Chapter 1397: Preparation for the expansion
Michael prepared heavily for their expansion in the Elite Society. They didn’t just overhaul their entire inventory, but they also made sure that it fit directly with the needs and wants of those people.
And of course, since their focus would be on reintroducing the automobiles to the market in the Upper Queens region, he decided to have the Yellow Mankey Engineers start to create much faster cars.
They were luxurious and fit exactly with the tastes of the elite. Michael, of course, drew inspiration from the supercars back on Earth. He also did a little bit of copying with their kind of advertisement style.
They were unlike the normal automobiles, which were just advertised to work reliably. These supercars should be the very definition of luxury and wealth.
And just like Castelle suggested, they made these supercars extremely limited in quantity. Basically something that they would only use for the eventual car racing that was going to happen in their inaugural opening of their company in the Upper Queens region.
They were not going to sell it. In fact, they would be telling people that it was not for sale. This would make the supercars that much more desirable, because they were not something that anyone else had. Basically a collectible.
Just like before, there were also some accompanying rare cards being sold with each unit. These cards were just like those famous rare cards back on earth. But instead of rare and cute animals, now it had rare supercars that had yet to be produced by the Reborn company.
Michael was hoping that it would work as an enticing, alluring, and tantalizing look for the elites. Once they saw the cards, they would want to collect it for themselves, as well as the cars that were in it.
He was sure that this was going to work. After all, even on Earth, rich people who had nothing to spend their money on would buy loads and loads of cars, even though they weren’t even using them. They were just being stored in their garages, acting as a trophy unit they could brag around with their friends.
Hmmm... what else... should I introduce golf?
It was an interesting idea. However, he was not sure since it would clash with their plans of someday introducing baseball to the Elite Society.
Michael then walked over to the manufacturing factory of their phones.
Right now, hundreds upon hundreds of Dwarves swung their hammers on their pallets as they molded Unity into serviceable units of power sources.
Mini Drones, which were positioned at the top of the processing line, would shoot out a Unity Gun, which would be caught and processed into the very battery for their phones, making them usable forever without the need for charging.
Michael then looked towards their engineer. "How’s it looking?"
The Yellow Mankey saluted him. "Supreme Leader, sir! We have implemented your suggestions, sir. And we have been able to make some adjustments to make it possible. Here is the prototype sir."
Michael was handed what seemed to be a rectangular black piece brick. But as soon as his fingers touched the glass, it suddenly lit up in a variety of bright colors, which formed into the symbol of the Reborn company.
A working touch phone!
They had finally advanced their technology enough to start producing smart touch phones! This was perfect for their plans in the Elite Society.
He was even planning on wearing a black turtle neck as he presented this new phone to the public as a sort of nod to its original founder. Its design was eerily similar to that phone, after all.
Except, instead of a fruit on the back, it had the ’R’ symbol of Reborn.
"Great job," he told them. "How soon can you start production?"
The Yellow Mankey looked at with a tight-lipped smile. "That’s the thing, boss. Mass-scale production is still a little bit hard for us. Most of our production lines are still dedicated on producing the old keyboard phones."
This new touch phone was going to be a lot more expensive than their usual phones. Meaning, it’s not necessarily going to be affordable by the normal citizens.
So, for the time being, he was going to keep on producing these keyboard phones so that even people who weren’t as obscenely rich as the Elite Society could have a phone on their own.
"We’ll only be able to produce them through our own hands," the Yellow Mankey said.
"That’ll be okay," he replied. "We’ll only need at most a thousand or so units ready by our opening ceremony."
As he said before, their strategy for this ceremony would be based on scarcity. The less there were, the more valuable they were, and the more their demand would skyrocket.
He was sure that the elites wouldn’t be able to have enough of these smartphones once he unveiled them.
Once he was done with that, he visited the Rebornian Construction Workers in the Bridge Chasm. They were working hard and pouring all of their effort in building this bridge. They were about 40% of the way finished.
"Supreme Leader!" a Satyr greeted. "Just as you commanded, we retrieved a few of our elite workers to be sent to the Upper Queens region for the construction of the race circuit and our new headquarters there."
Michael nodded, before looking at the workers carrying heavy steel beams and placing them on their designated positions.
There were a lot more demi-humans than before. "How’s the new hires?"
"They’re doing great, boss. They’re easily approachable and they work fast. Hahaha, and they’re not that bad at drinking either. They almost beat me in a drinking game the day before!"
These demi-humans were actually the demi-humans from the Chasm. The Nypmy Monarch and he had a little arrangement wherein he would make use of their workforce, in exchange for some materials and resources that would be sent down the chasm.
And right now, it had allowed them to spend a few workers in the Upper Queens region to start their new headquarters.
