Chapter 1444: Hail of arrows
Chapter 1444: Hail of arrows
Sheina’s arrows pierced through thousands of soldiers in a single instant. They could do nothing to defend against the hail of arrows.
Even if they used their shields, the arrows would still pierce through them to head straight into their chests.
Even if their armors were made from the very best materials, molded by the very best blacksmiths, they were still unable to defend against the onslaught of arrows that Sheina rained down on them.
It was at this point that both of the generals looked at Sheina with furrowed brows. She stood at the highest peak of the buildings in Angora City, with her Mithril Artifact bow in hand.
"Hmph...an archer. She’s skilled. But she’s still very weak. Only a 9th stage Body Formation cultivator," said the 4th ranked general.
"Oooh! Can I kill her?" said the 5th ranked general.
"Yes. You better do it fast. We may have a lot of soldiers, but they’re dropping faster than flies because of that archer."
The 5th ranked general looked at Sheina and pointed her giant lance at her.
"Bye bye!"
Then, with a half-hearted thrust, a shockwave of power emanated from the tip of her lance and shot towards Sheina at an incredibly fast speed!
This forced Sheina into a choice. Either continue firing volleys of arrows towards the soldiers, or focus her fire on the shockwave and protect herself from that lance’s attack.
Both were terrible choices. If she chose to protect herself, no one would be able to protect the City anymore. The thousands upon thousands of Worcester soldiers would be able to charge onwards without anyone to stop them.
But if she chose to continue and protect the City, she’d be dooming herself.
And that was what she chose exactly. She didn’t put any attention towards the lance attack and simply fired arrow after arrow towards the soldiers.
Suddenly, blue lightning struck the ground right next to where Sheina was standing.
The lightning dissipated the lance attack, surpriing the generals watching above.
Still crackling, the blue lightning coalesced to form Jaku’s human form. He stood there, eyes frowning towards the two generals up above.
"Hmm.... he’s strong. That was a full attack from you. Yet, he was able to deflect it easily despite being only in the 9th stage of the Body Formation realm. This means only one thing. He has a Sword Intent."
"He... he.... HE’S HANDSOME!" the 5th ranked general screamed.
Both of them were admiring Jaku for two completely different reasons.
"Hey, can we not kill him? I’ll keep him captive after this."
"No. That guy is dangerous. He must be eliminated at all costs."
"But that’s what makes him so handsome! He’s so dangerous! So cool!"
While the two generals were bickering, Jaku turned to Sheina. "Can you take care of this? Urgh.."
"Lord Michael has assigned us to protect Angora City. And that is what you’re going to do," Sheina replied.
"But... but... but look at who we’re facing! They’re Nascent Spirit cultivators!"
Sheina frowned. "And so? We’ll use this to our advantage. And if we succeed, we may even get the chance to advance to the next stage."
"...that’s what I’m afraid of."
"..."
"I feel it, Sheina. If I fight them, I’m definitely going to advance to the Nascent Spirit realm. And I don’t want that!"
Sheina wanted nothing more than to smack her brother in the head. Unfortunately, she had to keep shooting her arrows at the soldiers.

Meanwhile, on the very bottom tip of the Royal Continent, the Nation of Reborn stood in front of a desert.
This was the very heart of the Reborn company. This was where most of their citizens lived in peace. Here, there was nothing but paradise for all.
That was, until today.
An army of 500,000 soldiers marched through the unending desert as they prepared for a total invasion of the Reborn company.
Accompanying them were three generals. Three Nascent Spirit cultivators. And not just any cultivator, but the very best of the best. They were the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ranked generals of the Worcester company.
Worcester had saved the best for last. He had made sure to use his strongest soldiers to destroy Reborn once and for all.
They were all told to destroy the factories, the farms, everything. Make sure that they won’t be able to rebuild everything anytime soon.
"This place... I didn’t think the rumors were true."
"How could they even build something like this in the desert? It doesn’t make sense."
"And this was all done by a kid barely in his teens? I do not believe it. Worcester was telling the truth. This company is being backed by the Ersatz Organization."
The Nation of Reborn was unlike anything they had ever seen. Buildings of metal soared to the skies, almost reaching the clouds themselves. Lights were everywhere.
People and demi-humans and beastfolks were strolling along together, as if there was no difference between them.
It looked like a totally different world.
"Do not feel sorry that we are about to destroy this place. It is for the good of the world," said the 1st ranked general.
He was an old man, with a well-trimmed white beard and short white hair.
"Our soldiers are still marching. Do we wait for them?" asked the 2nd ranked general. He was a young man in his early twenties.
"No need," answered the 3rd ranked general. She was a middle-aged woman. She embodied the persona of an old witch, with the robe and the witch hat. "All we need to do is use our powers to destroy this nation. The only reason that we brought our soldiers is so that no one here cna escape. They’re just here to chase after the stragglers."
The three generals donned their Nascent Spirit armor. Their powers were overwhelming, making the sands in the desert tremble as if there was an earthquake.
They were going to attack altogether and destroy the entire Nation of Reborn!
