Chapter 2463 Bombings

The vitality surged.

The formation expert from the mercenary group was the first to be shocked. Not just from the pain though.

He was shocked about how the gambler team managed to surge the vitality, when he couldn't detect any formations in the vicinity.

And the counter for that was extremely simple. Even though Sam could come up with concealing formations that could work against the third grade level people, he didn't have much time or patience to make them.

So, he opted for a different but most straightforward method to tackle this.

He just laid down formations around the area, circling it completely and made the vitality disperse out of them.

Even though there was a lot of wastage, a ton of vitality was pushed towards the mercenary group and their bodies absorbed it. Their curses acted up and started eating at their wounds. Sam immediately recalled the bird puppets.

They were just there to serve as a distraction and they did their job.

Now with the injured and cursed mercenaries, the gambler tea can easily handle them.

After around half an hour, all the members were subdued easily. They were captured and only a couple of people were killed.

The gambler team, forcefully bound them up and brought them back. They were scheduled more surgeries after all.

That night, while Sam and the Gambler team got busy with handling these people, the Hephaestus and Athena academy were finally given a proper wakeup call.

Even though they suffered so many losses at the hands of the Gambler academy, it goes without saying that they still underestimated them a bit. After all, no matter how much menace they created, they were still just one team.

Particularly, when the additional forces already put the Gambler academy on a backfoot.

But now, they realized that they came back strong and they are swinging without holding back.

Through the night, the surgeries have been completed.

"Now, just ignore them for a while and target a different team. Another mercenary squad."

Those were Sam's instructions. Haziel went out to get some info to execute those instructions, but came back with some different news.

"The opponents are making big moves. All their teams have been deployed. Since we weren't attacking the cities directly with the intent to occupy, they left most of them with minimal defense.

What should we do now?"

"We stick to the plan. Since they already sent people out, target the next mercenary group. This time, we are going to make it brutal.

All I want from you guys is to find out the locations of various mercenary groups. Identify the coordinates of the place and let me know and I will handle the rest.

We have two dozen good toys in our hand. If we use them properly, the message will be sent loud and clear."

"We are on it." Haziel deployed her team members while Sam was left behind with one person to guard him. While awaiting their messages, he created a one-sided space gate.

Soon, he got the first message.

"The team is currently at the triver city. They are interrogating the locals. They might leave any moment. We don't have any presence in the Triver after all.

So, they might just be checking it off the list, just in case."

"Alright. Send me the coordinates.

Hide and let everything unfold. If possible… capture one of the locals that's working with the opponents."

"Locals?"

"Yes. I wasn't informed much about the local situation. I need to study them a bit."

"Alright, I will try to find one. I am sure they have a few working among their ranks."

Sam got the coordinates and he adjusted the settings of the space gate. He took one of the unconscious mercenaries and shoved a pill in his mouth before throwing him into the space gate.

The mercenary regained consciousness, just as he felt the suction force of the space gate.

He disappeared from the spot, and reappeared at the entrance of the Triver City.

At that exact moment, some of the mercenaries who were doing the searches inside the city came out. They looked at the suddenly appeared mercenary, without a single scratch on him, they grew vigilant.

Before they made a move on this search mission, the Hephaestus and the Athena teams gave them a briefing about how the first mercenary team got cursed.

So, they became extremely vigilant of that fact.

Now that they saw one of the mercenaries came in front of their faces without so much as a scratch, it is only right they were afraid.

But they were too late.

*BOOM*

The guy exploded with black flames and they covered the whole group in an instant. They didn't even have a chance to block it and this time, the explosion was a lot powerful than whatever the first target mercenary produced.

Everyone burned in those black flames.

They burned fiercely and covered their whole bodies. The penetrated those armors like it was nothing and the group was unable to block flames with the energy. At least, not instantly.

The water element users also felt a bit helpless as their water attacks barely did anything. However, the fire didn't last long as they poured more and more of their energy into it.

The fire died out, but the burns remained. A lot of their skin has been burned. Exposing the layers underneath. But they still felt like they are burning. They twisted and groaned in pain as they screamed to high heavens.

When they hurriedly took out their pills and potions to heal themselves, the burning feeling intensified and they noticed that instead of gaining vitality, they are losing it more.

Before long, everyone fainted right there on the spot.

The gambler academy member swiped in and entered the city. He went to the local guy who was working with the opponents catured him and brought him back with him. While he was on the way, Sam already got the locations on other teams.

He kept on sending these mercenaries one after the other and exploded them in their faces.
