Chapter 1463: Strength
Chapter 1463: Strength
All over the Nation of Reborn, people began to celebrate and cheer for the successful defense against those insane invaders.
There was confetti and drinking and raucous cheering and laughing all around.
Still, deep down, these people were feeling a little bit down. After all, they had just almost lost their own lives. In fact, their homes were destroyed! The town they loved the most was torn into pieces and destroyed into rubble.
It was so very close. If the Rebornian Officers weren’t there to defend them, if they weren’t strong enough to win against those Worcester generals, then they wouldn’t be able to celebrate right now. They’d be dead.
And so, they drowned all of those thoughts and worries on the back of their mind, replacing them with drinking and merry cheering.
It was at this moment that a shadow emerged from the ground. It appeared underneath every single Rebornian in existence.
Hundreds of thousands of them emerged in front of every single citizen of the nation. Beyond the Parched Lands, beyond the Kings region, the citizens of Angora City, Batchrock Town, Neo Orcus, and all the other territories of Reborn were suddenly visited by a strange shadow tendril.
This tendril looked up at them and asked them a simple question.
"Do you want to be strong?"
It was a question that echoed in every single person’s mind. It made them believe that there was nothing here but them and the shadow right in front of them.
Of course, there were those that immediately said yes. Gaining power was all they ever wanted. However, talent was not on their side. They were born deficient of that luck from the goddess, making them mediocre in life. So, when presented with the opportunity to become stronger, they jumped at the chance.
But for others, the answer was a lot more complicated than it first seemed. After all, not everyone wanted to be strong.
Some wanted to be beautiful. Some wanted to be fast. Some just wanted to be comfortable. Or some just wanted to be rich.
But if they were to look deep down within themselves, then they would see that they did want to get stronger. They had to get stronger if they wanted to achieve that dream of theirs, no matter what it was.
You had to be strong if you wanted to become a good chef. You had to be strong if you wanted to become a good writer. You had to be strong if you wanted to become a good musician.
The list went on and on. That was why even non-combat professions could become strong. They could become Nascent Spirit cultivators, as seen with Kong.
It was because strong didn’t just mean physical. It also meant of the mind. Of the heart.
And so, the answer to that question was a resounding yes. Everyone in Reborn had a desire to be strong.
That was because Michael had instilled within them something innate. Something that had inspired them in the first place.
He had told them that he would make their lives comfortable. He told them that he would make the lives of everyone in the world comfortable. And they couldn’t help but believe in that. They wanted to help him achieve that.
So, they had to be strong as well. That sense of unity was what allowed everyone to answer the question: ’Do you want to be strong.’
"YES."
As soon as every Rebornian said those words, the shadow formed up into a globe, before washing away to reveal a flaming sphere of metallic liquid.
It was a GodForge piece. Just enough for a person to achieve the 1st rank of Body Formation realm.
Michael commanded these GodForge pieces to move towards his citizens.
And soon, those flaming liquid drops began to shoot towards the chest of his citizens. Then, they became entangled into their hearts, transforming them from a mortal, into a Maugnetic.
Now usually, this kind of thing was impossible. There was a reason GodForge pieces were only given to people with good enough talent.
GodForge pieces usually rejected being transplanted into the hearts of a person with a mediocre talent, and would usually kill the person in the process.
And despite the unusually high rate of skilled workers in Reborn, there were a few who were not that skilled at all. If they were given GodForge pieces normally, there was no doubt that they would die in the process.
But even with that, Michael gave them an opportunity to become strong by giving them a GodForge piece.
He spread out his Nascent Influence and made them adapt. He use their own strength and willpower to make them strong. The fact that they said yes, was a form of strength after all!
And so, it wasn’t long before every single Rebornian Citizen in the world felt a strange new sensation in their heart.
They felt warmth spreading all around them. And not just that, but they felt that warmth give them strength. It allowed them to see things better. Hear things better. And perceive things better.
They all looked around each other in wonder. They felt like they were looking at a completely different world.
Was this what Maugnetics see all the time? A world filled with these powerful wisps of force that came and went like the wind?
They then looked up, towards the Chiefs of Staff and the officers of Reborn.
Sheina. Jaku. Umisu. The Shadow Orcs.
Looking up at them now, these citizens realized just how powerful their officers were. It was only now that they had gained this new filter in their vision that they finally understood just how strong they truly were.
These people were now Maugnetics. They were now past the stage of mortals. And yet, against these figures up in the skies, the citizens felt like they were still mortals. They still felt like they were ants looking up at the gods.
And it was at this moment that a voice resounded in their heads.
