Chapter 883: Morning
Chapter 883: Chapter 883: Morning
Meng Siyu continued to comfort her, while he watched the doctor’s orderly actions out of the corner of his eye, and was instantly relieved.
Before long, the words Meng Siyu spoke in her ear were like a lullaby, and Tang Yue felt drowsy and fell asleep, but even as she slept, she held onto Meng Siyu’s hand tightly, unwilling to let go.
It was only when Tang Yue was successfully wheeled out of the delivery room that Zhang Hualian and Mo Xiaolin finally breathed a heavy sigh of relief.
Before long, the hospital room was bustling. Tang Mingli, who went to Tang Zhengde’s house every day to see if Tang Yue had given birth, arrived at the hospital today with Wei Jiajia and the two children after finding no one at the Tang Family home. Upon arrival, he indeed saw two newborn babies.
"They are so tiny, even smaller than Anan and Tuantuan." Tang Mingli scrutinized the two children, feeling that they looked very small no matter how he looked at them.
Wei Jiajia cast him a sideways glance and said, "Mingli, the babies are twins, so of course they’ll be smaller than a single baby, but they look really adorable."
Tang Mingli looked left and right; the two babies were red and wrinkly, and their eyes were not even open, so where did they look adorable!
His own Tuantuan was much cuter.
"I think so too; the two babies are very cute." Zhang Hualian and Mo Xiaolin looked at the babies as if they could not get enough of the sight.
Old Master Meng and Meng Jin were even so engrossed that they didn’t even want to break for breakfast.
The doctor came and arranged for Meng Siyu to receive an IV in the same room as Tang Yue, but since Tang Yue was holding Meng Siyu’s hand tightly and was conveniently asleep, Meng Siyu had two hospital beds placed side-by-side together.
Tang Mingli, seeing the two hospital beds together, couldn’t help but twitch his mouth. Xiao Yue was in postpartum recovery, and Meng Siyu was recovering from injuries. Upon hearing he was hurt in a car accident, Tang Mingli couldn’t help but think, should he advise Meng Siyu to find a temple to pray?
How quickly Meng Siyu got injured again.
Since Tang Yue was sleeping, everyone consciously lowered their voices.
Tang Zhengde’s pig’s trotters soup had long been stewed; it was now being kept warm in hot water, ready for Tang Yue to eat as soon as she woke up.
"Hualian, have you informed Xiao Yue’s aunt and grandfather?" Tang Zhengde glanced around but did not see Lian Tong and Old Sir Lian, he asked softly.
Zhang Hualian’s smile froze for a moment as she said, "I forgot."
"Xiao Yue’s aunt is quite close to her, we should really notify her." Tang Zhengde saying this, added, "By the way, does Xiao Yang know yet?"
"I’ll inform them now."
Zhang Hualian just then remembered she still had a son, and realizing she couldn’t bring herself to inform them herself, asked Lian Qingyang to do it instead.
When Lian Qingyang arrived, all he could think about was whether Tang Yue was safe and if the babies were doing well, completely forgetting to inform the Lian Family.
"Brother-in-law, did you escape from a hospital in that outfit?" Lian Qingyang stared at Meng Siyu, who lay there in a hospital gown.
"Lian Qingyang, if you don’t speak, no one will think you’re mute." Meng Siyu glanced at him.
Lian Qingyang shrugged and fell silent, relieved that his sister was safe; he turned his attention to the babies.
Though it was a single-person ward, it was quite spacious, with the two babies on the other side, surrounded by many people. Lian Qingyang popped his head over, leaning on the small crib, looking at the tiny babies with a face full of wonder, exclaiming that these were his nephews.
"Mom, which one is the older one, which is the younger one?"
Lian Qingyang looked between them and found they were similar, except for the slight difference in swaddling blankets; otherwise, they looked the same.
"The one in the blue blanket is the older brother, and the one in the pink blanket is the younger sister, the brother is older by ten minutes." Zhang Hualian explained with a laugh. When they learned there would be two babies, they prepared everything as one for a boy and one for a girl, so whether it turned out to be two boys or two girls, or one of each, it would all be ready.
"Babies, I’m your uncle, and I’ll bring you delicious food in the future." Lian Qingyang carefully brushed his fingers over their soft little faces, smiling foolishly as he looked at the twins. Looking up, he asked, "Mom, when will they start calling me uncle?"
"At least when they’re one year old." Zhang Hualian shot him a look and reminded him to be gentle so as not to use too much force.
"That long, huh?" Lian Qingyang lamented, then asked, "Mom, why are they so red and tiny?"
"You grew up from being that small, too." Zhang Hualian looked at his curious expression, lost in thought. When Tang Yue was born, she was as small as her sister, particularly tiny, and many in the village said she wouldn’t make it.
At the time, she attributed it to malnutrition, thinking the baby came early, and since the child was so small, her belly was all amniotic fluid, and she never imagined she had given birth to twins.
When Tang Yue woke up, she saw Meng Siyu in a hospital gown.
"Siyu." Tang Yue raised her hand and asked, "Where are you hurt?"
"I’m fine, all healed up, just need some more IVs." Meng Siyu held her hand tightly, saying, "But you..."
"I’m doing well too."
Tang Yue smiled, her bitten lips now a bright red, looking shocking yet evoking sympathy.
"I’d rather not have the children, as long as you’re safe and sound." Meng Siyu pressed her hand to his lips, kissing it again and again, his dark eyes glistening with tears. As he waited for her to wake, though it had been two days with no sleep, he dared not sleep before she awoke.
"I’m fine, aren’t I?" Tang Yue blinked, her vision somewhat blurred.
Meng Siyu kissed her hand and said, "You did great, we have a brother and a sister now."
"Yeah, it’s wonderful." Tang Yue felt a bit surprised; while she was pregnant, she had occasionally thought about whether they would have one boy and one girl, forming the Chinese character for "good".
But then she thought that fate had already treated her well, and whether it was a boy and girl, or two boys, or two girls, she would have been very happy.
But unexpectedly, it was indeed one boy and one girl.
As Meng Siyu’s IV finished, the two hospital beds were separated, and he happily got up.
Meng Siyu nodded, saying, "I’ll bring the babies over."
Just as Meng Siyu stood to fetch the babies, Mo Xiaolin and Zhang Hualian had already brought them over. Zhang Hualian said, "I’m holding the sister."
"This is the brother."
Mo Xiaolin and Zhang Hualian stood on either side of the hospital bed, while Tang Yue looked at the brother and then at the sister, appearing conflicted, unable to tell where the two children resembled her or Meng Siyu.
A mother knows her child best, and Zhang Hualian said, "Xiao Yue, the babies were technically premature, they haven’t filled out yet. Give them a little time, and they’ll become plump and adorable."
"Exactly." Mo Xiaolin nodded and asked, "So, have you chosen names for the two babies yet?"
