James, her father who had entered with her, was nowhere to be seen; his absence was also a way of the dungeon to tell her that this decision was only hers and hers to make; others could not help her in the matter of this major decision.

Kai, Rahn, Nova, etc. none could understand the reason behind Lia’s stubborn decision to not retreat; even she could not understand all of it herself, let alone anyone else.

Laying there in the pool of her own blood, Lia felt extremely clearheaded in that moment.
