Chapter 472: The Meeting... Part-3.

Chapter 472: The Meeting... Part-3.

Some of the S-rankers present noticed the trio, but after seeing Link among them, they stopped paying attention and continued doing whatever they were doing.

Everyone here knows that Link is Ashtel's son, so anyone he personally brings inside is likely not a threat, so there was no need for them to act.

Link and the others didn't care about being stared at and went on their way.

They passed through a series of corridors and doors and finally reached the core area of the mansion.

Link pushed open the door, and the other two followed him inside.

They arrived at the master room located right at the heart of the entire mansion; there were two beds placed inside, and several couches and chairs were placed beside them.

Ashtel and Jin were lying on the two beds, respectively, while everyone else was either sitting on the couch or the chairs.

Rio glanced at Ashtel and noticed that all of his physical injuries had already been healed, and the same was true for Jin too.

Syvis healed the two of them to full health, and now all that's left is for the two of them to recover their consciousness and their strength.

"You are awake, good. How are you feeling now?"

Raji was sitting on the sofa nearby and was sipping wine while staring at a huge pile of papers placed in front of her on the table.

The moment Rio entered the room, she used her mana sense to scan the trio before speaking.

Although she was busy dealing with major troubles and a massive amount of paperwork, she still took the duty of guarding Ashtel and Jin very seriously.

Even though it Link and the others who she personally knew, she still ran a scan just in case to check whether the three were real or some assassins disguised as them.

"I am fine now… thanks to the excellent healing and Lia's care, I am feeling quite good right now… I have been in a better state than this."

Rio was indeed severely injured, but he's not affected by miasma or corruption; all he suffered from was just some physical injuries, and he recovered from that easily with no side effects.

Raji nodded her head at Rio words.

The trio walked over and sat down. Link sat down with Riya, who was munching on candies while sitting beside Ashtel's bed on a couch.

Unlike when she was deprived of candies in the Spire of Ascension and had a sharp look in her eyes, she was now in a more easygoing and relaxed mood.

She was eating so many candies in depression because she was unable to further help Ashtel and Jin.

Rio and Lia, on the other hand, sat on the couch near Raji.

They glanced at Anna, who was sitting on a chair near Jin; she had dark circles under her eyes and was holding Jin's hand with a look of worry and anxiety.

Rio and Lia nodded their heads at her as a greeting, but Anna wasn't in the mood to reply and only nodded her head slightly.

The two of them didn't mind Anna not replying properly, as they knew that she was not in the right state of mind at the moment and they shouldn't trouble her more.

"Now that everyone who entered and came back from the spire of ascension is here, let's start the meeting without any delay."

Seeing that Rio and Lia had settled down, Raji pushed the documents on the table aside and spoke in a serious tone.

"I have already talked with Link, Riya and Lia; their statements have helped me figure out most of the situation. now only you are left…"

"Tell me whatever you know about that place. As you were the last one to leave that place and even met that demon prince, I expect information from you that can help me give an explanation to the common people…"

The entire nation is in a state of panic and widespread fear; Raji has to make an explanation and give the people some kind of hope to cling to.

A nation with no 'hope' and only fear in common public will not last long and will suffer serious irreparable damage to it.

"Sigh… What I am going to say might make the situation even more depressing, though…"

Hearing Rio's words, Raji and the others stiffened slightly, their eyes shook, and they mentally prepared themselves for the next words that Rio might say.

"First of all,… Riko, Fade, Kira, and that Demon Prince Alverto. These four individuals have died."

Rio's words made Raji's expression twist in agony, and she felt a major headache coming.

Riya put her hand on to cover her face and was even more depressed as she didn't even feel like eating her candies anymore.

Anna sighed deeply, and Link shook his head in helplessness.

Fade and Kira might not have much to do with them, but Riko's death was a tragic and unfortunate incident.

She was suffering her entire life and couldn't achieve even the slightest bit of happiness; her life was filled with tragedy till the very end.

"After Link and the others were teleported away, I made my way down to floor 7 and ascended to rank S mid-battle, causing Alverto to retreat."

