Chapter 1292: Which One Should I Eat First?
Chapter 1292: Chapter 1292: Which One Should I Eat First?
"Sister, even if I have money, I can’t buy it?"
Zaozao glanced at the look on the sales assistant’s face, frowning immediately. He really liked this razor.
"You can buy it."
The sales assistant nodded without a second thought, as the purpose of opening a store is to sell goods. The items displayed on the counter are naturally for sale.
But...
The sales assistant looked at Zaozao again and asked, "Little boy, if you’re using your own money to buy this, do your parents know?"
If it gets sold and the parents come back to return it, it would be troublesome. A razor is a personal item, and once sold, unless there’s a quality issue, it cannot be returned.
The sales assistant reminded, "Once this razor is sold, unless there is a quality issue, which means the razor is broken, it can be returned; otherwise, it cannot be returned."
Worried that Zaozao might not understand, the sales assistant explained more plainly.
"I got it, sister, quickly wrap it for me." Zaozao looked at the sales assistant as if she was an idiot. If it weren’t for her kind reminder, Zaozao would have already been impatient.
He had already taken out the money, yet she wasn’t wrapping the product quickly.
"Don’t you want to take another look around?" Chenchen looked at Zaozao with a tangled expression.
Zaozao had decided. Now, what should she buy for dad?
While the sales assistant was wrapping up Zaozao’s purchase, Chenchen’s beautiful big eyes wandered around the mall. Yet, no matter where she looked, she couldn’t find anything suitable for dad.
Suddenly, Chenchen saw some delicious grilled meat. She said something to Zaozao and walked over to buy some skewers.
Smelling the aroma of the grilled skewers, Chenchen’s mouth watered uncontrollably.
"Sister, I want ten skewers."
Chenchen gestured and thought for a moment, then changed her mind, "I want twenty skewers."
"Alright." The skewer vendor took twenty skewers, grilling while chatting with Chenchen. Although there were plenty of pretty girls, one as unique as Chenchen, coming alone, was rare.
"Little girl, why are you here alone buying food?"
"With my brother."
Chenchen was fully focused on the skewers and casually answered the vendor’s question.
"Where are your parents?" the vendor asked again.
Chenchen replied, "Behind us."
She knew Aunt Ding followed behind them.
The vendor noticed the little girl staring unblinkingly at the skewers and knew she was tempted, so he said no more and focused on grilling the meat.
Soon the vendor finished grilling. Chenchen paid, grabbed a bunch of skewers in each hand, and happily started eating.
Delicious.
As Chenchen took a bite, her eyes instantly lit up. She turned back to the store where Zaozao bought the razor.
"Be careful, Mom will scold you." Zaozao looked disdainfully at the skewers in her hands.
"I brought you some."
Chenchen reluctantly shared half with him and said, "If you don’t say anything, I don’t say anything, and Aunt Ding doesn’t say anything, how will Mom know?"
"I don’t want it."
Zaozao didn’t like such things, even though they smelled great, but appeared...
"Aunt Ding, do you want some?" Chenchen straightforwardly offered the skewers to Ding Ling.
Ding Ling smiled and shook her head, "I’m not eating. You enjoy it, but if your mom finds out, I won’t help you."
"She won’t know. If Aunt Ding doesn’t say, Mom won’t know."
Chenchen nibbled skewer by skewer, joyfully smiling with curved eyes.
"Chenchen, what exactly are you going to buy for dad? Let’s hurry up, finish buying, and go home." Zaozao disliked wandering around aimlessly.
Chenchen swallowed the meat in her mouth and said, "I want to pick the best one. It will definitely take some time."
Zaozao: "How long will it take?"
"I don’t know." Chenchen shook her head, blinking her big, round eyes, "Why don’t you go home first?"
"No way."
Zaozao rejected the idea instantly. They went out with only Aunt Ding. Though he could go back alone, Aunt Ding definitely wouldn’t feel at ease.
"Then hurry up and eat,"
Zaozao, having finished his purchase, was already mentally back home.
"Oh."
Chenchen responded and continued eating slowly and gracefully. Her movements were elegant, even with the challenging task of eating skewers, Chenchen still made it look remarkably good.
But...
Her slow eating exasperated Zaozao. By the time she finished eating, the day would be over.
Zaozao glanced around, saw seating not far away, and dragged Chenchen over to sit down. "Give me five."
"Didn’t you say you weren’t eating?"
Chenchen reluctantly looked at the skewers in her hand, thinking she should have bought more.
Zaozao quickly snatched five, swiftly devouring them all.
"Meng Shulang, I offered you some, and you didn’t want it, but now you take mine."
Chenchen accused Zaozao, staring at him.
Zaozao gave her a sidelong glance and continued eating skewers.
Seeing Zaozao voraciously gobble them down in just a few bites, Chenchen knowingly picked up the pace.
Bad brother, he clearly said he wouldn’t eat.
Chenchen muttered in her heart, hastily finishing the twenty skewers.
As soon as she finished, Zaozao dragged Chenchen wandering around again.
The department store was filled with all sorts of pretty things, dazzling people’s eyes. Chenchen picked items for herself aplenty but still couldn’t find a suitable gift for dad.
"Why not draw a picture." Zaozao suggested.
"No way."
Chenchen shook her head, "I drew a picture for mom last time. That picture took half a month to complete."
This time, she hadn’t prepared in advance; how could it be done?
"What do you want to buy? It’s almost noon?" Zaozao reminded.
"I want to eat that."
Chenchen stopped at a dessert shop’s entrance.
Zaozao: "..."
From so far only buying grilled skewers, candy-coated haws, pies, milk tea, to now a dessert, he really wanted to ask: "Are you out to buy gifts or to eat?"
"I’ll buy a cake for dad."
Chenchen’s eyes gleamed as she looked at the dessert shop, drooling over the cake samples displayed by the entrance.
"Chenchen, why not buy a pair of cufflinks for dad?" Zaozao couldn’t bear it anymore and suggested.
Chenchen thought for a moment, nodded, "Alright, I’ll buy cufflinks, but I’m going to get something to eat first."
Before Zaozao could respond, she had already darted into the dessert shop, picking a seat by the window, joyfully ordering food.
"Chenchen, wait here, I’ll go buy the cufflinks." Zaozao decided that if he didn’t go to buy, by the time Chenchen finished eating, lunchtime might have already passed. If Tang Yue knew they hadn’t returned by lunch, she’d surely scold them.
"Okay."
Chenchen nodded, her eyes fixed on the dessert menu. So many delicious options, which one should she try?
