Chapter 1008: Chapter 1008: How Could She Sink So Low
Ocean Park.
Tang Yue took the two children, along with Wu Xin, to the park. In the summer, the Ocean Park was crowded, with all sorts of fish swimming about.
Zaozao and Chenchen were extremely excited, the sibling duo looked here and there, their little faces beaming with endless excitement.
"What kind of fish is this?"
"And what about this one?"
Many of the fish they had never seen before, and even those they had, the siblings couldn’t name, so Tang Yue patiently introduced them as they wandered around. Even when she didn’t know, she would join the kids in searching for the various fish signs.
Wu Xin was specifically in charge of safety, taking care of not only the two children’s safety but also Tang Yue’s.
Even though there were many people around, it wasn’t overcrowded. They spent two and a half hours touring the Ocean Park, and then went to watch a dolphin performance.
Even as an adult, Tang Yue couldn’t help but feel happy upon seeing the adorable dolphins.
After a day of fun, Tang Yue was exhausted, yet the two kids were still energetic and full of spirit.
"Where do children get such boundless energy from?"
Tang Yue couldn’t help but marvel, feeling that even though she was in good shape, she seemed to pale in comparison to the children, who appeared to have endless energy.
"It’s good that kids are full of energy; if they weren’t, you’d have reason to worry." Wu Xin chuckled lightly. Having been by Tang Yue’s side for years, she was very familiar with the two kids. If they were lacking in energy, it meant they were sick, and if so, it would usually be at least a 39-degree fever.
Otherwise, even with a 38.5-degree fever, the kids would seem as energetic as usual, making it hard to notice they had a high fever.
"That’s true."
Tang Yue followed them, letting them run around and have fun, as they were in a spacious alley where there weren’t many people. It was a cloudy day, the sun wasn’t harsh, and the breeze carried away the heat, making it feel pleasantly comfortable.
"Wu Xin, have you not met someone you like?" Tang Yue asked curiously. Wu Xin had been with her for several years and was around her age; it wouldn’t make sense for her to be delayed just because she was with Tang Yue.
"No," Wu Xin shook her head and said, "Xiao Yue, don’t worry about me. If I have someone to marry, I’ll definitely tell you."
She had no interest in dating.
Tang Yue raised an eyebrow but didn’t say more. Everyone has their own thoughts.
In the afternoon, Tang Yue and the group had lunch at a newly opened buffet restaurant. The two children, who had almost played themselves out, felt sleepy after digesting their meal.
"Let’s take a break here."
It was a park with plenty of places for people to rest; the lush green lawn was very clean.
Tang Yue laid out a mat on the grass, and the two kids lay down on it, turning it into a giant bed.
Soon, the two children were asleep. Tang Yue covered them with a thin blanket. They were just behind a large tree, with a gentle breeze making it not too hot. Tang Yue brought out various snacks and chatted with Wu Xin while eating.
Suddenly, Tang Yue spotted two very familiar people in the distance.
Sun Rou?
No, it was Lian Qingqing.
Tang Yue was a bit surprised to see Lian Qingqing, as it had been years since she last seen her. She had heard that Lian Qingqing had gone to Country F to join D Jewelry Company.
Hmm, last time Lian Qingyang said that Lian Qingqing had returned to China.
But who was the person with Lian Qingqing?
Tang Yue didn’t really know him, but from the way they held hands, they seemed like a couple. This was normal, but the man appeared to be older, and paired with the fashionable Lian Qingqing, they didn’t quite match.
Lian Qingqing didn’t notice her, and Tang Yue didn’t want to recognize people, so she put on a big hat, ensuring no one could identify her.
In the evening, Tang Yue mentioned this to Si Yu, who said, "It doesn’t matter who she’s with, as long as she doesn’t harbor any ill intentions."
"I think so too."
Tang Yue thought it was just a coincidence, but who knew, when she went to welcome Lucy, she ran into those two again.
Just in different clothes and a different environment.
"Do you still remember her?" Lucy asked.
Tang Yue nodded. When they were in Country F, it was because of Lian Qingqing that she, Lucy, and Kaya Jewelry became partners.
"She’s just a high-class socialite at D Jewelry’s headquarters now." Lucy spoke with disdain, "Back then, she had conflicts with you; in my opinion, she’s not worth your trouble."
"What do you mean?" Tang Yue didn’t quite understand.
Lucy wasn’t one to gossip, but when it came to Lian Qingqing, she didn’t hold back. She still remembered Lian Qingqing’s arrogant demeanor.
"She worked hard to secure the position of design director at D Jewelry."
Lucy emphasized "worked hard," also mentioning Lian Qingqing’s relationships with several people, detailing how she became the director of the Huaxia Region’s headquarters. Lucy knew everything, including that the man with Lian Qingqing today was Fan Ming, the president of D Jewelry in Asia.
Tang Yue looked at Lucy in shock, as if she couldn’t comprehend that this Lian Qingqing was the same one she remembered.
Using her body to get what she wanted?
Impossible.
She must have encountered a fake Lian Qingqing. The Lian Qingqing she knew was too proud; with what the Lian Family had given her, she could live in comfort for a lifetime.
How could she have fallen to this level?
Moreover, wasn’t Shen Yunfei still in Country F, protecting her?
Back then, as her cousin, he already protected Lian Qingqing; now as her brother, wouldn’t he protect her even more?
"You don’t believe it either, right?" Lucy smiled, "Though she kept it secret, there’s no real secret in this world."
"Lucy, I trust you."
Tang Yue naturally trusted Lucy but couldn’t believe why Lian Qingqing, despite having such a promising future, would do this?
Becoming D Jewelry’s design director, so what?
After sending Lucy to the room upstairs, they ran into Lian Qingqing and Mr. Fan, hugging and looking overly affectionate, which was truly eye-opening.
Once the door closed, you could imagine the scene inside even with your eyes closed.
"Lucy, why don’t you stay at my place?" Tang Yue suggested.
Lucy’s blue eyes lit up, and she immediately said, "Xiao Yue, I was just waiting for you to say that."
Tang Yue: "..."
Did that mean if she didn’t ask, Lucy wouldn’t be allowed to stay at her house?
Once they were home, Tang Yue finally understood what the two suitcases Lucy carried were for: one was full of clothes, and the other was all gifts for the two kids.