"Then I chased him down to floor 0, where he was carrying out his main plan; he had prepared some kind of altar, and he placed Fade and Kira as sacrifices on it."

Rio glanced at Raji and spoke in his usual emotionless tone.

"I don't know what he had to do with Fade and Kira but he was trying to use them to activate that altar and achieve some kind of goal…"

"The moment I entered floor 0, I fought Alverto again and tried to find more information but he didn't speak about his plans…"

"All I know is that he was trying to use that altar to connect to some demons from outer space and try to bring them over to spread destruction…"

Rio shook his head and said,

"I don't know what his real plan was, but that is all I could find… even this bit I am not sure about, because he boasted that he will bring demons from outside and destroy everything…"

"I am not sure if he spoke these words to mislead me or he was telling the truth…"

At Rio's words, Raji's pupils constricted, and she immediately understood the gravity of the situation.

"Even if he only said those words to mislead you, we shouldn't ignore such a dangerous declaration. I will contact the Awakener association and send message to all SS-rankers over the world…"

"I will ask them to dispatch more SS-rankers to increase the safety of the solar system and patrol the outer borders of solar system to confirm whether there are any outer demons trying to infiltrate…"

Raji knew that if Alverto was really trying to gather outer demons to wreak havoc and managed to send a message to the SS-rank rogue demons roaming outside the solar system, they would swarm over here.

That will create a massive demon tide and might even ignite a massive war against the demons.

Even though nobody likely loves demons and tries to kill them as much as possible, no nation wants to wage wars that might get their high-ranked people killed in major numbers.

It's better if such a war never happens.

"Thankfully, Riko senpai managed to reach floor 0 and helped in destroying the altar while I held Alverto back…"

"Seeing that his plan was about to fail, Alverto self-destructed the entire spire of ascension in a last-ditch effort to die and bring us all down with him.

Rio sighed deeply at that moment and spoke.

"I used my sword intent to barely survive, but I couldn't protect anyone else and they all were swept away in the massive explosion…"

"I don't think any of them survived that when even I had such difficulty doing so… thankfully, Lia and others had already left the spire of ascension somehow, otherwise…"

Raji nodded her head at Rio's words; she knew just how talented Rio is, and if even he barely survived, then it's safe to assume the rest wouldn't have survived at all.

"Yeah, I was shocked when we suddenly got teleported out of the spire of ascension all of a sudden, but fortunately that sudden change saved our lives…"

Link sighed at that moment and patted Riya's head to calm his own anxiety.

Raji sighed and spoke in a solemn voice.

"Although it's not much information, at least it's been confirmed that the main cause of this disaster has already been killed…"

"Now I can at least give some words of consolation to the people of the empire… By the way, do you know anything about Neo and Liam's whereabouts?"

At Raji's question, Rio immediately shook his head.

"I have no idea about that… I didn't even see them once during that entire incident…"

Neo seized Liam's body, and the aura emitting from their combined form became completely unrecognizable; thus, even Rio and the others couldn't sense who Ashtel was fighting on the upper floors, despite sensing the aura.

Moreover, Ashtel eliminated the opponent and destroyed everything along with nearly 50 floors of the Spire of Ascension, causing most of the clues to get eliminated.

It was near impossible to find out what happened in that place and what caused Ashtel to suffer such severe injuries.

"We can conclude for now that the demon prince was planning on wreaking havoc and that was his main goal… His behavior resembles usual demons no doubt…"

Raji shook her head and spoke in a depressed tone.

"What I am most worried about… not only me, but the entire world… what everyone is worried about right now is, 'What actually caused Ashtel Rex to get so injured?'…"

"If there is something that can injure him, then the entire SS-rank group will have to be cautious in the future about it…"

The main source of the fear and panic isn't that Alverto massacred hundreds of thousands of people across the globe with his subordinates.

The main problem is that the entire world knows that the world's strongest has been injured.

Raji glanced at Ashtel and sighed.

"If only I was strong enough to replace his presence…"
