Chapter 1454: Pursue

They had never seen or heard someone breaking through so fast. It simply wasn’t possible.

"How... how..."

Sheina looked down at the 4th and 5th ranked general. "I no longer want to be late. I was already late once... I’ll never be again."

There was a sense of sorrow in her eyes. And that emotion was empowering all of her new Nascent Armor and Influence.

It brightened up Angora City as if the sun itself had given a ray of light for it to be illuminated.

"Shit," the 4th ranked general cursed. He then pushed the 5th ranked general forwards, hurtling him towards Sheina at an extremely fast speed.

This was a surprise even to the 5th ranked general.

"Sorry," said the 4th ranked general. "You’re already halfway dead. I’m still alive. We need someone to escape and tell the others about what happened here. We need to exterminate the Reborn company before they truly grow even stronger."

And with those words, the 4th ranked general disappeared from sight. He had gone beyond reality itself, and simply made himself disappear from all kinds of detection.

In the flaps between dimensions, the 4th ranked general sped through the fabric at full force. Everywhere, strands of reality were unspooling around him. He ignored them and eventually chose a strand of reality the furthest away from Angora City, further away from the Nation of Reborn, and further still from the Royal Continent itself.

With a tug, the 5th ranked general then was suddenly pulled forwards back into reality. He found himself in an unoccupied jungle somewhere out in the middle of nowhere.

He was now on the other side of the world. He sat back down on the ground, and took a deep breath. It took a lot of his Nascent Influence to teleport such far distances.

Suddenly, his hair stood on end. He felt the presence of an eye looking down at him from somewhere in the skies.

He quickly looked around, wary of anything.

But there was nothing here. No one was pursuing him. Nothing could have followed him through that spools of threads of reality.

He was just overthinking himself.

Just as he was about to sit down again, that sensation became stronger. It became faster and faster, as if it was coming towards him!

It wasn’t long before he saw an arrow made out of golden light appear right in front of him.

It was headed straight for his chest. Feeling himself in mortal danger, the 4th ranked general immediately disappeared from reality and found himself back into the pages between destinies.

Behind him, the arrow pursued him still.

"WHAT?!"

He screamed, but nothing stopped the arrow from heading straight towards him.

He quickly grabbed onto any kind of spool that he could see. He teleported into an icy biome at the top of a mountain. But still, the arrow pursued him.

He disappeared again, tugging on a warm tropical place where there was nothing but the seas around him.

The arrow continued to get closer and closer to him.

It was at this point that the 4th ranked general began to panic. Wherever he went, the arrow followed him! And he knew it was because of that eye! That eye was looking down at him, watching him run around in circles!

Realizing he couldn’t outrun it, he turned around and used his sword to deflect it.

It passed through the blade as if it was made out of nothing, before heading straight into his heart.

Blood spurted out of his mouth. The force of the arrow pushed him backwards, through the spools of reality, before he was spat out back in Angora City.

He looked up at the skies and saw Sheina looking down at him with an impassive expression.

"Wait—"

A rain of arrows pelted his entire body, destroying his body, mind, and soul completely.

And just like that, the 4th ranked general was dead.

The 5th ranked general, who was watching this from afar, felt his blood completely turn cold. He looked at Sheina with fear and anger in his heart.

Then, with the rest of his remaining strength, he charged at her. If the 4th ranked general couldn’t run away from her, then he certainly couldn’t either. So, he had to fight or die. And he chose to fight.

He raised his sword and lunged at Sheina. An arrow perfectly arrived from up above, perfectly deflecting his sword strike away from Sheina.

He performed a few more slashes. A few more sword skills. But each one was seemingly deflated by a stray arrow that came out of nowhere.

"What?! How... how is this possible?!"

Sheina didn’t answer. Instead, she just remained in the skies, looking down at him with an impassive expression.

Then, she said. "Are you done?"

"What?" the 5th ranked general uttered. He looked at Sheina and then realized that she wasn’t talking to him. She was talking to someone behind him.

He quickly turned around, seeing a dark-haired young man wearing pure blue lightning as his armor. It was ever moving. Like miniature dragons made out of electricity slithering around his body and protecting him from harm.

"You... you..."

Jaku had also turned into a Nascent Spirit cultivator.

And it was at this point that the 5th ranked general realized something. He turned towards Sheina, horrified. "You... you were just delaying it so that he could advance!"

Sheina shook her head. "I was not delaying. I was simply following what I foresaw. And I foresaw your death in three... two..."

The 5th ranked general immediately used all of his Aubility Powers, all of his Nascent Armor, all of his Nascent Influence to create a protective bubble of space around himself.

Then, a few seconds passed.

"Haha! I’m not dead!"

With this bubble intact, even that lightning-filled armored young man wouldn’t be able to touch him.

But then, lines started to appear around his body. He had been perfectly bisected into cubes.

Soon after that, each individual piece slid off of his body.
