Chapter 2608: Change in Tactics
Chapter 2608: Change in Tactics
Sam’s victory made circles across planet Darkhan.
Meanwhile, Shimmy’s crazy spiral did the same.
With those two news going round and round, the war hit a pause for that day. At least for the ground level forces. Meanwhile, Parth who is stuck in a battle with two of his former rivals, who he clearly proved that he outclassed by now, is still going on with the battle.
It is not that he was in trouble of anything, the opponents themselves are strong and even if they are not of Parth’s level, they are adaptable enough to sustain, survive and keep Parth occupied.
Similar situations are going on in other locations where Bhim, Naka, Saha and Yudhi were fighting.
Only after a long time did they realize, that the opponents have two choices or rather paths in dealing with the brothers.
One is killing them as fast as they could, using every advantage they stacked against them. And if that is not possible, keep them occupied as much as they can, until they are drained and then kill them.
Either way, they want to play it safe and they don’t want to lose people on their side.
Because while the factions allied, no one wants to bear the maximum brunt of the retaliation from the five siblings of Hastin village.
So, only their battles were going on even now.
The day passed.
Sam is feeling relaxed.
Its not like there are any rules in this world against fighting at night. The people here are not that chivalrous or honor bound.
It’s just that he felt like giving other people the time to recover.
Because Sam is sure that the outcome wouldn’t change no matter what.
That night, Shimmy who everyone thought was driven nuts by Sam, isolated himself. He didn’t stay up all night thinking, nor did he draw strategies after strategies.
Instead, he laid down on the bed, inside his ten, which had a part of its roof open, from which he could see the night sky and the stars.
He let the cool breeze hit him as he slowly drifted into his sleep. He had his guard down and his senses are also on the cool down.
If someone capable enough wants to assassinate him, this is the most perfect moment to do the deed.
Shimmy slept the whole night, without doing a single thing. He just focused on getting rest.
The next morning, he sat at the strategy table.
He was calm and serene, he made the first move.
“Forget about the village itself, start killing the forest. The spirits are our primary target.”
His decision shook the whole alliance. Because, there are very few spirits in the Darkhan that are actually hostile to humans. The Spirits by nature, are largely neutral and don’t interfere in people’s matters, unless their territory is threatened.
So, there is a tacit understanding among all the factions that, they woldn’t drag the spirits into their disputes.
When Shimmy’s assistant is about to mention this… Shimmy stopped him and said.
“The agreement and understanding that the spirits should not be involved… is a tacit one. That means, it is a nice thing we are all doing, it is not against the actual established rules.
So, make that move.”
“But sir, the spirits are not involved in the war. Why would we risk angering all the other spirits on the planet by attacking the ones in Hastin territory?”
“You think, all spirits are so unified? You can understand my strategy. Just go ahead and implement it.
Locate the consummate stage warriors and attack the consummate stage spirits as well. Only initiation stage of course. Be precise and be fast.”
The forces moved.
Sam observed the movements of the allied forces. Even Parna is making a move. Not actively, she took the role of the commander or rather a director as the rest of the forces attacked the spirits in the territory of the Hastin village.
Sam was indeed surprised for quite a bit.
He didn’t expect the spirits to be dragged into this war.
What surprised him even more, is why the allied forces are attacking the spirits at all. Its not like they are aiding Hastin village in anyway…
Then came the news from one of the old Mortal realm cultivators within the village.
“We need to help the spirits.”
“And why is that?” Sam asked, genuinely curious.
“There is a deal between the forest spirits around the Hastin village. They are Treants… a spirit race that once helped humans with a lot of things.
In a way, they are the only spirits in Darkhan that actively got involved with the human race. One thing led to another, and finally, the Treants are isolated and abandoned by the rest of the spirit races on Darkhan.
Humans with their insatiable greed, kept hunting Treants. With minimal offensive abilities, they couldn’t resist. So, our ancestor stepped up and gave word to them, that he would protect them.
He even fought the opponents from all the factions, on his own and almost died in that battle. But he did make sure not a single treant was harmed.
The ancestor later passed away after he attempted to leave this world.
But the word remains and the current residents of Hastin village are responsible for upholding it.
With all our key warriors out…”
“Say no more. I will handle it.”
Sam turned to and activated the bone snakes.
“Let’s see what you are up to.”
The Bone snakes zoomed towards the attacks.
Parna watched them come and she is still wary.
She learned her lesson. Sam is not to be trifled with and she doesn’t want to underestimate him.
However, her worst fears haven’t come true yet.
The bone skeletons and the Consummate stage initiation cultivators clashed. The cultivators didn’t have any advantage. The skeletons have grown too strong by absorbing and assimilating the bodies of so many other cultivators.
Parna realized they should have taken this measure earlier and they would have had a better shot at taking these things down.
Of course, if Parna realized, Shimmy realized it too… So, why did he still use such a tactic now?
