Chapter 1400: New training space
Chapter 1400: New training space
It was very possible that people would be scheming against them during the soiree. They could either challenge them into another Sanctum Duel, or they could forgo that entirely and simply scheme against them in the shadows.
With the way things had gone, Michael was sure that the Worcester Company was going to do exactly that.
Although their two companies had yet to properly meet, a rivalry had already been set in stone in the shadows.
The Worcester Company had schemed against the Reborn company with the Ease of Vindication and the Western Pole companies. And even though it wasn’t public, Michael was now considering it as a formal warning.
And now, he was preparing for a war.
Not just a physical war, but a business war as well. They weren’t going to be allowing the Reborn company to enter into the Elite Society market so easily. They would do everything they could to make sure that they wouldn’t be able to make a proper foothold into the Upper Queens region.
That was truly the only way to stop Reborn’s inexorable momentum.
It had been proven that Reborn was powerful in the military. So, now, they were going to try a different tactic.
Of course, Michael and Castelle was ready for that. She had long been planning things out and making sure that their company was secure the moment they stepped foot into the Elite Society. With her unique Aubility Power, she was able to sense things that affected the company, as if they were her own limbs.
So, she would know when public perception against Reborn would plummet or not.
And right now, she was starting to see the seeds of doubt being planted into the Elite Society by the Worcester company. They were making use of their information networks to spread rumors and lies and facts, mixing up all of them to make sure that even the lies looked believable.
Of course, the Shadow Orcs were doing their own counter espionage, fighting against the rumors. But they could only do so much. What they really need was an explosive entrance into the scene, one that would blow away any kind of doubt in Reborn.
Michael then looked towards the Reborn Army.
Everyone was on high alert, and in high energy. They were practicing their swordstyles, doing drills, and increasing their camaraderie. At the very front was Caliburn, who was like a drill sergeant as he shouted order after order with seemingly no rest in between.
It was only when Michael appeared did Caliburn signal for the soldiers to take a rest.
"Michael! You’ve been busy, I see."
"I am," he replied. "How goes our soldiers?"
Caliburn nodded. "They’re progressing well. They’re really talented, these bunch of kids. Though, like I said, they will need more time to consolidate all of their teachings if they want to level up into the next stage of their training.
But I know that that’s not possible. With your expansion to the Elite Society soon, you’ll need all the military power you could get. That’s why I’m drilling these soldiers into shape, no matter how tired they are."
Michael appreciated Caliburn. He knew just how serious the matter was in the Elite Society. One couldn’t just challenge that market without proper preparation.
And perhaps military strength was the most important of them all. Without it, Reborn would be easy prey to the schemes and the plans that the Conglomerates and Upper Echelons had been planning.
"Actually, I’m here to offer you a solution."
Caliburn’s eyebrows raised. "Haha, another training method? Have you perhaps created another roller coaster for these soldiers to ride on?"
Michael shook his head. "No, it’s something better."
Then, Michael allowed his shadow to manifest into the ground. This shadow grew upwards, creating the shape of an igloo, before it descended back into the darkest pits of the ground.
In front of them was the very same black igloo that Michael obtained from the Antique.
Caliburn frowned. "What is this?"
"I think it’s better if you witness it yourself," Michael said.
He led the Lionheart Patriarch into the Black Igloo. Caliburn was flabbergasted as he saw the endless white space inside the igloo, which totally messed up his perception of space.
"What is this?"
"It’s a place for the soldiers to practice," Michael replied.
Caliburn nodded. "It is endless, I see. It will be good to practice some full-court positions and formations here. But we are not lacking in space back in the Nation of Reborn. Is it just purely for privacy?"
Michael shook his head. "Nope. This place has a very special property. It’s..."
Once Michael told him the truth, Caliburn’s eyes widened, almost popping out of his eyesockets. "WHAT?! I don’t believe it!"
Michael raised his hand. "Well, see for yourself."
He led Caliburn outside. And once there, they all looked towards the resting soldiers on the ground. "What are you doing?! I thought I told you to take a rest for only a minute."
All the soldiers looked at him, exasperated. They were still trying to catch their breaths. "But sir! We’ve only been resting for thirty seconds!"
Caliburn’s jaw dropped. He looked back at Michael, who nodded with pride. "See?"
Still in a state of disbelief, Caliburn checked the watch on his arm, which was a gift by Michael himself. He looked at the minute hand and made sure to memorize it.
Then, he took it out of his wrist and entered the Black Igloo alone.
Only a second passed before he exited out of the igloo again. Then, he immediately went to look at the watch, seeing that time had indeed only passed by for a few seconds.
"I was there for an entire ten minutes! Yet not even a few seconds passed here!" Caliburn exclaimed. "What the hell is that place?!"
"It’s a time capsule," Michael explained. "It’s a place for training montages."
"Huh?"
"Nothing, just an inside joke. But its true that you could use that space to train our soldiers for months on end, while only a few days pass here on the real world."
