Chapter 1474: In front of a God...
Liam clenched his fists. He was hoping it wouldn’t come to this. He was hoping that a God wouldn’t just randomly appear, but it turned out he was wrong. It was fine. Even though he was hoping for a lucky break, he already knew what was going to happen.
He would only be a fool if he thought he could get away with everything this easily. This world was such. To live, one needs to sacrifice. This finale was inevitable. He had already prepared for it.
He focused inward in his soul space where the last two of his soul avatars rested. Both of them were unique and completely different from the other soul avatars. In fact, they already possessed a complete Dao body.
One had the symbol of a cauldron tattooed on its chest, while the other had a draconian symbol tattooed. Just from a glance, one could tell that immense power rested within them.
Liam was just about to wake one up when suddenly an amused chuckle sounded.
"Relax, soulweaver. I am not here to fight you. I just came to bring back this one." The Blood God waved his hand, and the next second the Blood Sovereign appeared next to him, completely whole and healed. On the other side, the Blood Prince stood with contempt plastered on his face.
Surprisingly, both of them looked almost as shocked as Liam after hearing the Blood God’s words.
"No, my God, he—" The Blood Prince opened his mouth when the Blood God turned his head. The Blood Prince froze, every trace of color disappearing from his face.
"Did I ask for your opinion?"
The Blood Prince closed his mouth and stood with his head bowed down. The Blood God then turned back to Liam. "Good to meet the current generation’s soulweaver. You can reach out to me if you need any help with the soul temple’s ruins."
Soul Temple ruins?
Liam’s eyes narrowed. Before he could decide whether he actually wanted to engage a God in conversation, the other party chuckled once more. Then he disappeared. The Blood Sovereign and Blood Prince vanished with him.
There was no spatial tear, no burst of power, and not even the slightest disturbance in the surrounding void. All three of them disappeared just like that.
On a distant world with a crimson sky, the Blood God reappeared along with the two guys. Almost immediately, the Blood Prince shot to the ground, kneeling and bowing his head but saying his piece.
"My God! That bastard should have died today. Please tell me why you chose to let him off? He is just a Dao King who temporarily overshot the ranks. He is nothing. So please tell me why is he not dead right now?"
The Blood Sovereign also clenched his fists as if he wanted to ask the same thing.
The Blood God, however, said nothing. He simply began walking.
They had appeared atop an enormous black palace suspended over a sea of blood. Crimson clouds rolled beneath its foundations, while distant towers pierced the horizon like spears. Countless figures bowed the instant the Blood God’s presence spread across the world, yet he paid none of them any attention.
The Blood Prince remained kneeling. "My God?" He asked again, refused to let this go.
The Blood God stopped. Then he looked back. "Brat, have you become so useless that you cannot even see a God that too when he is staring right at your face?"
Huh? God? Blood God? The Blood Prince looked confused for a moment before he fully understood what his God meant. Shock and dread filled his face as the answer truly sank in. He was already a God...?
Not bothering to explain anymore, the Blood God continued walking while mumbling a few words.
"Besides, you got to think about many things. Do you know why that divine savior bastard never showed up today? This matter should have involved him directly yet he didn’t turn up. As always they just wanted us to fight with each other, thin down the dark faction numbers."
"Whether you realize or not, the grand war is right at our doorstep. So stop messing with your pet priestess and get to work. Achieve some breakthroughs instead of whining."
"Also, do you know how annoying soulweavers are? They are like bloodroaces. You can never truly kill one. You try to kill one and a small soul sliver escapes from you. Then bam, one million years later, the guy comes back to stab you in the back."
"I am not doing that again." The Blood God laughed a little and then disappeared.
Both the Blood Prince and the Blood Sovereign could only continue to stare in shock. That man had really become a God already?

Liam found himself standing in space all by himself, surrounded on all sides by darkness so vast and absolute that even the distant stars seemed strangely fragile against it.
Behind him, the remains of the destroyed world were still burning, enormous streams of molten rock and shattered land drifting through the void while waves of residual energy slowly dissipated into nothingness.
Only after several more breaths did some of the tension finally leave his shoulders. He relaxed, letting the two soul avatars get back into meditation. They were not needed just yet and he did not want to wake them unnecessarily. The more time he gives them the stronger they will become.
He let out a sigh, taking a look at everything again. Derek, Green Mountain, Itzel and the group had already left the world a long time ago before the fight started. So there was nothing here for him to do. It seemed that the day was finally over.
He silently teleported to his real body which was still in the treasure world and from there Liam teleported back to Earth.
His range was different now. He could teleport right to his home and did not have to go to the system shop. Yet he still decided to stop by the system shop first.
Tilia’s familiar face greeted him.
"Can you do me a favour? Can you try to collect as many soul strengthening items as possible? But give them to me as you have it. Even one to two to start with is enough."
Tilia nodded. She looked at the condition Liam was in and added a few more items to that list.
"You are always very thoughtful." Liam chuckled, seeing the fairy blush. Then unexpectedly, he pulled her closer and gave her a small kiss on the cheek. "Thank you for everything."
Tilia froze. Liam gave her a nod and then walked to his house. Mei Mei, Alex, Shen Yue, Rey, and everyone had already gathered at his house. Derek, the two demonesses, Green Mountain and even Itzel and her sister were there at his house.
Itzel’s sister immediately shot up as soon as she saw Liam. "I apologize for my earlier attitude. I didn’t mean to-" However, she was cut off by everyone else rushing over to Liam.
Shen Yue, Alex, Mei Mei and the two demonesses hurriedly ran to Liam and wanted to hug him but Luna beat them to it. She hugged Liam first and pushed everyone else away with her tails.
"Come on, Luna. This is not fair. He is my brother first." Mei Mei pouted.
Shen Yue smiled and did not say anything while Alex simply looked worried. The demonesses on the other hand looked as if they were prepared to go at it with Luna.
Luna did not care at all. She was focused on venting her greivances. "Why did you fight without me, Master? Why did you not take me with you?" She continued baraging him with questions.
"I was only able to fight because you were here guarding everyone." Liam laughed helplessly. He was tired, way too tired and simply allowed the idiot to do whatever she wanted.
"What fight? What happened?" Everyone had a million questions.
Liam only smiled. "I brought home a gift." He mysteriously said. He then gently retreived someone from his soul space.
Mia’s slender figure appeared in the house.
"Mia!" Both Alex and Rey shouted at the same time and rushed to her.
Mia smiled softly. She looked weak and fragile and her boddy wobbled. Both Alex and Rey caught her before she fell.
"She is fine now. She is just a little weak. Don’t worry, Alex." Liam reassured them and then fully collapsed on Luna’s arms. He was completely drained. The last thing he felt was Luna’s tails wrapping around him possessively as she carried him somewhere.
Liam smiled as his eyes slowly closed, and within seconds, sleep claimed him. For the first time in longer than he could remember, he drifted off without fear, without another battle waiting in the back of his mind, and without a single worry weighing on his heart.
When he woke up, the entire world broke into celebrations.
The battle itself had been impossible to hide. Sovereign-level energy had shaken multiple worlds, an entire planet had been destroyed, and countless powerful cultivators had witnessed pieces of what happened before evacuating. The word had spread far and wide.
Liam walked into the living room and everyone quickly arrived one after the other. Mei Mei, Alex, Shen Yue, Mia, Rey, Madan, the Oracle, even the monk. The whole group was there. Derek was standing right beside his sister and his mother and smiling brightly. Even Green Mountain, Itzel and her sister had hung around to wait until Liam was once again awake.
Liam smiled at everyone. He was home.
