Chapter 1246: The Handsome Doctor ( 1246 )
After a while.
Liana was pushing Gracelle in a wheelchair out of the ICU toward Zone One. Gracelle’s eyes gleamed with curiosity and excitement as she sat in the chair, watching the wheels move beneath her. She glanced back at Liana, then down at the wheels again, fascinated by how smoothly they rolled.
Myra, Kalea, Juria, and the other healers followed from behind, maintaining a respectful distance.
Liana smiled softly, seeing how Gracelle kept looking at the wheels as they moved.
"Miss Liana... what is this?" Gracelle’s eyes lit up as she glanced back at Liana before examining the moving wheels again.
Liana smiled softly. "This is called a wheelchair. It helps people who are still too weak to walk move around comfortably."
"Oh~" Gracelle nodded, her eyes still fixed on the wheels, watching them spin and roll with each push.
Liana exhaled quietly.
She’s this excited just from seeing a wheelchair?
Sigh... I wonder how she’ll react when she tastes chocolate, or sees all of Young Master’s inventions and how advanced Armand has become. Not just the beautiful, wide cobblestone roads that now stretch across all of Armand and are being rebuilt in Arjam, but also the Pekko carriages, the mana helicopters, or even the Holo TVs and Holo cameras.
If she sees a mana phone... I wonder how amazed she’ll be.
Liana glanced down at Gracelle.
"Gracelle... don’t get too excited over small things. You need to be careful so the IV doesn’t get tangled, and you don’t strain yourself."
"Mm... okay~ But this thing is super cool~"
"Yes, yes~ Now you’re about to meet the one you’ve been waiting to see for so long."
The moment they stepped out of the building, Gracelle raised a hand to shield her eyes, squinting slightly as she adjusted to the bright sunlight she hadn’t seen directly in years.
In the courtyard, not too far away, she saw two figures standing under the morning light.
One was already sobbing softly, her hands clasped tightly over her mouth, while the other stood with a relieved, tired expression that slowly softened into a smile.
"Mother!!" Gracelle’s voice was still a bit weak, but filled with pure joy and excitement. "Father!!"
Sylvia, already overcome with happy tears, rushed toward her. She knelt down carefully in front of the wheelchair, pulling Gracelle into a gentle, tender embrace.
"Gracelle... thank goodness..." Sylvia whispered between soft sobs, her voice trembling with relief. "I’m so glad... so relieved you’re safe and recovering..."
Gracelle smiled, returning her mother’s hug as best as she could. "Mm... Thank you for not giving up on me. I’m so sorry for worrying you both... It’s a miracle that the people from Armand came and healed me."
Sylvia pulled back gently, her hands cradling Gracelle’s face as she looked into her eyes. "I’m glad... I’m truly glad, Gracelle. I never lost hope, but seeing you like this... healthy and smiling again... it’s more than I ever dreamed of."
Liana watched calmly as Sylvia and Gracelle shared their emotional reunion, a faint, satisfied smile on her lips.
She turned when she noticed Myra and the other healers turn in unison, placing their palms over their left chests and bowing deeply.
"Your Highness," they said in a respectful chorus.
Liana glanced over and saw Javier walking toward them with a perfect, royal stride, looking exceptionally handsome in his official Armand attire. He was accompanied by Gloria, who walked on his right side in her maid dress, and Princess Felicia on his left, both elegant and poised. Behind Felicia, Mimi followed in her princess outfit, and behind Gloria, Delya stood gracefully in her own formal dress.
Liana glanced at Sylvia, who smiled warmly and gave Gracelle’s cheek a quick kiss before pulling away and standing up, offering a proper noble bow along with Lord Rolland. Liana gently turned Gracelle’s wheelchair to face the direction of the approaching group.
Javier stopped at a respectful distance and smiled warmly.
Gracelle was stunned, her eyes wide as she took in the sight of the incredibly handsome young man before her.
Liana smirked before leaning down and whispering to Gracelle, "He’s handsome, right?"
Gracelle, still speechless, could only stare in awe, her mouth slightly agape.
Liana signaled Myra to take over the wheelchair and moved gracefully toward Javier, stopping in front of him to give a perfectly graceful bow.
"Your Highness. Allow me."
Javier tilted his head in curiosity.
Hmm? Why is Liana suddenly treating me so formally? She’s never addressed me as "Your Highness" like this before.
Liana turned to face Gracelle and made a graceful gesture toward Javier.
"Gracelle, this is the doctor who saved your life. The Prince of Armand, the inventor of all the wonders you’ve seen. He is also my fiancé. You may address him as ’Your Highness.’ He is also the next in line to the throne of Armand."
Javier’s smile twitched slightly.
I wonder what’s wrong with Liana today?
Did she hit her head on something on the way to the ICU? Or did she eat something weird? Or is she still mad at me?
But... I didn’t do anything wrong...
Gracelle tried to stand up but was gently stopped when the handsome man raised a palm in a calm, graceful gesture, signaling her to remain seated.
She nodded in understanding and gave a proper, elegant noble curtsy from her seated position, her hands folded gracefully.
"It is a great honor to meet you, Your Highness," she said softly, her voice filled with sincerity. "I owe you my life and humbly extend my deepest gratitude for saving me. I will forever be in your debt."
Javier was about to scratch the back of his head out of habit when Gloria subtly smirked and held his hand, reminding him to maintain his royal composure. He adjusted his posture with a soft exhale and returned the greeting with a warm, princely tone.
"It is my honor to have been able to assist in your recovery. There is no need for formalities, Miss Gracelle."
"Thank you, Your Highness." Gracelle smiled and gave another proper curtsy. "I feel deeply indebted to you and will do my best to repay your kindness in any way I can."
Javier fell silent and tilted his head slightly in confusion.
Err... Does she not remember me?
Or is it because of her memory? Did the illness affect her mind?
But I checked her eyes and her mental state before. There were no signs of amnesia or cognitive impairment. Everything was clear and functioning normally.
So why... doesn’t she recognize me?
