Chapter 1391: True possibility

Michael found himself transcending speed itself. He didn’t arrive behind the Unity Creature. He was there from the very beginning.

And it was at this point that the Unity Creature turned its body to look at him, seemingly surprised at his sudden appearance. Then, its legs tried to summon that very same Aubility Power that it was before, using it to teleport away from Michael.

But before it even arrived a hundred meters away, Michael was already there, behind it.

No matter how many times that the Unity Creature tried to move away and dodge from Michael’s unrelenting pursuit, it still could not find a way to get Michael off of its tracks.

Michael, at this point, raised up his Unity Saber in the air.

And this time, he used the same principle that he had with his new and improved version of the Quantum Step.

This time, he used the technique in accordance with his Nascent Armor.

Soon, golden nanoparticles simmered atop his hands, slowly morphing and flowing down into his fingers and eventually into the very iron block switch that had served as his weapon’s handle.

Behind his hand, small thrusters appeared. It had exhausts, like that of a jet which would release a burst of Unity and Aubility Power at the moment which Michael needed it, allowing him to unleash a tremendous power in a single go.

"QUANTUM.... SLASH!" He shouted with all of his body.

His body immediately disappeared, giving the Unity Creature not even a single moment to react. Then, he appeared behind it, with his hands raised up and ready to unleash the Quantum Slash in his hands.

One second, his hands were up. And the next, an entire arc of pure orange burning light clouded Michael’s entire body, aiming straight towards the Unity Creature’s body.

It hit his target perfectly, with the arc of pure destruction and reality-warping power hitting the Unity Creature in its back.

For a second, the creature wailed. But Michael was pretty sure that it was actually the sounds of the solid Unity Armor that it wore being torn into shreds by the combined power of Aubility and Unity itself.

Not only that, but the speed at which Micheal unleashed it simply added up to the overall strength of the slash itself, thereby more than doubling its original power!

A slight crack echoed out, before spurts of prismatic globules bursted out of the Unity Creature’s body from where it was being dissected.

The Quantum Slash bifurcated the entire creature, sending the two halves of its body floating in the air, leaking out the Unity energy inside its body.

Then, it exploded. Into a flurry of differently colored mana globules, akin to the firework festivals that Michael started in the Nation of Reborn.

It was at this point that the other Unity Creatures finally took notice of Michael.

The Mini Drones take their attention away from Michael. But even when unleashing a barrage of Unity Guns, the Unity Creatures did not take their eyes away from the very man who destroyed one of their own.

Michael willed his Unity Drones to come closer to him.

And soon, an entire hive of his floating mechanized robots coalesced towards him. He was now commanding them personally, making sure that they were going to move exactly the way that he commanded them to.

With the other four Unity Creatures looking his way, he needed all the help he could get.

Then, it happened. The creatures attacked with absolute speed. The bottom of their soles glowed with Unity as they charged at Michael.

Using the true Quantum Step, he dodged away from their attacks. But soon after, one of the creatures quickly turned and raised its fist to punch at him.

The creature’s fists glowed with the power of Unity as well, imitating a Quantum Slash.

It unleashed this punch, sending forth a spherical blob of orange destruction towards Michael.

Michael raised his Unity Saber and deflected the attack with his own Quantum Slash, before ’stepping’ away again as a new Unity Creature bore down on him from behind.

He wanted to immediately counter-attack, but his opponents were relentless in their pursuit of him.

The Unity Creatures were no ordinary opponents. They seemed to have some sort of intelligence and cooperation.

Even though he was much faster than them, they were using their sheer numbers to simply overwhelm him.

Michael knew that he needed to evolve his movements as well. Not just a simple, two dimensional move. But an actual form that would allow him to use his swordstyle to his advantage.

And so, he used the pressure of all four Unity Creatures to forge his own, new move.

Yes, his Quantum Step was incredibly fast. But it was still so basic. So simple. He must use it in a real fight, where improvisation and combat were working hand to hand.

And soon, he let himself use his instincts.

He began to incorporate his new swordstyle, Quantum Evolution, to his movements. He wanted to have the same defensive forms that he used, but with the added effect of the Quantum steps!

With this in mind, his Nascent Armor began to morph once again. The golden nanoparticles became ever so transient. It was changing with every single move of Michael.

If he was using his left foot to veer to the left, it would focus its power to that part of his body.

And if he were to pivot immediately to a counter-attack, his golden nanoparticles moved with him, now reinforcing his Unity Saber for a burst of attack.

This was the true use of his Nascent Armor!

Now, he was seeing its true potential. Instead of a static, golden armor. It was more of a liquid-like consistency, which was constantly moving and flowing in accordance to his needs.

Thanks to this change, he no longer struggled to fight against the barrage of the Unity Creatures encasing him.

Now, he wasn’t just fast. He was swift!

Like a fly that kept on moving in quick directions as he juggled the Unity Creatures with ease!
