down by the day.

The city watched as one beasts after another, one powerhouse after another got down the mountain and tried to break through the formation and reach the city. They also managed to see how the formation fares against a powerhouse that they can truly estimate the strength of.

Let's say it is a very deep impression.

And the sunrise the next day is an interesting sight to behold. Because as soon as the sun came, the temperature was the same as the time the sun left them the day before. It started where it ended.

Sam couldn't help but chuckle at this.

He doesn't know how this is possible. It is scientifically stupid to even think of a phenomenon like this.

But it is happening right here in front of him.

With each passing minute, the temperature is raising. The snow on the mountains is of course not completely ordinary snow. It holds a decent ice elemental energy within and it is many times colder than the regular ice.

It also means, it needs more energy to melt. But the flow of the water is only increasing. The melting process hasn't slowed down in the slightest.

Even though Sam made a lot of sinks with the pits, he still didn't manage to accurately calculate the amount of water discharge that comes from these mountains. This resulted in just one thing. Floods.

The water flooded down the mountains and it brought a bunch of beasts along with it as it clashed into the city.

Now the city is surrounded by valley full of water. The dome of the formation is now clearly visible as the water separated from it.

Since the overflow of the streams also joined these floods, the people in the city experience what it would be like to be in an aquarium for the first time.

They could see all kinds of water type beasts swimming around the dome, trying to attack. And most of them are ice elemental beasts. The water with a lot of frost energy is around them and they used that very suitable environment to put intense pressure on the formation.

The cultivators from the city were already having enough down time with the presence of normal beasts. But now the normal beasts are attacking from sky as they didn't want to be in the water and the ice and water beasts are attacking from water.

All of their attacks are concentrated on different points of the formation. Just the sheer number of the beasts is overwhelming them. They are not able to deal with them easily.

Sam still didn't make a move.

He just stood there and waited for the situation to worsen. The only thing he did is to check the situation of the mountains through his puppets.

The surfaces of mountains are awfully clean. A lot of vegetation has been destroyed and the floods are still continuing. Sam estimated that if all the snow melts down then the whole valley would be drowned.

The city in the valley would become an underwater city and at the rate it is going, it is only going to take another two to two and a half hours to achieve that.

And his guess was right.

The mountains were stripped off all the water and it drowned the valley. Not just that valley of course, the water overflowed and entered other areas. But right now, the city is completely submerged.

By now the people who were clapping about the blessing finally knew what fear meant. They didn't dare to take the situation lightly and they are all feeling frightened.

"What are we supposed to do? Should we call people from other cities for rescue? Maybe we should use space gates to migrate from here? If we start now, we might be able to finish it by tomorrow night."

Sandhya said this to Sam in the afternoon of the second day.

Sam didn't reply to anything.

"It is not the end yet. This is just the start. The last disaster will be much longer than the other disasters and it won't end just by moving away from here. From what I understood the homing point for the gods are the people, not just the city.

If it was that easy to avoid, I could have done that since the start. Migrate people and move them back after the disaster passed. I wouldn't need to put this much effort."

Sandhya did ask about proper measures, but Sam didn't care to explain much.

He just focused on the mountain floors and watched any other changes. And he didn't observe something. Afternoon, the mountain started evaporating water. The mountain floor got heated and the water deposits that were left on it started heating up.

He noticed that the surface of the water even in the valley started heating up.

When he noticed this change, he flew out of the city and came to the surface.

He flew around and tried to get a gauge the stone surface temperature. At a visible rate it is increasing. Within an hour some small pools of water started boiling already. Sam kind of understood what is going to happen soon.

He went back to the city and just waited.

"Just deal with the beasts for now, you guys are going to be in for some long struggle with this one."

As Sam said, the fight with the beasts increased.

The city had to call in reinforcements from other cities. Most of them didn't send much, but the mountain temple has sent enough.

Priestess witness all of this with amusement and slight awe.

"You are not worried."

As Sam stood on top of the dome she came to him and said these words.

"Why would I be?"

"This disaster is taking too long. It will go to third day and even fourth. Why are you not worried?"

"These Olympians do that. Just to preserve their egos, they will do anything. There is no point in being worried."

As they spoke there and chatted for a while, Sam already sensed something from the puppets. The vegetation on the mountains is drying up. The pools are almost done and even the sinks that Sam built are boiling up even though they are full of water.

But still he didn't feel much. He knew what is about to come. He could guess it.

The second day went with the whole land on steam.

That night, everyone shivered in fright even though the surrounding water heated up and made the city heat up.

The beasts became more and more unruly as they attacked the city.

The overflowed water is destroying the habitats around the valley and it is attracting the attention of other beasts as well.

The whole thing turned into a war of attrition. The cultivators fighting are exhausted. But the attacks are never ending.

"Don't relax. This is just the beginning."

Those are the words he said on the night of the second day and on the third day morning, they realized what he meant. He is indeed right.

It was just beginning.

Apart from the beasts' attacks, the next day, they saw something else. The temperature raised to the point, half of the water in the valley evaporated. Even Sam's sinks were done for.

Then they saw something else, but afternoon, the vegetation on the mountains completely dried and up after an hour or so from the noon, the whole mountain was set on fire.

Sam looked at all of this calmly. Imagine how much vegetation a mountain has and how long it would take all of this to burn.

If the fire is of a very high quality like golden sun flames, it will take around a couple of days at least with the vitality the trees have.

And Sam felt that the intensity of these flames is indeed on par with that.

Only after the fire started did the real attacks from the disasters arrived. The floods and beasts are barely side effects when the god is setting the stage for this disaster.
