Chapter 449: Alverto: Origins. Part-3.

’This place is similar to a sea of consciousness... unlike the upper floors this place is different...’

On the upper floors, the memory fragments were either hidden or were difficult to locate.

They were located in a small area and weren’t too important.

The important memories are stored in lower floors, just like how it was for floor 2.

’This entire area... no... perhaps this entire floor is a memory... but what is this place... everything here is pure white; it seems more like the interior of some kind of lab...’

’Why would a demon have a research lab as its most important memory?’

Demons are chaotic and violent; it’s very difficult to find a demon with proper sanity and a clear mind.

Even royal demons are highly affected by this same chaotic nature.

Miasma gives power to demons, but it’s also their biggest curse; anything affected by miasma is bound to become twisted, chaotic, and miserable.

Even though they thrive in miasma, that same miasma also corrupts and rots them from the inside out, making them twisted and chaotic.

’This place is giving a very dark vibe... as if it’s a memory of someone suffering from severe depression...’

Rio shook his head and stopped thinking further; he sensed the end of this long corridor with his sword intent that was spread in all directions and immediately quickened his pace.

The moment Rio stepped out of that long white corridor, he seemed to have entered another important memory fragment.

’This is the same snowfield... just a bit further away from that cave...’

Rio glanced around him and found that this time there were more trees in the area, and all of the trees were covered in thick snow.

’So, trees and normal vegetation still exist on the demon continent? ... Hmm, no... these are demonic trees; I can sense miasma concentrating inside them...’

’I see, so these are the trees from stories that attack passersby all of sudden out of nowhere and make horrifying human-like face on their trunk...’

Although there were thousands of such trees nearby, that wasn’t the most important thing; Rio found himself standing in front of a small house made of wood.

’Is it made from wood chopped off from demonic trees? Houses exist on demon continent too huh...’

The demon continent wasn’t really described much in the original novel; they only talked about demons being evil and always fighting with other races.

The original novel didn’t have any mention of demons being civilized enough to build a house or something like that.

’Well, the demon king does have a magnificent palace, though. I wonder how they even built it when there are barely any sane demons in the world...’

’Most demons aren’t even sane enough to care about such things like clothing or home, etc...’

Just as Rio was thinking about what to do next, the door of the small wooden house opened, and an extremely beautiful woman walked out of it.

She had two fox-like ears on her head that greatly increased her cuteness, her pure white dress fluttered in the cold breeze, and her pinkish fox tail looked extremely fluffy even from afar.

Although she was gorgeous, Rio wasn’t interested in that; instead, a frown appeared on his usually expressionless face.

’This presence... her aura matches that young werewolf girl!? What the!? How did she turn into a fox all of a sudden!?’

Rio was extremely shocked by this situation. He wasn’t expecting such a bizarre twist at all.

Demonic Werewolves are generally low-rank demons; most of them only reach rank C in their lifetime, but according to historical records from the past, it’s believed that they are descendants of some kind of higher demon.

Higher Demons are those who have the highest chance to reach S-rank in their lifetime; some of them even reach SS-rank occasionally.

’So that story of werewolves being descendants of some peak SS-rank demon king from the past were true?’

If she has really evolved into a higher level, then it won’t be wrong to consider her as a royal demon in this form.

In this form, she has enough talent to be equal to Alverto, and she can even aim for the throne of the demon king now.

’This is really shocking... I had no idea that ’that thing’ has the power to make lower-rank demons evolve to their primordial forms...’

’If this is true then I might have underestimated that ’thing’ greatly...’

A solemn expression appeared on Rio’s face; he knew that this was very bad news for humanity and the entire world.

If that SSS-rank existence has the ability to evolve demons to their primordial form, it can easily upgrade more demons to a higher level whenever it wants to.

Which simply means that it can create an entire army of S-rank Demons or possibly even create dozens of SS-rankers in one go!

Even if that ’thing’ personally doesn’t attack, it can just let its hundreds of SS-rank minions do the work.

All of them can easily outnumber all the SS-rankers of the association and destroy the entire existence of all civilizations on this planet.

’The more I get to know about it, the more horrifying the situation becomes... Are there more abilities that I don’t know about? Does it have more powers that no one has?’

’Just a single ability is already so overpowered... how did Fade even fight that creature in the original novel... if only I had read the final Chapters... sigh...’

’In fact, I seriously doubt whether Fade even won in the original novel... because I can’t really feel that he had a chance of winning...’

Rio sighed to himself and stopped thinking about it further.

The Fox Girl walked out of the house; even her walking posture was elegant and charming. Her long white legs made her look extremely beautiful; just looking at her could make a normal person fall for her due to her charm.

She raised her hand and used magic to ignite wood; she used the fire and used earth magic to make a pot.

Then she went back inside and came back with water and some food ingredients like meat, nuts, spices, etc.

She used them to make soup.

Even while cooking she was overflowing with charm; she looked like a goddess who seemed to be cooking divine food for her favored one.

’Hmm, so she can use magic now? Did evolving to a higher form also give her new abilities? I have no idea where she even got those spices... demon continent shouldn’t have them, right?’

Although the fox girl was indeed very beautiful and charming, Rio was completely unaffected by her charms; he was more focused on analyzing the situation.

’Hmm, this fragrance of food is good though...’

The fox girl poured the hot soup into a smaller bowl, which she made with her earth magic, and then took it back inside.

Rio walked over to the window and looked inside to see what was going on.

He noticed that the interior of the wooden house was very messy; there was a bed made of wooden logs with big leaves of some kind of tree, and Alverto was lying on it.

Unlike before, he was awake now.

He glanced at the fox girl bringing his soup, and a complicated look appeared on his handsome face.

"You... you are a demon, so why are you like this?... You don’t have that demonic presence to you either... a demon wouldn’t voluntarily take care of another demon..."

Alverto was confused by the fox girl’s kindness; he seemed to have never expected that there would be a ’kind’ demon out there.

Not just Alverto; in fact, even Rio himself was confused why this fox girl, who was a genuine demon, was so kind compared to other demons.

She seemed more like a normal person than an actual demon; she saved Alverto’s life.

Not only did she take care of his injuries, but she also stayed with him all the time till he woke up from his coma.

Even when ’that being’ came in contact with Alverto, she was still beside him and received its power together with him.

"Not ’You’... my name is Aurora. Hmm, well, I saw that you were injured and I just couldn’t let it be... that’s why I am taking care of you..."

Alverto simply couldn’t understand her words; being a demon, he just couldn’t fathom why she would just randomly decide to help a stranger who had nothing to do with her.

If it were any other demon, they would have already killed him and devoured his dead body when he was in that weak and injured state.

Devouring the blood and flesh of a royal demon makes ordinary demons stronger and can even give them a chance to ascend to a higher realm.

But despite all that, she didn’t do it.

She ignored her primal instincts to devour and kill; she suppressed her killing intent and took action according to her own free will.

She successfully suppressed the influence of miasmic corruption on her brain and soul; it won’t be wrong to call her an extremely rare exception!

"I am Alverto, a demon prince... well, I used to be. I was way to weak to compete with my siblings and got injured while having a duel with one of them..."
