Chapter 1473: I will win everytime

Meanwhile, back on the battlefield...

The Blood Sovereign stared at Liam. He had watched countless geniuses rise and fall over the ages, and he had personally witnessed more than one Dao Emperor attempt this very breakthrough.

Some had prepared for hundreds of thousands of years only to fail at the final step. Others had succeeded, but even the shortest breakthrough he had ever witnessed had required years of preparation and months of seclusion while the cultivator’s soul underwent its final transformation.

The thing in front of him had done it while fighting.

How powerful!

His crimson eyes narrowed, and then a smile formed on his face. This was exactly what he wanted.

"A Soulweaver, huh... I have been wanting to fight one for a long time now. Come. Don’t disappoint me."

Liam grinned in return. He knew the feeling all too well. He inhaled, feeling power surging within him, so vast and violent that his entire existence seemed to hum beneath it. He had never felt so powerful in his entire lifetime.

His soul was exploding with infinite potential.

It was no longer merely larger or stronger. It had become something fundamentally different, as though a door he had spent his entire existence pushing against had finally opened and revealed an endless world beyond it. Every strand of his soul felt alive, endlessly malleable, capable of becoming something greater than it had been only a moment before.

And Liam was ready. He wanted to know how far he could go. More than that, he wanted to enjoy it. After everything he had endured to reach this point, he wanted to revel in the power he had fought so hard to obtain.

Karakaboom!

Lightning split the heavens. The Blood Sovereign vanished. Liam moved at the same instant.

BOOM!

A crimson fist collided with Liam’s fiery palm. The impact tore the battlefield apart. Space fractured around them in concentric rings, while the earth beneath Liam’s feet collapsed for hundreds of miles as the force of their collision plunged deep into the planet. Mountains in the distance shattered before the sound of the strike even reached them.

Liam’s eyes widened slightly.

The Blood Sovereign smiled. Then his other fist struck Liam in the ribs.

CRACK!

Liam disappeared. His body tore through several mountains before smashing into the ground and carving a trench across the continent.

"Fuck." He rose from the rubble and rolled his shoulder.

The Blood Sovereign descended from above, moving casually through the ruined sky. "Powerful," he said. "But inexperienced. Just gimmicks alone cannot make you a real sovereign. You cannot defeat me." He disappeared again.

Liam grinned. This time, he saw him.

Liam twisted aside as a crimson blade sliced through the place where his neck had been, then drove his elbow backward. The Blood Sovereign blocked it with his forearm, and Liam immediately followed with a kick that sent the ancient Sovereign hurtling across the battlefield.

The Blood Sovereign stopped himself after several hundred miles. His face changed. Something was different. This was not the power that belonged to a newly ascended sovereign.

Across from him, Liam was burning.

White-golden hair drifted behind him. Flames crawled across his skin, flowing across his arms, chest, and face. His eyes had changed as well, their pupils swallowed by white-golden fire.

Before the Blood Sovereign could react, a sphere of white-golden fire erupted outward and swallowed thousands of miles in an instant.

The Blood Sovereign was hurled backward, his crimson robes burning as he tore through several layers of shattered reality before forcing himself to stop. He had barely stabilized when Liam appeared above him.

Liam brought his heel down. The Blood Sovereign crossed both arms.

BOOOOOOM!

The Blood Sovereign plummeted toward the earth like a crimson meteor and struck the ground hard enough to make the entire continent jump. A circular wall of shattered rock erupted around the impact point, rising thousands of miles into the sky before being vaporized by the white-golden fire following Liam’s strike.

Liam descended after him, throwing a punch.

The Blood Sovereign rolled aside, evading the attack. Liam hit the ground instead.

An enormous fissure split outward, extending beyond the horizon, while molten rock exploded from the depths. Liam barely looked at the destruction before twisting around and blocking a crimson spear that appeared beside his head.

Another came from behind. Then ten more.

Liam’s eyes flashed. White-golden fire exploded from his body. The spears melted before touching him.

The Blood Sovereign appeared inside the flames. His fist slammed into Liam’s face.

Liam’s head snapped sideways. His hand immediately shot out and caught the Blood Sovereign’s wrist.

The Blood Sovereign gritted his teeth. "How are you this strong? It is simply impossible for you to possess powers like this!"

Liam grinned through the blood running from his lip. Of course, it was impossible, but thanks to the thousands of dragon souls in his black dragon sword, he was able to make the impossible possible.

Soul avatars might have a weaker foundation, but what if the soul avatars were built with dragon soul threads as the foundation?

Liam had gone into the Green Mountain treasure land for two reasons. One for the Dralura souls and the other for finally breaking apart his black dragon sword.

Perhaps one day he might be able to forge that sword to perfection, but right now he was not at that level. So Liam decided to use the sword more creatively. Instead of building it up, he tore it apart.

Just like he had hoped, he found soul thread fibers inside the dragon souls. Even if their rank was not as high as that of an Archon or the vampire or the demon, they still possessed soul threads. Most probably because of the superiority of their race.

This was the catalyst Liam needed. His growth exploded instantly. He created one soul thread after another, and thanks to the cauldron, he was able to weave soul avatars in hundreds. In the blink of an eye, he had an army of 999 soul avatars.

After that, everything fell into place quickly. He had already personally amassed a shit ton of souls. On top of that, there were the dralura souls, which were Dao rich. Finally, he even took another gamble.

Knowing that the priestess would be busy hunting him down before the mark wore off, he tried accessing the tutorial world again. None of the teleportation scrolls or tokens worked, but he had another cheat called Luna. In the end, she was able to teleport him to the game world.

