Chapter 2528: Defeat
Chapter 2528: Defeat
Bloody Chariot and Naka got ready.
Both had confident smiles on their faces.
"Fight."
Yudhi initiated and he disappeared from that spot as if he was never there. Bloody Chariot made the first move.
He figured he would end this match fast. Even with his strength weakened he is still stronger than any Late stage Divine Plane consummation cultivator. He didn’t see a point in elongating the fight and toying with Naka.
His punch was about to land on Naka’s face, who didn’t even make a move after the fight started.
A faint smirk appeared on Bloody Chariot’s face.
And then he saw the pale blue sky and felt a strong force hitting his back.
He was stunned. The smirk froze and he felt a heavy pressure on his body. Naka’s face interrupted his view of the blue sky who had that same smirk on his face.
Then the view of Naka’s face was interrupted by an incoming fist.
Bloody Chariot finally came to his senses, and his divine energy exploded. He blocked the punch and pushed up to throw Naka off him...
*BAM*
But he couldn’t. He felt the full recoil of his move and his stomach hurt like hell. And then...
*DING*
He felt a strong force hit him on the side of the head. He lost his vision for a second. Everything spun and there was a loud humming noise in his ears.
Before he could make sense of what happened, he suddenly felt a piercing blow on his chest.
Something that was not too sharp, but still pointed lodged into his chest. It didn’t pierce his flesh, but he felt its divine energy bypassing the flesh and skin, targeting his bones.
The chest caved in with half his rib cage, cracked and fractured.
Blood squirted out of his mouth.
At the same time, he lost control of his divine energy. Slowly, even that blurry vision disappeared with void.
...
Half an hour later.
Bloody Chariot opened his eyes to a familiar ceiling. He was back in the cottage. He was confused for a moment and took a few seconds to realize what happened.
And that’s it.
He froze on the spot.
"How?"
He muttered to himself.
No matter how he looked at what happened, this shouldn’t have been possible? He closed his eyes and tried to recall the fight, to its last moment.
Yudhi yelled fight, he made his move instantly.
He lunged, leading with his left foot and a right cross aimed at Naka’s face.
He closed in on to Naka and there was barely a hair’s breadth distance between his fist and Naka’s nose...
And then, he felt it.
A gentle pull on his body...
Naka made a move so fast.. he dodged the fist, caught a hold of Bloody Chariot by his collar, and threw him off his shoulder to the ground...
Naka used Bloody Chariot’s own force against him...
This made him feel cold all over. How can a late stage cultivator have more speed than a consummate cultivator? How was his reaction time faster? How was he able to redirect the force so easily?
But that wasn’t even the pressing question... It’s what happened after that.
Bloody Chariot remembered the heavy pressure on his body after he hit the ground. Naka put pressure on him, after pinning him down. And when Bloody Chariot exploded with his divine energy, instead of moving up, he instead felt his whole body recoil back.
It felt like a toddler charging against a locked door and fall back. But only much much worse.
He just couldn’t understand how his own energy acted against him. There is no way someone of lower cultivation can assert such control on him and his own body.
The whole thing made him feel confused and frustrated.
That recoil changed everything. Once he was hit by his own energy, his defenses weakened. Even after he stopped the punch, Naka’s knee hit him on the head and a perfect elbow stuck him on the chest.
"Such closed grappling fight..."
Bloody Chariot muttered. The higher the cultivation level is, the less the people will be in close contact. Even the closed quarters duel would often be full of massive energy manifested attacks.
In fact, if it was someone of equal cultivation level, that would have been Bloody Chariot’s move as well.
He was complacent and let himself get close. But to think Naka would actually grapple with him hands-on...
It was something cultivators stopped doing in the Mortal plane. He didn’t expect that in such a high level battle...
After some thoughts, Bloody Chariot suddenly felt another wave of shame invading his heart.
"I am making excuses..."
He was never defeated in years. In decades actually.
Of course Sam did make him repeatedly bite the dirt, but it was not in the matter of combat. It was in the matter of tactics and strategy.
But now, he was defeated in combat. Twice.
Once by the spirit of the sea, whose strength he couldn’t even gauge and the other was in the hands of someone younger and has lesser cultivation than him.
He sighed in defeat... But he did feel that he might have a better shot if he didn’t make the same mistakes.
At that moment, Naka came in with another bowl of porridge and something that looked like bundled piece of cloth.
"How are you feeling?"
Naka still had that’s smile on his face and Bloody Chariot’s face turned red.
"I am alright."
"My brother Saha gave you some treatment. Your bones should have healed. But there would be some pain left from the injury on the head.
I didn’t want to use any strong medicines on you because it would contradict with the medicine you are still taking for your recovery.
So, please forgive me for that."
"No.. it is already generous of you for treating me."
Naka gave him the porridge and used the folded cloth which was warm, to gently press the injured part of the head.
"So, when shall we have our rematch?" Naka asked which stunned Bloody Chariot again.
