The gentlemen present didn’t intend to gang up on Yu Duoduo, but since they were mere acquaintances, they naturally weren’t inclined to help her either. Besides, knowing she was rather manipulative, they were worried about potential trouble and thus didn’t think of lending her a hand.

Though the four gentlemen had no such intentions, it didn’t mean that Yu Duoduo didn’t. Having felt slighted, she immediately set her sights on them, quickly assessing the pros and cons among the four men to find the most suitable candidate to help her.

Pei Ziyu and Tan Jia were definitely inappropriate choices, as both were already taken. It would be difficult to divert their attention to her in such a short time. With those two ruled out, her options were halved instantaneously.

Compared to Pei Ziyu and Tan Jia, the bachelors Fu Hao and Jin Zhan were certainly more fitting. However, Fu Hao had his sister Fu Rui keeping an eye on him, and Fu Rui wasn’t exactly on Yu Duoduo’s team. Considering this, Jin Zhan actually seemed like the easiest target.

As soon as she locked onto her target, Yu Duoduo immediately put on a fragile front, casting a pitiful look in Jin Zhan’s direction.

In any other place, Jin Zhan might have enjoyed playing along with Yu Duoduo, but it was clear that the ladies present didn’t like her. He certainly wasn’t going to offend all the women present by siding with her, especially since he had one important rule when it came to women: whether green tea or White Lotus, he never messed with someone who was taken. It was a matter of principle.

And so, Yu Duoduo failed on both counts, and her longing looks were thoroughly ignored by him.

Yu Duoduo hadn’t expected that, with so many people around, not a single one would come to her aid. She was both angry and indignant, feeling these people didn’t appreciate her efforts. Liang Xiao observed the whole scene and really didn’t want to witness any more embarrassing displays. Seeing that breakfast was nearly finished, she said promptly, "Duoduo, you should eat quickly, we still have to get back to the set."

Yu Duoduo was taken aback. She didn’t want to leave, thinking it would make her trip in vain. After all, she had missed out on Fan Tianyu yesterday, and today’s four men were high-quality catches; she would regret it terribly if she didn’t snag at least one. So, she quickly asked, "Ah, are we leaving? Don’t we have no scenes today? And it seems so early to go back, doesn’t it?"

Since Yu Duoduo was in a supporting role, and Bi Xiaoyu’s character didn’t have many scenes to begin with, pretty much all of the high school scenes had already been shot. There weren’t many left, and her part would also finish in a few days.

But regardless of whether Yu Duoduo had scenes to shoot, such a person should definitely not be kept around Mei Mengzhen. Liang Xiao said, "I have to go to the set every day to supervise, and since I missed following the night shoot yesterday, I really have to go back today, or Director An Zhi will scold me."

Yu Duoduo wanted to insist on staying while letting Liang Xiao return alone, but seeing that the others clearly didn’t welcome her, even she wasn’t brainless enough to make such an excessive request. After hesitating for a while, she agreed, "Okay, when are we leaving? I’d like to go upstairs and pack up a bit."

When everyone heard that Yu Duoduo was leaving, although they still wanted to tease her a bit more, they no longer had any intention of being overly aggressive. After all, even if Yu Duoduo had many ulterior motives, she hadn’t caused any real harm to anyone yet, had she?

However, Yu Duoduo couldn’t just leave without gaining anything from her visit. She turned to everyone and said, "I feel quite fated to have met all of you. If it’s convenient, let’s exchange contact information so we can keep in touch when I return to Jiangcheng."

Yu Duoduo initially addressed everyone, thinking if all shared their contacts, the four men from today would feel obliged to do the same. She hoped to get all of their numbers and, even if not everyone shared them, it would be quite nice to have a few key people’s contacts to socialize with slowly over time.

But upon hearing this, Wang Qiuhe laughed, "Ah, that’s really not necessary."

As soon as Wang Qiuhe spoke up, everyone suddenly realized something: Yu Duoduo had said she graduated middle school in ninth grade, but so did Wang Qiuhe. In fact, the two were of the same age group.

However, Wang Qiuhe looked youthful at first glance, whereas Yu Duoduo’s face... well, it looked considerably older, especially since she was trying to seem younger. Just comparing the two made the truth quite evident.

Lai Xixi seized the moment to chime in again, saying, "Hey, I’ve just remembered Qiuhe also graduated in ninth grade. You’re planning to study in Jiangcheng, right? You two are the same age; you should be able to hang out together. Why don’t you two exchange numbers? We are getting on in years, and with university being so busy, we don’t have time to play with high-schoolers. But you two could exchange numbers and keep in touch with each other."

Wang Qiuhe was initially bewildered upon hearing this proposal but then showed a face full of disdain. Even the thought of deleting Yu Duoduo’s number later didn’t sit well with her, "No need, I’m not even going to high school. I’m going to study makeup, so I don’t really need to interact with high-schoolers."

Wang Qiuhe’s tone was a definite slap in the face, and it was all the more devastating because it was unintended.

Yu Duoduo was livid but attending the event without securing a single phone number was out of the question. Eventually, she turned her attention to Mei Mengzhen.

Although Yu Duoduo didn’t really admire Mei Mengzhen, the fact that she could win everyone’s protection without a word was something Yu Duoduo couldn’t learn. She wasn’t looking to be Mengzhen’s friend; she just needed to use her temporarily. What could be wrong with that? So she showed a hint of goodwill: "Mengzhen, I liked you as soon as I saw you. If possible, I really want to become friends. Could you please share your contact information with me?"

Mei Mengzhen smiled faintly without outright refusal but then asked, "You say you liked me from the first moment you saw me?"

Yu Duoduo nodded, looking expectantly at Mei Mengzhen.

Mei Mengzhen, puzzled, asked, "Then what exactly do you like about me? Can you tell me first? Or... maybe give me an example? I’d like to understand how I managed to win your affection, as I’m quite confused. We barely spoke, so how did you come to like me upon seeing me?"

Mei Mengzhen’s probing was truly annoying to Yu Duoduo, but because of what she had said, those in the know immediately recalled the joke about a PPT presentation from school. As soon as Mengzhen finished speaking, before Yu Duoduo could reply, the group in on the joke simultaneously suggested, "Why not make a PPT first? We’d also like to understand."

Wang Qiuhe laughed, "Do you know how to make a PPT? I’ve heard they’re specially used for meetings to make the intended message clearer and more visual. Making a PPT might ensure Mengzhen gets the point straight away."
