Chapter 1416: Important people
Chapter 1416: Important people
Michael’s eyes then inevitably wandered over to a strange group of people.
They’re the heirs of Sinclair’s Elixir Conglomerate...
This Conglomerate was very different from the rest. After all, they didn’t operate based on familial ties. They operated based on merit. Only those who had performed well, and those who Sinclair deemed to be more talented, would be taken as the heir.
And because of that, they seemed to be in a good relationship with each other. There was no bad blood, seeing as they were the only heirs who didn’t seat away from each other. They all sat in the same round table, with conversations happening amongst each other.
All of them wore some kind of leafy clothes and very ethereal suits of cotton. They looked more like the traditional elves that were in fantasy.
They weren’t that interested in Michael. It wasn’t that surprising. After all, they haven’t made a lot of advancements in terms of medicine. At least, not those that were very public.
After all, the inventions of machines and medicine were two different things.
This place still operated within some kind of metric, some kind of standard which must be met before medicine could be sold.
The only ones that were in charge of this were Sinclair’s Elixirs. And Michael was still in the process of arranging things in order to sell them publicly.
Medicine was a hard thing in this world, after all. Before, magic could be used in order to quickly take away fever, infection, or any kind of disease. So, medicines like the antibiotic weren’t that powerful compared to his previous life.
So, Michael didn’t really need to sell much medicine.
It was only now when the need arose from out of nowhere. Now, with magic gone, healing became a luxury. Only those who can afford to rent the services of a Maugnetic who specialized in medicine could be healed.
That was where Sinclair’s Elixir made most of their money. They made a panacea. A one for all cure for all kinds of diseases. It was a pill that was made by the Maugnetics of their Conglomerate, infused with reality-altering powers in order to cure normal diseases.
But of course, it was expensive. And it wasn’t truly a panacea. It couldn’t cure everything. It was just like an antibiotic, that it could cure most things.
Should I start selling some antibiotics?
He seriously started to consider it. Perhaps he could start something with one of the heirs from Sinclair’s Elixir.
"BU TO TO! That seems to be the heir of the Vanderbilts," said Narito in his ear.
Michael then looked over towards a group of people at the very back of the ballroom. They stood out amongst all the royals in the room. After all, their blond hair made them look like they were a step above all the others. It made them easily identifiable as a Vanderbilt, and that had an implication that was hard to ignore.
He recognized a few faces. He remembered them when he had his first birthday party, when a lot of the Vanderbilt heirs were invited to celebrate his birthday.
They didn’t recognize him. They would have never thought that the grandchild from the most ignored heir of Yze would one day turn out to be their most dangerous rival.
It was at this point that Michael’s eyes then turned towards a person in the very corner.
Their eyes were very sharp as they looked towards Michael. It was very calculated.
Michael didn’t even have to ask the Shadow Orcs to know who he was.
Worcester Oscorpe. His current opponent and the 1st ranked heir of the Oscorpes.
He was the only one amongst their Conglomerate heirs that was present in this ballroom. Which was weird, considering that Michael invited all of the heirs.
However, only Worcester was present.
It was as if he was saying that only he was allowed to fight Reborn. Surrounding Worcester were his generals. The Nascent Spirit soldiers who were emanating a kind of danger that was very evident in this ballroom.
Now, there were many Nascent Spirit cultivators in this room right now. However, only they were the ones who were so obviously showing their powers.
It seemed that they knew that they were going to be the subject of Reborn’s attention.
They were basically saying to him: ’challenge us if you like.’
Michael ignored them. Right now, he had no plans of dealing with them so up front. Right now, he was making his preparations.
All of this, everything that they were doing here in the Elite Society, was a prelude to their eventual fight with Worcester. His Shadow Orcs were currently watching from the shadows, making sure that things went smoothly for now.
"RAH TA TA! We have detected the presence of a few Heavenly Knights," said Sasuki.
Michael then turned his attention to a few individuals who were sitting alone at their own tables. Their faces weren’t distinct. It was the weapons on their tables that gathered the most attention.
Its sharpness was something that was beyond this world itself. It was as if they would get cut just by looking at it.
Michael was very impressed. This was a kind of Sword Intent that was automatic. These Heavenly Knights weren’t actively using their Sword Intent in order to show off. It was something automatic to them, just like breathing.
From what he could see, it seemed that the Heavenly Knight of Spear, Rapier, Shooter, and Gauntlets were present in their ballroom.
Michael was happy they came. He was looking for them exactly, so that he could hopefully copy their swordstyles and implement them in his Unity Clones.
Of course, he couldn’t do so openly. It may incite their anger. He had to do it secretly, and while he was in a good standing amongst them.
"BU TO TO! Supreme Leader, we have detected new presences entering the building."
Michael looked to the side, beyond the walls, and into the environment outside. And there, he saw the mana signatures of Mystic Masters touching down into the grass.
