While many notifications bombarded her mind, Lia’s head became filled with an immense amount of knowledge.
She understood many techniques and skills that she had no idea about before, and she understood the conditions to create the sword of promised destinies in even more detail through the knowledge that she inherited from Astra.
And Lia finally found out the true name of this powerful mythical artifact.
’Sword of Promised Destinies, Pratigya!’
The word ’Pratigya’ itself means ’oath’ or ’vow.’
The Sword of Promised Destinies represents the ’Vow’ and ’Oath’ made by Astra to protect the world, its first creator! And that’s why it is named ’Pratigya!’
Although King Allen had lost despite having this great artifact, Lia understood that this powerful artifact was not weak by any means at all.
If the world were a computer and the strings of destiny were the source codes on which this computer worked, then this mythical artifact would be like a ’permission’ granting ’key.’
It could enable the ’admin’ perks for you, and using it, you can make the computer do anything you want!
After understanding the power of this artifact in more detail, Lia finally understood how weird it was that King Allen actually ended up losing despite literally having every power imaginable at his disposal!
This thought drove Lia to wonder about the question that had been bugging her for a while now.
’What could possibly be lurking inside the Sea of Miasma that can defeat an insanely powerful being like King Allen in a head-on battle!?’
The strings of destiny connect everything in existence with the ’origin’ and the ’world,’ and having access to the power of these strings is already the highest form of strength imaginable.
But King Allen still got defeated?
This question made Lia realize how insignificant a human’s life was in front of a mighty powerhouse like the Sea of Miasmic Corruption.
It was really a hegemon that could easily shatter galaxies at whim and kill trillions of beings in a matter of a mere millisecond.
’A true world-destroying disaster with nothing to stop it... this is what the sea of endless miasma is...’
Aside from the knowledge about crafting this weapon, Lia also got a lot of knowledge about how Astra’s various skills and abilities work.
’Once I go back home... I need to slowly digest all these knowledge and experiences and turn them all into my own skills...’
’Inheritance that contains more than millennia’s worth of knowledge is really too vast for me to understand in just a day or two...’
As Bela transferred all of her knowledge to Lia, her body started to slowly fade away into nothingness.
"Although I don’t know if I should feel happy about learning a suic*dal weapon crafting ability, I must say that the rest of your inheritance is rather helpful to me..."
"Thank you, Bela Anant... We never got to meet in person as you existed a thousand years ago, but I shall respect you as my mentor..."
"Don’t expect me to be a heroine though; I won’t sacrifice my life for the world like you..."
Hearing Lia’s words, Bela smiled gently as she patted Lia’s shoulder with her fading hand.
"I am sorry Lia... despite being blessed with so many favors... I couldn’t bring a brighter future to the innocent children of the world like you..."
"But I hope that one day... someone even stronger than King Allen will come and destroy this darkness completely!"
"What I and King Allen couldn’t do... I hope that a child of the future might be able to do someday... I may not be around to see it happen but I will remain hopeful to the very end..."
As Bela’s figure faded completely out of existence, she smiled with tears in her beautiful eyes as she said,
"Live a happy life Lia... and if possible, pass on this knowledge to the next generations if you find someone worthy enough of inheriting it..."
"After all, at least some ’hope’ must keep existing no matter what..."
Even until the end, Bela did not lose hope; until the very end, she kept hoping that there would be a day when the world would be free from the terror of miasmic corruption.
Lia could only sigh at this.
’Is this what a true ’hero’ is like?...’
Even until the very end, Bela only cared about the others and never even considered her own feelings.
It was almost as if she had no selfish thoughts of her own and she had completely devoted her entire existence to saving the world.
’Sigh... I can never be like that even if I forced myself to behave in such a way... after all... unlike you, I am not a ’Hero’... I am just an ordinary girl who wants to live peacefully with her loved ones...’
Lia had no such big ambitions like Bela and King Allen; all she wanted was just to live happily with her loved ones until she got old and eventually died peacefully in her loved ones’ presence.
Saving the world? Sacrificing your entire existence for people who you don’t even care about? Leaving everything she loves behind?
Lia refused to do something like that even in her dreams.
’Although I cannot be a ’Hero’ like you hoped for... I can at least pass down your knowledge to someone who’s more worthy of it than me...’
Lia didn’t want to sacrifice herself, but that didn’t mean there was a scarcity of real good people in the world.
If someday in the future she meets someone who awakens the ’Ascended Sou’ ability just like her, she would transfer Astra’s mission to that person.
’Sigh... ignorance is bliss... I was still carefree until I didn’t know all this... now I will have to worry about the sea of miasma in the future; what a headache...’
Just when Lia was feeling a bit unhappy, her sea of consciousness suddenly felt comfortable as a familiar power appeared to help it recover.
’Hmm?... This is... Rio’s Sword Intent!? He’s here!? I must wake up now!’
The moment Lia sensed Rio’s power, all the worries and troubles vanished as she felt excited to meet him again!
"Keke, I am going to surprise him with how much I have learned this time!"
It had been a while since she saw him, and she was finally able to reach the same realm as him; she had no more need to feel disappointed in her strength!
So she was quite excited to flaunt her newfound powers in front of him.
What Lia didn’t know was that Rio was already just one step away from reaching rank SS now, and she was still going to be far behind him!
But well, that’s a story for another time.
