Chapter 1387: Something for Everyone ( 1387 )
Gloria stepped forward, closing the distance between herself and Javier. She leaned in slightly from the side, letting her breast brush casually against his arm as she peeked at the bag with a teasing smile.
“Ara~ It’s rare for you to buy something for us, Young Master. What’s the occasion?”
Javier smiled, glancing down at her. “Just felt like it.”
Before he could say more, Liana moved in from behind, pressing her breast gently against his back as she leaned her chin on his shoulder, peeking at the bag from the side.
“So? What did you buy for us, Young Master?”
Delya drifted forward, her dreamy eyes fixed on the bag as she peeked her head inside with quiet curiosity. Gracelle shuffled shyly toward him, her eyes darting away as she fidgeted, standing just close enough to catch a glimpse without being too forward.
Javier reached into the bag, pulling out a neatly wrapped package. He smiled as he handed it to Delya.
“I spotted a demon merchant selling this at the market. I know it’s been a while since you last visited the Demon Nation, so I thought you might want a taste of home.”
Delya’s dreamy eyes widened as she slowly took the package, her fingers tracing the wrapping before she opened it. Her breath caught softly, and a gentle, happy murmur escaped her lips.
“Murdame…”
She looked up at Javier, her eyes shimmering with warmth. “Thank you, Danna-sama.”
She stepped forward, wrapping her arms around him in a tender hug before planting a quick kiss on his cheek, then another softly on his lips. She pulled back with a blissful smile and walked toward a nearby chair, sitting down gracefully. She took out one piece and bit into it slowly, her eyes fluttering closed in quiet delight.
Javier smiled, then reached into the bag again, pulling out another small package. He turned toward Gracelle, his voice gentle.
“I wasn’t sure what you’d like, Gracelle, so I picked this up from a stall at the Armand eastern border town market. I hope you like it.”
Gracelle, still shy, tried her best to take the bag, her fingers brushing against his hand before she finally grasped it. Her cheeks flushed, and she mumbled a quick “Thank you” before scurrying over to where Mimi was sitting, happily enjoying her Kuchiki.
Mimi looked up, her mouth full, and grinned. “Nyaaaa! It’s been so long since I ate this…”
Gracelle opened the bag carefully, pulling out a soft, golden-brown bun. She examined it for a moment before taking a careful bite. Her eyes widened in surprise as the sweet, fruity jam filling spread across her tongue. A small, genuine smile touched her lips as she began to enjoy it.
Mimi, still chewing on her Kuchiki, glanced over and sniffed the air. Her ears perked up.
“Nya? Jam Pan!”
She lunged toward Gracelle, reaching for the bun, but Gracelle quickly pulled it away, holding it protectively to her chest. She glanced at Mimi’s Kuchiki, then back at her own bun, before speaking shyly.
“Um… if you want to try mine… we could trade. Your Kuchiki looks delicious…”
Mimi’s eyes lit up. “Nya! Deal!”
They exchanged treats, each taking a bite of the other’s snack. Mimi’s eyes lit up as she chewed the Jam Pan, while Gracelle’s cheeks flushed with quiet happiness as she tasted the Kuchiki for the first time.
While Delya and Felicia sat nearby, sharing their treats with quiet, content smiles, Gloria narrowed her eyes at Javier, crossing her arms beneath her breast with an exaggerated pout.
“Ara~ I see how it is, Young Master. The young ones get all the treats, while us ‘old’ wives are left out in the cold.” She fakes a sniffle, turning her head away with theatrical flair. “And here I thought I was special to you~”
Javier chuckled, glancing at Gloria before turning to Liana, who was smiling softly beside him.
“I haven’t forgotten about you two.” He reaches into the large bag at his feet and pulls out two separate, neatly wrapped packages. “I actually bought you both something even more special from the Elven border town market. I figured you’d appreciate a taste of home.”
Gloria took the packages, a genuine smile spreading across her lips. She leaned up and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, whispering near his ear, “Thank you, Young Master~” before gracefully walking toward the table where the others were gathered. She set down the large package and began unwrapping it with delicate, curious fingers.
Liana remained standing before Javier, her eyes meeting his. He smiled down at her, warmth in his gaze. Without a word, she reached up, grabbed his collar, and pulled him into a deep, passionate kiss. Her lips moved against his with quiet intensity, conveying everything words couldn’t say. After a long moment, she pulled back, her voice soft and sincere.
“Thank you.”
She wrapped her arms around him, pressing herself against his chest in a warm, lingering hug.
Meanwhile, Buddy waddled over to the grill, a smug smirk on his beak. He snatched a raw slab of meat from the platter with his beak, dropped it onto the portable grill, letting out a series of satisfied squawks as it started to sizzle.
“Cuquawked~”
Javier smiled, glancing over at Buddy, who was now snatching another slab of meat and dropping it onto the grill with a proud squawk. He turned back to Liana, his expression softening.
“By the way, you have a guest.”
Liana rolled her eyes, letting out a soft exhale. “Lyzia, right?”
“Mm… yes. She insisted on coming along.”
Liana smiled, her gaze sweeping the courtyard. “Where is she now?”
“She’s accompanying Celine to meet Father.”
Liana nodded slowly, a thoughtful look in her eyes. “So, this new addition to your wives… her name is Celine?”
Javier averted his eyes, rubbing the back of his neck with a slightly sheepish expression.
“There were… circumstances. It’s not like I wanted it to happen, or had much of a choice. Things just… escalated.”
Liana rolled her eyes again, a playful glare mixed with a hint of suspicion crossing her face. A slight smirk tugged at her lips before she shook her head and turned, walking gracefully toward the table to set down her package.
Javier glanced at her, his voice cautious. “You’re not mad…?”
Liana turned, narrowing her eyes at him. “Even if I were mad, what could I do? My husband has such a… demanding appetite, after all.” Her gaze flickered down toward his crotch briefly before meeting his eyes again, her smirk widening. “Besides, you’re a royal. It’s only natural for a ‘future king’ to have more than one wife.”
She walked toward the grill, picking up the tongs and giving Buddy’s beak a gentle tap. Buddy let out an indignant squawk, stepping back. She glanced over her shoulder, her voice carrying a teasing edge.
“As long as you don’t forget your first love, and as long as you promise to treat everyone equally…” She paused, her smirk deepening. “And as long as I still get my special privileges as the first wife~”
