Rio’s words truly shook Lia to her very core.

Remembering how much hard work she had to do to barely reach rank S by walking a thin line of life and death, Lia felt it unbelievable that someone could improve so easily and breakthrough several realms on a whim!

In the entire history of the world, there has likely been no one who has risen as fast as Rio; even King Allen Von Reinhart didn’t advance as fast as him.

It was as if no such thing as ’bottlenecks’ or ’limits’ existed in Rio’s dictionary; his realm was like a rocket, rising through the sky and piercing the heavens at a speed that no one else could keep up with.

Even King Allen had only managed to reach the realm of demi-gods at the age of 21! That’s a difference of more than three years!

Thinking about this, Lia felt extremely helpless.

’At this point, I feel like trying to keep up with Rio is just a pointless dream of mine; he’s too talented... do I even deserve to be comparing myself to him?’

Rio smiled lightly at Lia and spoke,

"I went to the spirit realm; that place is filled with miasma to the brim, and as you know, miasma is quite beneficial for me..."

"Going to that place helped me skip a lot of the time needed to break through; that’s why I managed to reach the peak of rank S so fast."

"It’s not that you are slow; I am just too good at cheating my way through the ranks, so it appears like I am riding a rocket and rushing straight through the sky..."

Hearing those words, Lia pouted a bit and spoke grudgingly.

"Hmph! You don’t need to make up words to console me; I know myself that I am likely the least talented in the entire team Astra. Even Kira had more talent than me..."

"But I won’t admit defeat just because of that! I will eventually reach the rank of demi-gods too, sooner or later, anyway!"

At those words, Rio nodded his head.

"Now that’s the Lia I know! Hardworking and relentless... ah~ you are going to make me fall all over again for you if you show such a cute expression~"

That determined expression on Lia’s beautiful face was just too adorable for Rio to resist, and he couldn’t help but kiss Lia to express his emotions in the moment.

Lia lightly jabbed Rio on the side to complain about the sudden attack but didn’t resist as her cheeks reddened a bit.

"Idiot, stop saying such embarrassing things out loud..."

Thankfully, the car finally arrived at Silver Mansion, causing Rio to back off, and Lia finally managed to get a chance to breathe.

’Tch, bast*rd! who kisses so aggressively! almost drove me breathless!’

Once the duo got out of the car, they were greeted by James, who was standing near the front door with the maids following behind him.

"You two are finally back! I have been worried about your safety."

"You guys really have some unbelievable bad luck to be encountering the Demon King himself when on a casual vacation trip; thankfully, Sir Ashtel was with you lot..."

James heaved a sigh of relief after seeing that the two of them were still intact and in one piece, before speaking with a tone filled with lingering fear.

"To be honest, I am surprised you lot managed to stand your ground; if it was me, I would have sh*t my pants right away once I came face to face with the demon king..."

Hearing those words, Lia gave James a disgusted look as if she were looking at a weirdo before glancing at Rio and saying,

"About borrowing the basement, talk it out with Father yourself. I am off to my room; I need Mel to fix my hair that you messed up..."

Saying that, Lia left with Mel and the other maids, causing James to frown.

"Why is she in such a grumpy mood all of a sudden?"

Hearing that question, Rio shrugged his shoulders and replied in his usual emotionless tone,

"Maybe because the first thing you mentioned was ’Sh*t’ the moment we came back home? You really need to be more tactful, you know..."

James scratched the back of his head in confusion and asked,

"Err... was it such a terrible joke? My fellow colleagues do say that I tell terrible dad jokes, but I wonder if they are really that bad..."

Ignoring James’s words, Rio changed the topic.

"By the way, lend me the key to one of the lowest basement rooms in this mansion..."

At Rio’s words, James asked back in confusion,

"What are you going to do in my basement?"

At that question, Rio didn’t bother answering properly.

"Nothing much... just some shady stuff..."

"Are you lending it to me or not? If you decline, I will go tell Lia about those weird and questionable ’potions’ you have been hiding in your secret stash..."

Hearing those words, James hurriedly brought out a key from his space ring and gave it to Rio before saying in a polite,

"N-no need to mention the secret stash; it’s a secret between us father-in-law and son-in-law, okay..."

"Take this new tea recipe I found recently as hush money and let me off the hook..."

Rio’s eyes shone as he took the recipe book and spoke.

"Oh, you do have some keen eyes. Don’t worry, your secrets are safe with me, dear father-in-law... Welp, I am off; I have to try this new recipe!"

Seeing Rio hurry off with the recipe book, James wiped the sweat from his forehead, shook his head in dismay,

"Tch, my daughter has really found a troublesome husband for herself..."
