Chapter 2003 Revenge and Rumors
Chapter 2003 Revenge and Rumors
Sam didn't give two shits about Elder's anger. He just repeated the same answer.
"I don't think I was overboard."
The Elder almost lost it, but he gritted his teeth and spoke.
"You better give me a proper explanation."
"It is very simple actually. He attacked me, not even from the front. But with a trap set up. I destroyed the trap, captured the energy released from the trap and used that exact amount of energy to attack him again.
I even chased him openly and attacked with all the people present.
You can ask anyone to testify."
The elder looked at Crow, who nodded in response.
"If you had hit him with the same amount of energy, why did he go into comatose state?"
"Only the energy is the same, not the way we used it. I used the energy way better than he did and I was stronger. That is all there is to it."
"If you knew you were stronger, why didn't you hold back?"
Elder continued with this stupid line of questioning. He is basically trying to push Sam and make him admit he did something wrong, but Sam is not going to have any of it.
"I don't know why you are pressing me with that. Why should I hold back? He started it. He might now say that it was done as a prank, but when I was attacked, I didn't know it was a prank. I genuinely thought it was an attempt at my life.
If you say the energy is not enough, then I can only say I thought the killer is too much of a weakling and an idiot.
That is my answer and it wouldn't change."
"You…" The Elder was about to lash out. The elder is against Sam since the start because no one in Gambler academy has a good impression on him. But now Sam's disregard to the court is making him go crazy and this only amplified when Sam interrupted him.
"Elder, I don't know why you are questioning me for a retaliation this much. Those seniors and this guy named Riwan are the ones who provoked me. You should be glad that I didn't go after their throats immediately.
I was feeling generous letting these idiots live.
And on top of that, I was the one who should be asking the Gambler's academy for an explanation instead of you interrogating me like this."
"What did you say to me?" The Elder stood up. His energy lashed out. Even Crow turned around and got ready to fight Sam at any given moment.
Riwan was shocked and the Seniors were thinking that they might just get away with the current shit if Sam provokes the elder a bit more.
But Sam didn't care.
"The security of the Gambler's academy is so lax that a person set up a death energy formation of a fresher's dorm.
That too not for anyone. I am a student of special status, my dorm had extra privileges and supposedly have extra security. Right now, it is a small trashy formation, what if it was not? All someone had to do is design a proper formation disc and find a proper sell out in the academy and the whole fresher compound would be a graveyard.
"You are spouting a bunch of bullshit over a small incident. It was merely a prank on their part and oversight on the Dorm Security part." The Elder lashed back.
Sam chuckled and said.
"Really? Why don't you tell the Dorm Security to be just as lax when I take a stroll around the freshman compound, if I cannot turn the whole thing into a fucking graveyard in less than half an hour, I will cut my own fucking head off.
Make that bet if you want me to prove my point."
Sam's calm voice sent a chill down everyone's spine. The elder gulped.
"You…" Sam shunned him again.
"If you want to force charges on me, then fine. I demand a trial by combat. I won't accept any other punishment."
Sam's adamant attitude stunned everyone. He looked at Crow with Provocation. He doesn't care if the other party is going to push it or not, but if he did it will only be detrimental to the disciplinary hall and the Elder.
"What about the attack on the senior a couple of hours ago? Do you have any relation to it?"
Crow asked and Sam just looked at him in confusion.
"What senior?"
Crow shook his head and turned to elder. The trial went on and Sam was not involved anymore. It was indeed true that the elder was giving him a hard time, but Sam is indeed not in the wrong here.
Riwan got the details of the senior's condition as the trial went on and when he heard that the other party wouldn't be getting up for the next seven days, he felt like he was hit by an earth quake.
But soon, he was also sent away and the seniors had to face a punishment. They were given a very specific grunt work mission. To be precise it is a cluster of small missions or simply a mission package.
They are the resource gatherers for the next six months. They have to go to different realms and capture different beasts alive and bring them back for the freshmen's training activities.
They need to escort the freshmen on their missions that are going to launched soon.
They need to do herb and mineral collection and some small time mercenary jobs as well.
The tasks themselves are not difficult they are just time consuming and these seniors would fall behind in their training.
Riwan left the disciplinary hall and went to his dorm.
He held the three remaining cubes in his hands as he looked at them with a blank expression. There is a weird feeling in his mind. The cube worked which means the rest will also work. He bought his revenge merely for his monthly expenses.
This sent a shiver through his spine, but that shiver is accompanied by a thrill. He wanted to test this more.
He got up and ready to go out, but then he remembered how he was at the trial and the information of the cube was also investigated, if he went there and he was spotted with the cube, then things wouldn't go well for him.
He thought for a moment and decided on a different plan of action. He bought a bunch of stealth scrolls that are used on hidden weapons.
He applied his blood on the name of the cubes and wrapped them up with the stealth scrolls. Then he created a simple trap that can hold a cube. He gave the first cube to the bird puppet and started controlling its movements through the screen.
One of the three remaining seniors was walking alone to receive his very first mission as part of his punishment. He has to find an Elder who makes medicine and take the mission. The Elder's mansion is luckily a bit desolate making it easy for Riwan.
When the senior reached the vicinity, something fell randomly in his path around thirty meters away. He noticed that a bird puppet has dropped it and it didn't stop to pick it back up.
He frowned in confusion and curiosity before he went there and picked it up.
As soon as he held it in his hands and injected some energy to check what it is, the trap triggered and it pressed on to the name on the cube.
A bright white flash enveloped the senior and he stood there in stunned silence for a few minutes.
During that stunned period, a millions thoughts ran through his mind. He is afraid. He is scared shitless to be precise. Because before his friend got that severe condition, he was also met with the flash.
He wanted to yell and speak up when he regained his conscious state from that stunned condition, but to his surprise, he wasn't able to speak. Unlike his friend, he didn't manage to get any incubation time. His limbs went limp and he lost his voice. His acupoints started burning just like that.
He stayed there for fifteen minutes before some passerby saw him and took him to the medicine hall.
Riwan who saw this all the way from his room, felt a sense of gratification. A sense of victory and he looked at the last remaining two cubes.
And he didn't take long to use them.
By the next morning, the remaining two seniors were also sent to the medicine hall and Riwan completed his revenge.
The news of the four seniors who just went through the trial spread like wildfire and as the more information was revealed, the more it got people curious.
Just like how Riwan suffered seven days with searing pain because of the death energy, these seniors are also going to face the same. And when Riwan was interrogated again, it was revealed that he is innocent and his alibi is air tight.
But of course, none of the students who heard the rumors believed that he had nothing to do with this.
