Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets

Chapter 884: Let Me Help

Chapter 884: Chapter 884: Let Me Help

"The elder brother is called Meng Shulang, and the younger sister is called Meng Shuqing." Si Yu thought that today’s weather truly matched the two children. It had rained in the previous days, but when the children were born, the sky cleared.

"What about their nicknames?" Zhang Hualian asked.

Their formal names sounded pleasant.

Si Yu looked at Tang Yue. The formal names had long been decided by the couple, while the nicknames were up to Tang Yue to choose.

Tang Yue glanced out the window and said, "I gave birth to them in the morning, so the brother will be called Zaozao and the sister Chenchen."

"Xiao Yue, those nicknames seem a bit too random," Tang Mingli couldn’t help but say. "If they had been born at noon, would you have called them Zhongzhong and Wuwu? And if at night, Wanzai and Shangshang?"

"Ah..."

Tang Mingli suddenly felt a pinch at his waist and immediately glanced at Wei Jiajia by his side, instantly shutting up.

"I think Zaozao and Chenchen sound pretty nice," Lian Tong chimed in just as she arrived and heard the conversation, immediately agreeing.

She had changed into a pair of flat shoes, and her clothes were now casual. She stepped forward, concerned, asking, "Xiao Yue, I didn’t know you were in labor. Sorry for coming just now."

"Auntie, it happened in the middle of the night," Tang Yue apologized a little. If it were during the day, she would have informed everyone, but at such a late hour, Tang Yue didn’t want to disturb everyone’s rest.

"Let’s discuss the nicknames later. Si Yu, go home to freshen up and change your clothes." Tang Yue looked at Si Yu, who had some blood on his clothes.

"Okay." Si Yu stood up and gave Mo Xiaolin a meaningful look.

Mo Xiaolin, holding the baby, stepped forward to block Tang Yue’s view, saying, "Xiao Yue, how about letting the baby try breastfeeding? Even if there’s no milk yet, it’s still beneficial."

"Alright." No sooner had Tang Yue responded than Wei Jiajia came forward to help Tang Yue sit up. After the natural birth, she had been fatigued and slept for a while, but now she felt quite relaxed.

Mo Xiaolin and Zhang Hualian held the babies, and Wei Jiajia stood by. Even if Tang Yue wanted to see Si Yu leaving, his back was out of sight. She thought to herself, he looks alright, so there shouldn’t be any major issues.

Inside the ward, all the men had thoughtfully left, leaving only Mo Xiaolin, Zhang Hualian, Wei Jiajia, and Lian Tong.

Tang Yue felt a bit embarrassed, but feeding the baby was a natural instinct. Everyone’s concern now was whether the baby had milk to eat.

The two babies were held on either side but couldn’t suck out anything, leaving Tang Yue feeling sore. The babies pouted and started crying.

"It’s okay, make some formula for them for now. By evening, things might change," comforted Mo Xiaolin and Zhang Hualian, adept at coaxing children. Wei Jiajia skillfully prepared formula for both babies, saying, "Xiao Yue probably hasn’t eaten yet. Your stomach must be empty, where would the milk come from? Second Sister-in-law, did Second Brother make some pig trotter soup?"

"Yes, he did." Zhang Hualian brought out the Baoyuan Soup that Tang Zhengde had made while Tang Yue was sleeping, saying, "Xiao Yue, this Baoyuan Soup was specially prescribed by an old Chinese doctor. It’s good for your recovery and milk production."

"Oh." Tang Yue didn’t like bitter medicine, but she had to take it this time.

"Brother Meng, take your time to heal and accompany your little sister-in-law. We’ll handle the company matters."

Li Wei and Yan Dong were aware of Si Yu’s injury and coma, keeping themselves worried. They had been diligently managing the company’s issues, but still felt concerned.

Now, hearing that Si Yu had awakened and that Tang Yue had given birth, Li Wei and the others eagerly took on all company matters. Li Wei, Yan Dong, and Zhao Xiangqian had each become quite adept, capable of handling things independently.

Unless something particularly troublesome arose, Li Wei and his team could handle everything smoothly.

They assured Si Yu to focus on accompanying his little sister-in-law.

...

That night, Si Yu changed into a new set of clothes. He stood tall, revealing no hint of his previous injury. His hair had been cut short, and he appeared spirited. His face was clean, and his beard was shaved; he was back to his handsome and dashing self.

"Si Yu." Mo Xiaolin felt a bit embarrassed, but she had to address him directly rather than letting Zhang Hualian talk to her son-in-law.

"Mom, what’s up?" Si Yu was eager to see Tang Yue. Mo Xiaolin’s hesitant manner made him uneasy.

Mo Xiaolin cleared her throat and said, "Si Yu, the babies are small and weak, they can’t draw out the milk."

When Si Yu re-entered the ward, he found Tang Yue focusing on drinking the pig trotter soup, a great lactation aid. She needed to eat well so the babies could be satiated.

Zhang Hualian and Mo Xiaolin had obviously already discussed this. The ward was now occupied only by Tang Yue and Si Yu.

"Si Yu, you’re here." Tang Yue had regained much of her strength, her beautiful, bright eyes radiant once more.

"How are you feeling? Are you uncomfortable anywhere?" Si Yu sat on the bed, holding the bowl for her to ease her effort.

Tang Yue took this opportunity to relax her hands, eating a chunk of the pig trotter and getting her mouth greasy. She then said, "I’m fine, let me take a look at your injury."

"You can’t refuse me." After finishing the pig trotter, Tang Yue insisted on having Si Yu remove his clothes. Seeing the white bandages on his torso, she couldn’t determine how severe his injury was, though she was aware of it. Her big black and white eyes shifted, and she pouted, "You broke your promise again."

"My dear wife, I’m back safe and sound." Si Yu kissed her lips, which still carried the aroma from the pig trotters.

"Hey!" Tang Yue quickly pushed him away, anxiously saying, "What if Mom and the others come back!"

She shot him a fierce look, urging him to behave, fearing the embarrassment it would bring otherwise.

Si Yu got up and locked the door.

Tang Yue: "..."

"Xiao Yue, Mom said that Zaozao and Chenchen are too weak to suck milk, so she let me help," Si Yu stated seriously with an intense gaze.

Tang Yue’s face blushed instantly.

"Wife, we have both a son and a daughter now. Surely you’re not shy anymore?" Si Yu lowered his head, teasing her, staring at her adorable flushed face.

"No, it’s you who’s shy." Tang Yue refused to admit her shyness, clearing her throat, "If you want to help, hurry up."

Si Yu’s gaze dropped to Tang Yue’s well-fitted clothes.

"Um, maybe I should try expressing it myself." Under his heated gaze, Tang Yue hesitated, realizing the act now felt more awkward compared to their usual intimacy.
