Chapter 918: Why Are They So Cute?
Chapter 918: Chapter 918: Why Are They So Cute?
"Hey, can’t you take the stuff for your uncle and aunt back home yourself?" Zhang Tingyu glanced at the so-called food Zhang Minmin was bringing. Only a small portion was for her, most of it was for her uncle and aunt, which meant Zhang Minmin’s parents.
Food, drinks, clothes, necessities—all were things Zhang Minmin saved up little by little. For example, this tea was probably bought in Yun City.
This silk scarf, for instance, must have been bought in Su City.
And this special food from Hai City.
"I’m afraid." Whenever Zhang Minmin thought of her parents, she felt worried.
Even though her parents had accepted stuff from her before, every time Zhang Minmin bought something for home, it was always passed through Zhang Tingyu’s hands.
One, she was afraid of being scolded, and two, she had no time. She was busy filming every day. By the time she sent stuff home, it might have spoiled, or it would simply be inconvenient.
"Hey, make sure you take some time to go home for the New Year this year." Zhang Tingyu gave her a glare, considered the stuff received, and said, "At the end of the year, your dad turns fifty. As his daughter, you should go home, right?"
"I’ll go home."
Zhang Minmin nodded her head vigorously. She had long since decided on this matter. She freed up her schedule in advance. When joining the crew, she also discussed with the director that she would work hard, had no issues with working overtime or night shifts, as long as she could go home for a few days during New Year’s.
"Alright then." Zhang Tingyu nodded, saying, "You’ve made some achievements now; uncle and aunt won’t make it difficult for you."
"Tingyu is right. How many years has it been since you went home?" Tang Yue also disagreed with Zhang Minmin staying estranged from the family. After the college entrance examination, from Zhang Minmin starting at the bottom, it had already been three years. In her first year, she could barely afford to eat. Later, after filming more, her income increased, and most money she received went towards buying things to send home, besides her living expenses.
Later, after the drama Tang Yue set her up with became a hit, she earned even more, sending more stuff home each time, yet never daring to go back.
"Xiao Yue, Tingyu, don’t worry, I’ll definitely go back."
Reassured, Zhang Minmin expressed her certainty.
Only then were Tang Yue and Zhang Tingyu relieved. Tang Yue went back inside and brought out two boxes, similar to the one given to Zhang Minmin earlier, all bracelets. However, Minmin’s was a four-leaf clover, Tingyu’s was white magnolia, and her own was a sunflower. The three bracelets were part of the same series and very beautiful.
"You mentioned my birthday present, turns out everyone gets one." Although Zhang Minmin said this, she wasn’t displeased. On the contrary, she cherished the bracelet even more.
"Thank you." Zhang Tingyu didn’t say much, but the happy expression on her face showed she really liked it.
White magnolias, she really liked this flower.
"The three of us sisters, one each." Tang Yue also put on hers. When she visited Kaya Company, she took a liking to these three bracelets at once.
The ones bought for others were different. These three bracelets fit Minmin and Tingyu just right.
Happy times are always fleeting.
Zhang Minmin left with reluctance.
Zhang Tingyu, needing to work overtime at the office, also left early.
Tang Yue looked at the diapers Zhang Minmin sent, feeling puzzled. Why was Minmin so certain it should be diapers?
On December 30th, early in the morning, Tang Yue’s group set out for Hai City.
Tang Zhengde and Zhang Hualian, Tang Yue with Zaozao and Chenchen, Mo Xiaolin and Meng Jin. Meng Jin originally didn’t have time off, but this was his first time attending this wedding banquet as Meng Xiaolin’s husband.
To be able to attend the wedding banquet in Hai City, Meng Jin put in a lot of effort. Besides attending the banquet on the day, the rest of the time, Meng Jin had to report at the company in Hai City.
However, even so, Meng Jin was very satisfied.
Lian Qingyang had arranged the flights well in advance; all of it was first-class. Zaozao and Chenchen were so eager to get on the plane that Lian Qingyang even found two experienced accompanying doctors, to be well-prepared if any issues arose with Zaozao and Chenchen during the flight.
"Zaozao, Chenchen, we’re going on a plane." Tang Yue held Chenchen while Zaozao was held by Mo Xiaolin. The two doctors sat next to them, reminding them while the airplane hadn’t taken off yet that during takeoff and landing, let the kids drink milk or water to prevent issues.
The entire first-class cabin was booked by Lian Qingyang. Sitting with them, it was just perfect.
Soon, a flight attendant came by to remind them it was time for takeoff.
Tang Yue and Mo Xiaolin whispered to the children. Meanwhile, Tang Yue’s seat was curtained off to feed Chenchen, while Zaozao drank the prepared milk.
"Chenchen." Tang Yue gently called her name. Because Chenchen was hungry from waiting before the flight, she was gulping the milk down.
Zaozao pouted at the formula but didn’t make a fuss due to hunger.
The plane took off smoothly without any issues for Zaozao and Chenchen siblings. Tang Yue finally relaxed.
In the following time, Zaozao and Chenchen slept soundly in the arms of their grandmother and mother.
Tang Yue and Mo Xiaolin didn’t dare to lay the children down, fearing they’d feel uneasy without familiar scents.
Until landing, besides a bit of fussing, Zaozao and Chenchen were safe and sound without any discomfort.
"Our Chenchen and Zaozao are so well-behaved," said Tang Yue, happily kissing Chenchen and then Zaozao, watching them wave their small fists as usual, filled with joy.
At Hai City Airport.
Lian He came to receive them himself. Originally, Old Sir Lian wanted to come too, but being elderly and considering the cold weather, Lian He worried that Old Sir Lian might catch a cold and wouldn’t be able to see his great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Old Sir Lian had to give up and sent Lian He with Gu Chun instead.
Pregnant Lian Tong was looking forward to Tang Yue’s arrival with great anticipation.
"Dad, we’re here." Lian Qingyang waved at Lian He with a smile and said, "Uncle, you came too."
"Xiao Yang, Xiao Yue." Lian He was proud, the duo was his pride and joy.
That outstanding appearance, it was hard to match.
In Lian He’s heart, no child could compare to his own.
Lian He, overjoyed and excitedly looking at Tang Yue, soon had his gaze fixed on the two children. Not having seen them for a while, Zaozao and Chenchen seemed to have grown and become even more adorable.
