The girl beside her smiled radiantly. "We must really be fated to meet like this."

The girl laughingly extended her hand. "I’m Xiu Ruiyi. And you?"
Yunyi also extended her hand. "I’m Chuyunyi."
Admiration filled Xiu Ruiyi’s eyes. "Actually, on the train, I really wanted to get to know you. But since we had only met by chance, I was afraid it would be too abrupt, so I held back. I can’t believe we’ve run into each other again so soon!"
Yunyi had a good impression of this girl. "Are you from Beijing, or are you here on business?"
Xiu Ruiyi offered Yunyi one of her candied hawthorn sticks. "I’m from Beijing. A few days ago, I went to the army barracks to visit my brother. Here, try this. I bought it from a time-honored shop; I really love it."

Saying this, she reached into her bag—in reality, drawing three oranges from her space. "Courtesy demands reciprocity. Please have some oranges."
Xiu Ruiyi didn’t refuse and accepted them with a smile. "These oranges look so fresh! In that case, I won’t stand on ceremony."
The two young women chatted away, one sentence after another, thoroughly enjoying themselves, and quickly hit it off.
