Chapter 1406: Searching for new jobs
Chapter 1406: Searching for new jobs
Michael knew that Lima truly wouldn’t go that far. After all, she was his Clone. She wouldn’t do anything that he wouldn’t do. It’s just that she was... a little bit more pushy than his other Clones.
It seems that one of the side-effects of me giving Unity Armor to my Unity Clones is that they have a lot more personality in them than before...
He’d noticed it immediately. Alpha and the rest of the Unity Clones looked more... alive... than before. They were walking and talking with a lot more personality, as if they were truly different people that weren’t his clones.
Michael was actually glad with this. After all, the fact that he could impart more... life... into his Unity Clones meant that he was progressing with his Unity a lot more than he thought.
Is this what frankenstein felt like?
Doctor Frankenstein created life and it thrilled him. But of course, as the story went, Frankenstein’s monster ended up causing havoc in the town.
Michael, of course, was wary of his Unity Clones seemingly taking a life of their own. Maybe, they would one day defy his words and his commands. After all, that’s what the story was warning them about.
However, Michael knew that life was complicated. These Unity Clones were like... his children. Sometimes, children would be a lot rowdier than he would have wanted.
And Michael was willing to let his Unity Clones do that. He was willing his Clones to be their own persons, otherwise, he wouldn’t have named them at all. In fact, if he wanted to create mindless clones, he wouldn’t have made their faces different. He would have made them his perfect copy.
But instead, he gave them all their own faces with the hopes that they would one day earn their own independence.
After all, if he just all ordered them to stop being individuals, he would be nothing worse than the Ersatz who were creating mindless clones from humans. And he didn’t want to be them. Especially when it went against everything he stood for.
And so, he was willing to let his Unity Clones have their own life.
"Now... what to do with you guys."
Michael was now left with four more Unity Clones without their own responsibilities as of yet. Of course, he could just give them over to Alpha, and she would assign them to the different missions that the Unity Clones were doing all over the Nation of Reborn. Thwarting conspiracies, destroying marauder camps, keeping Reborn at peace.. Those kinds of things.
However, Michael really wanted these four clones to have the same job as Lima.
He wanted to one day have them become his instructors for the different soldiers in the Rebornian army. Each of them, wielding their own weapons.
The problem with this was that Michael still didn’t have a proper weapon style that he had copied. He got the spear from Draco. Now, he was just missing the Axe, the Bow, the Rapier, and the rest of the other weapons.
Where can I get those swordstyles?
Of course, he could just use the swordstyles that were present in the public. However, he knew that those weren’t enough at all. He needed something a little bit more powerful, something akin to Draco’s bloodthirsty spear, or the Lionhearts’ Eternal Flame sword.
Should I have the Dragonborns teach their own styles to my army?
Immediately, Michael shook his head. The Dragonborns were way too talented. Their weapon styles, their Way, only worked because of their unique talents and their circumstances.
Normal, ordinary soldiers wouldn’t be able to exert the same proficiency as Sheina using her Bow. After all, she was a Dragonborn, someone who had a totally different physique than humans and other demi-humans. And second of all, her bow style was complemented perfectly by her Aubility Power.
It wasn’t meant for an army to use, and better of just be something that Sheina used.
Wait... I could get them from the Order of the Heavenly Knights.
It was actually a perfect idea. The Order of the Heavenly Knights already had different ’orders’ where they specialized in the different Ways of the Weapons.
The Way of the Sword, which was headed by Eldea. The Way of the Axe, which was led by Kruger, the Orc. The Way of the Rapier. The Way of the Shooter....
If he could somehow find their unique styles, he could copy them for himself and he could then teach it to his Unity Clones.
The problem with this was that it would be hard to do that unless he made a formal Sanctum Duel request with the Order themselves. Michael was confident about their powers, but he wasn’t that overconfident to wage war against one of the two biggest organizations in the entire world.
At least, not yet and without good reason.
"For now, you guys should join Alpha in protecting the Nation of Reborn," he said to the four new Unity Clones. They nodded, before bowing.
Alpha also bowed towards Michael, before then turning towards the four new clones. "Follow me," she said.
And so, they left.
...
...
...
Alpha stopped as they reached the private compounds of the Unity Clones. "This will be where you spend most of your time unless I call for you."
Mike turned towards her, frowning. "Why shall I wait for your instructions? Our creator has already told us to protect the Nation of Reborn. He didn’t explicitly state that we have to report to you."
November crossed her arms. "I agree. We are clones of our Creator. None of the clones are more ’powerful’ than the others. We are all equal."
Alpha looked towards the four clones with an impassive look on her face.
Then, she breathed out quickly. "Ahh, these newbies. So ignorant, so arrogant. I am the leader of the Unity Clones because our creator has given me the responsibility long before any of you were created.
And you say that no one is more powerful? Would you like to try that out?" Alpha’s eyes glimmered with a golden light as a brief wave of Nascent Influence emanated out of her.