After that, it did not even take him a second to locate the enormous soul core brimming with soul energy. For the risk he took, there was also another reward waiting for him. Through the single soul core, he was able to access many other soul cores connected to it.

It had to be some sort of grand array formation. Liam did not care. The moment he got access to it, he instantly drained it dry. With the 999 soul avatars working hard, he quickly amassed memories and Dao fragments. One by one, the breakthroughs quickly followed.

Liam laughed like a maniac as his forehead smashed into the Blood Sovereign’s face.

CRACK!

Blood sprayed. The Blood Sovereign staggered backward.

"Why? Why can’t I become strong? Because I am nobody?" Liam followed him and punched him. One punch after another, he continued pummeling him.

Each strike came faster than the last, white-golden fire gathering around Liam’s fists until every blow detonated with the force of a collapsing star. The Blood Sovereign blocked the first few, deflected another, then took one directly across the jaw. His head snapped sideways.

"You think just because I am a nobody you can kick me around? You think just because I am a nobody you can kill my family? My world? The weak can also fight back one day!"

Liam’s knee drove into his stomach. The Blood Sovereign folded. Liam grabbed him by the head and threw him. The ancient Sovereign disappeared through three mountains, blasting apart everything in his path.

Liam immediately followed. The Blood Sovereign had barely torn himself free from the collapsing mountain when Liam appeared in front of him again.

BOOM!

A fist buried itself in his chest.

The Blood Sovereign bent around the strike, blood exploding from his mouth as the force blasted through his body and detonated the mountain range behind him. Before he could recover, Liam grabbed him by the throat and carried him through the air, accelerating until the landscape beneath them blurred into streaks of molten stone and shattered earth.

"You want to know why I am this strong?"

Liam slammed him downward.

KABOOOOOM!

The Blood Sovereign crashed into the ground.

Liam followed him into the crater.

"Because while people like you were sitting on thrones deciding who was allowed to live and who was allowed to die, I was fighting for every fucking thing I had!"

His fist descended.

The Blood Sovereign twisted aside.

Liam’s punch struck the ground and collapsed another enormous section of the continent, but the Blood Sovereign was already behind him, five crimson claws slicing toward Liam’s spine.

SHRIIIIK!

The claws tore through him from shoulder to waist. Soul energy exploded from Liam’s back. The Blood Sovereign drove his palm forward.

"Blood Ruin."

BOOM!

Liam disappeared into the horizon.

For several seconds, the Blood Sovereign remained where he was. Blood dripped from his broken nose. One side of his chest had collapsed inward. Several ribs protruded through torn flesh, while white-golden flames continued burning stubbornly across his robes and skin. He threw his head back and roared.

The wounds began closing. Bone pulled itself back into place. Torn flesh knitted together as blood surged through his body, and even the flames clinging to him were slowly drowned beneath a layer of dense crimson energy.

In the distance, a white-golden explosion erupted. Liam shot back toward him. The Blood Sovereign raised his gaze, vanishing from his spot. Their fists met once again.

BOOM!

Hundreds of crimson afterimages surrounded Liam as the Blood Sovereign attacked from every direction, each strike landing with terrifying precision. The crimson eyes filled with rage were locked onto him, unwilling to give him a single opening.

Liam’s eyes flashed. He caught the next fist, but the Blood Sovereign was fast. His arm dissolved into blood, and Liam’s hand closed on nothing. The Blood Sovereign reformed behind him and slammed both palms against Liam’s back.

BOOOOOOM!

Liam smashed through the ground. The Blood Sovereign descended after him. "You die today." His foot struck Liam in the chest. The earth collapsed around them.

Liam caught him and turned the table. A red hot fire beam blasted the guy. In the chaos, a blood-red hand punched Liam down. Blood and fire continued clashing until finally, the two could no longer go on.

The Blood Sovereign walked out of the inferno. Half his face was gone. His left arm had been reduced to charred bone, while an enormous hole had been burned directly through his stomach. White-golden fire still crawled across his body, eating away at flesh almost as quickly as it regenerated.

On the other side, Liam did not bother answering him. He only smiled before his aura erupted again. The Blood Sovereign smiled bitterly, immediately recognizing what was happening.

"I will win every time." Liam grinned.

The Blood Sovereign stared incredulously for a moment. However, before Liam could break through, a tremendously powerful force ripped through space out of nowhere. Unable to endure any more abuse, the entire world finally gave up.

KRAAAAAK!

A fracture split across the heavens. Then another and another. An insane amount of energy gathered in the core of the world.

The entire fucking world was exploding. From past experience, Liam knew exactly how dangerous this was, so he instantly teleported out of the vicinity. He stood in space in the middle of nowhere, watching the distant planet tear itself apart.

An impossible amount of energy blasted outward. Liam immediately teleported further away. Waves after waves of destruction followed.

The shockwave passed through the place where he had been standing and continued expanding through space, ripping apart asteroids, swallowing distant moons, and leaving behind a massive distortion that stretched across the void.

Several million miles away, Liam reappeared.

And the moment he did, all of a sudden, he was face to face with that same tremendously powerful aura. He was face to face with a God!

Liam froze. The being in front of him did not look particularly impressive. There was no gigantic body stretching across the stars, no monstrous aura blazing across the void, and no heavenly phenomenon announcing its arrival.

A man simply stood there, barefoot in space, wearing loose white robes. He had pitch-black hair and dark crimson eyes and looked extremely young.

Liam wouldn’t even have known who it was if not for the memories he inherited from the vampire. This was their God, the man nicknamed the Blood God, the ruler of the Blood Court.
