Chapter 1122 Arcane Script

Chapter 1122 Arcane Script

Morrighan, "Then, I will have to burden Palace Master Izroth for a while longer. As for compensation, I require none. The generous accommodations you arranged for me at the Mystical Realm Palace are more than enough to make up for this small request. Not to even mention the amount of Immortal Hydra blood you entrusted to me. I was also able to gain some valuable insight into magic items while repairing the Twin Lasting Epoch Sentinels. If you insist on compensating me, I fear that I will turn into a shameless person."

Izroth, "If that's how you see it, then I won't push the matter. Still, if you require anything, do not hesitate to contact Aurora."

Morrighan, "Miss Aurora has been treating me well and is rather reliable. So, I have no complaints. That aside, I believe that you will be quite surprised when you see the results."

Izroth, "If you say it like that, I have no choice but to look forward to it."

...

After exchanging a few more words and making proper arrangements to pick up the repaired Twin Lasting Epoch Sentinels, Izroth shifted the topic to the Profession Specialization Scroll and the quest he obtained.

Of course, as Izroth gave Morrighan a rough summary of things, he did not remain idle in the secret underwater base. He had started to make his way toward the exit along with Sagarus, most of the lightning soldiers, and the unigon Yilsia. Some of the lightning soldiers were still on their way to meet up with Izroth. That is, all except one lightning soldier, who stayed behind and would be left in charge of activating the self-destruction device to bring the entire secret underwater base down.

Morrighan, "Getting your hands on a Profession Specialization Scroll—a legendary one at that—you never cease to surprise me. To answer your question, I also received the same quest. But, according to what you've told me, yours is slightly different than mine."

Izroth, "Oh? In what way?"

Morrighan, "My quest did not have a second part to it. I also received my Introduction To Magic Architect after opening my Profession Starter Kit, it was not listed as a quest completion reward. If not for that introduction manual, I would have had no clue where to begin when it comes to crafting magic items. From the sound of things, you will not acquire your introduction manual until after you successfully craft your first creation. Who asks someone to paint an exact replica of a picture they've never seen? No, better yet, before even telling them what they want that picture to be. It is backwards."

'My thoughts were similar. But, no matter how many times I look over the items I've received, there is nothing that remotely resembles a guide.'

Without halting his steps, Izroth opened up his system interface and looked over the alerts he received not too long ago.

〈System Alert: You have opened x1 «Profession Starter Kit».〉

〈System Alert: You have received x1 «Runic Quill».〉

〈System Alert: You have received x3 «Bottle of Diluted Arcane Ink».〉

〈System Alert: You have received x1 «Arcane Script: Lower Zone of Progression».〉

Name: Profession Starter Kit(Soulbound)

Usage: Grants the user specific starter items based on their profession. The user must be Grade Zero for the chosen profession.

Special Note: This item is soulbound to its original owner and cannot be traded or sold. This item is automatically destroyed if dropped from the user's inventory.

Izroth had already opened the Profession Starter Kit near the beginning of his conversation with Morrighan. After all, even if the quest mentioned that the introduction manual was a part of its reward did not mean there were no other things to act as a form of guidance. However, all he obtained was a single crafting tool, a few materials, and one "blueprint".

Name: Runic Quill(Soulbound)

Rank: A

Durability: ∞(Indestructible)

Usage: This item can be used to create «Arcane Scripts» that are grade-one or lower. The more an «Arcane Script Runemaster» uses this item, the stronger it will grow.

Special Note: This item is soulbound to its original owner and cannot be traded or sold. This item is automatically destroyed if dropped from the user's inventory. The method to produce this item has been lost to the passage of time.

Name: Bottle of Diluted Arcane Ink

Rank: A

Capacity: 100%

Usage: A special ink used in the creation of «Arcane Scripts» that is produced by utilizing a combination of high-ranked monster blood and other unknown elements. This particular ink has been diluted, making it suitable to handle for a beginner «Arcane Script Runemaster».

Special Note: The method to produce this item has been lost to the passage of time.

Name: Arcane Script: Lower Zone of Progression

Rank: Grade-One

Usage: Creates a «Lower Zone of Progression» that allows almost everything to progress 100% faster inside of the designated area. Once the «Lower Zone of Progression» is deployed, it cannot be moved.

Special Note: The method to produce this item has been lost to the passage of time.

While the two A-ranked items stood out, naturally, Izroth's attention was immediately drawn to the arcane script. And, after reading over its effects, he could not believe it was that of a grade one item.

Even though it did not specify how large of an area the arcane script was capable of covering and the fact that it would not be moved once deployed, the effects held unbelievable potential.

Making it so that nearly everything progressed 100% faster could mean a plethora of things. It could double one's EXP gain or maybe even make it so that one was able to raise their profession level twice as fast. Monster spawn times could be cut in half, herbs could grow at twofold speed—it was even possible that it could influence time itself!

Ultimately, there was no way for Izroth to know what it was fully capable of until he created and deployed the arcane script.

'Even a pinnacle-ranked magic formation would struggle to produce such a ridiculous effect unless the area it influenced was severely limited. Arcane Script Runemaster... Is it somehow related to the Formation Master profession? It's too early to make a solid connection since I've only seen one arcane script. But, the underlying principles seem similar.'

Formation Master was a rare profession that had the ability to create and deploy magic formations that could unleash a variety of effects. However, a thought crossed Izroth's mind as he pondered the potential origin of the Arcane Script Runemaster.

While Izroth thought of several potential theories, there was one that stood out. What if just as elemental magic was an imitation of elements found in nature, magic formations were an imitation of arcane scripts?

Of course, this was only one possibility Izroth speculated. In the end, there was no solid proof.

Izroth, "Then I suppose the only way forward is for me to figure it out on my own."

Morrighan was the only other player Izroth knew who had obtained a legendary profession. Since she did not have the answers he was seeking, it was unlikely that others would hold the answer.

There was always the option of trying his luck at the crafting city of Danaharpe. After all, it was a place where many high-level craftsmen resided. Or, at the very least, find some old books that referenced Arcane Script Runemasters.
