Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1410: Metallic circle

Chapter 1410: Metallic circle

Michael was very hesitant to tell Rivet about the ’Cube’. After all, it was something that he got in the Antique Island. And he guessed that it was some kind of remnant from the Ancient Era.

Now, he knew that the Guild of Arcana was very much interested in all things about the Ancient Era. They were kind of like a museum, in a way. And he was afraid that if they knew about the ’Cube’, they would take it away from him in order to study it for themselves.

He trusted Rivet. She wouldn’t betray him like that. However, he still didn’t want to give her the opportunity to shatter his trust.

On the other hand, he also wanted to get her favor. After all, he was asking for her signature medallion. And Aetrox warned him that getting a medallion was no simple matter.

A Mystic Master giving their medallion was the same as giving their own reputation on the line. If Michael ever went berserk and used the medallions he got for nefarious reasons, then those Mystic Masters would be the one in trouble.

But... this ’Cube’ is way too important...

And so, he decided to keep it a secret.

"Sorry, it’s proprietary information," he told her.

"I get it," Rivet said, scrunching her grease-tainted nose. "Urgh! I’m just so frustrated not knowing how something works!"

Michael, feeling bad, decided to give her the blueprints in order to create an actual internet. One with the large undersea cables and cell towers that people from his previous life used.

He conjured a book and let her see all the ideas and mechanical concepts used in such a project.

"This is a book that explains how the Internet works without using my secret proprietary technology," he said.

Immediately, her eyes widened.

"YOU CAN USE MAGIC?!"

"Oh, yeah. I can."

Rivet looked at him with open jaws, unable to close them out of pure shock. "What.... What... what do you mean, oh yeah, I can?!"

Michael eventually told her about his Supreme Talent, and how he had an innate connection with all eight fundamental mana in the entire world.

And once she learned about this, she couldn’t help but gasp and fly around in complete and utter shock.

"This is big news!!!! A Supreme Talent?! No one has ever seen one born as a human... do you know what this means?!"

Michael shrugged. "I guess? Some people told me about what happened..."

"What happens is that you will someday become the leader of all of humanity! Well, at least, you’ll have the power to do so.

Now everything is starting to make sense. Your talent, your intelligence, your innovative ideas... No wonder everything you do seems to create a revolution!"

Michael then told her; "Please don’t tell this to others."

"Oh, of course I won’t. This kind of thing should be kept in your hands only."

She was, of course, cognizant of all the possible things that could happen once people found out that Michael had a Supreme Talent. It could create chaos within the entire human race! And not in a good way.

Rivet was so shocked that she completely forgot about the book about the internet.

"Does anyone else know about this?"

Michael nodded and listed out the people he told the truth to.

"Seberus?! I knew that old man was sketchy. He always seemed so... proud about you. I always thought it was just because of your talent in magic. But it turns out, he knew about this..."

"About my talent in magic," Michael said, quickly diverting the focus of the conversation back to what he wanted to get. "I’m actually planning on becoming an 9-star wizard too..."

"ALREADY?!"

Michael said, appeasing Rivet’s words. "Yes, and for that to happen, I will need to do a lot of research. However, all the things that I wanted to learn will be in the Guild of Arcana’s secret library."

As soon as he said that, Rivet immediately sobered up and understood what he was trying to say. "You want my medallion signature..."

Michael nodded. "I just need yours and Seberus, and I will be done."

Rivet thought about it for a second, before nodding. She conjured out a silver-colored magic circle and embedded it into a single piece of wood lying around in her Pocket Dimension.

Then, she gave it to Michael.

"I better not hear that you stole from the library, okay?" she said to him.

Michael gave her a reassuring smile. "Just read. Got it."

Rivet then sighed. "I need to cleanse myself after hearing about all of these things. Good luck with your endeavor. Oh and I’ll take this book and read it as compensation for that medallion, okay?"

She waved around the Internet Book in her hands and said goodbye to Michael as he teleported away.

Immediately, Rivet went back down into her abode in New Sparta and relaxed in her bed made out of spare metal parts.

She began to skim through the contents of the book, hoping that she would begin to understand how the phones were able to communicate with each other despite the large distances.

And as she read through the text, her brows began to furrow.

"... an airplane? What the hell is that?"

...

...

...

Michael returned back to the Nation of Reborn and immediately visited Seberus’ home.

Now, he just needed the old man’s signature and then he’ll be golden! He could finally go to the Guild of Arcana’s secret library and learn the secrets of Unity!

Seberus was not in his home. Instead, he was sitting on a bench in the park, feeding a few pigeons with crumbs of bread.

"Seberus! You’re back!"

The Mystic Master was out of their Nation for the last few days, which was why Michael visited him last amongst the other Mystic Masters he knew.

And immediately, he saw that there was a somber look in the Mystic Master’s eyes.

"Seberus?"

"Ah, Michael... I just got back from the Guild of Arcana... and things have changed..."
