Chapter 717: The Vacation Begins! Part-1.

With the convoy of cars, the group reached a massive, circular-shaped, silverish-white-colored building located exactly at the center of Island Felina.

Riku led the way forward as he introduced the place to everyone.

"This is the main awakener’s association headquarters building of our nation; we call it the Silver Colosseum!"

"The association staff and other members of the awakener’s association have their offices located on the underground floors of this building..."

"The structure you see above ground is a massive colosseum that is often used to organize local tournaments and competitions nowadays..."

Hearing those words, Link hurriedly asked with excitement in his eyes,

"Can I participate too? I want to fight various warriors of the beastfolk race!"

Hearing Link’s words, Riku replied awkwardly,

"Err... I am talking about tournaments held for low-rank warriors; if S-rankers fought inside this place, it would be destroyed after they exchange just a few moves..."

"Moreover, I have heard enough tales about your strength, Link Rex... this colosseum is too fragile for you..."

Hearing those words, Link could only sigh as he felt a bit disappointed.

Seeing him like that, Rio patted the fellow on the shoulder as he spoke in his usual emotionless tone.

"You should have told me if you were itching for a beating, I would have properly beaten you before coming here..."

Link rolled his eyes at those words.

"I won’t be beaten so easily... but you are right; I was too busy hanging out with Riya recently, so I forgot about sparring..."

Ignoring the two kids chatting in the back, Riku led the group inside the giant colosseum.

While passing through the corridors of the Colosseum, Rio and the others got to see the massive open ground of the Colosseum where several low-rank individuals were sparring with each other and practicing their skills.

Most of them were from the feline tribe, but there were also a few people from the other beastfolk tribes.

Although the various beastfolk tribes were at odds with each other over important matters like resource allocation and economic growth, people of the various tribes were free to travel between the various islands of the Beast Archipelago without many restrictions.

Thus, even though the majority of the population of Island Felina consists of the Feline tribe, other beastfolk also live in this place, and the same is true for other islands too.

"The meeting will be held a week later, and there is still plenty of time before that, so I have already arranged a place for you all to stay and rest..."

Following Riku while listening to his words, everyone took a big elevator that took the group straight to the staff dormitories.

The lower floors of the building were mostly just staff dormitories, and the floor that Riku brought everyone to was purposely emptied beforehand just so Rio and the others could stay there comfortably.

"This meeting is a top-secret matter, so unfortunately we can’t arrange for you all to stay in some luxurious hotel, as that would increase the chance of the news leaking out..."

"Originally I was only expecting Sir Ashtel, but since you all are here too, we will have to follow proper security measures..."

Originally only Ashtel was supposed to be here for the meeting.

If Ashtel had to come alone, he would have come to the beast archipelago on the exact day of the meeting.

Then he would have returned back home the very same day whenever the meeting ended; thus, there was no need to stay or book a hotel at all.

Most of the SS-rankers that were going to attend the meeting were also instructed to follow this same method of arriving at the exact date and then returning home right away.

The main reason why Ashtel even came so early was because Link and the others wanted to go on a vacation.

"When Sir Ashtel notified us that you all were also coming with him, we decided to make proper arrangements for you; you all can stay here in these dormitories until the meeting is concluded..."

"We have prepared local clothes and some accessories for you all that would help you all disguise better and blend in with the others..."

Saying those words, Riku glanced at Miki, and as if understanding his signal, she brought out several keys from her space ring and handed one key to everyone.

The key chain had the dorm room number engraved on it so as to make it easy for the user to find their own room.

"You all change and disguise yourself first; after you are done, Miki will take you all to explore the various local tourist spots..."

"Sir Ashtel and I have other matters to deal with, so we will take our leave here. You kids play and enjoy yourselves..."

Riku patted his daughter on the head as he spoke.

"You have been training continuously for a long while too; take this as an opportunity to rest. having a proper work-life balance is just as important..."

With that said, Riku waved his hand, opened a teleportation portal, and looked at Ashtel before saying,

"Shall we go?"

Ashtel nodded his head and followed the other party to the portal, but before leaving, he waved his hand to the group of kids to say bye and spoke,

"Enjoy your hard-earned vacation. I am off to work; after a week, I will return here to pick you all up."

With that said, Ashtel left for work with Riku, leaving Rio and the others behind to fend for themselves.

"Phew~ Finally I can relax a bit..."

Once Ashtel and Riku left, Miki took a long breath of relief.

"When Father is around, I always end up feeling so tense and restrained. Now that he’s gone to work, I can also relax a bit."

It’s not that Miki dislikes her father or anything; it’s just that she respects him too much and thus tries to do better whenever he’s around, which is quite stressful.

"I personally prepared the clothes for you all; I am quite sure you all would like it! Lia, Riya, you two come with me. I have an entire room full of clothes for you two; choose the one that you like the best from them all!"

The girls were so excited about clothes and stuff that they completely ignored Link and Rio and hurried away in excitement.

Rio and Link could only stare at each other awkwardly for a while before going to their own rooms to change.
