Chapter 1465: News about Reborn
Chapter 1465: News about Reborn
Despite everything that had happened, the reception for Reborn was splendid. Everyone loved their products. In the brief moments where they spent a very comfortable time in the Rebornian’s VIP box filled with electricity, running water, entertainment, etc., they had learned to love to live as a Rebornian.
And so, there were many of them who wanted Reborn to immediately establish their territory in the Elite Society.
"We also have a Duke requesting a meeting with you. He wishes to help you pass through all of the bureaucratic stuff so that you can immediately establish an electric line all over the Elite Society," Castelle said.
Michael was very glad to hear that. With the help of a duke, they wouldn’t need that much leverage to get what they wanted.
All in all, everything was going in the right direction for the Reborn company. They had their business, they had their transformation, and they had their revenge.
There was just one thing left. Justice.
There was one other person colluding with Worcester that had yet to be culpable for any of the crimes he had committed.
And that was none other than Lucy, the newest Mystic Master of the Guild of Arcana.
Lucy was working with Worcester. The two planned to sabotage the racing circuit in order to progress their own agendas.
And when Worcester was outed to be the very mastermind of the racing circuit, ’pretending’ to be from Ersatz organization, Lucy was quick to separate himself and throw Worcester under the bus.
That was why Lucy was able to come away from this whole thing unscathed.
Now, he had returned to the safety of the Guild of Arcana, thinking that he had been able to get away from this scott-free.
But not anymore.
He immediately looked through his own memory, before he conjured a simple USB stick from his shadows.
Then, he immediately went over to Sheina.
"Can you publish this everywhere?"
His trustworthy secretary didn’t even ask him any questions before she immediately said yes. "Whatever you need, Lord Michael."
Then, he relaxed for a little bit. He just couldn’t wait to see the look on that guy’s face.
...
...
...
Meanwhile, in an undisclosed location, a few people had gathered in the shadows.
"This is not good. The Reborn company has gotten its teeth sunk right into the Elite Society."
"There’s nothing we could do about that. Their influence and their strange ways will have eventually seeped over to the Elite Society. We were playing a losing game."
"True. It is still good that we were able to get a few more followers for Lucy because of this."
The hooded figures were none other than the Mystic Masters of the Guild of Arcana. And right in front of them was Lucy himself, who wore a white robe and didn’t have anything to obscure his face.
"Yes. All in all, we came out of it on the better side," Lucy said. "It is a shame. If Worcester had succeeded, the Racing Circuit would have been in total and utter chaos. Destruction and death would fill the place there.
It would have been the best way for me to show off my skills. People would have been amazed at how I healed them from this tragedy.
But it doesn’t matter now. Now, we plan ahead. Now, we lay low for a little bit while we let the fire of Reborn settle down.
Right now, it is not a good idea to go against the current."
All of the other Mystic Masters nodded in that regard. A few seconds of silence passed, before someone knocked on their door.
"Enter," said Lucy.
A young scribe walked in with a scroll and bowed. "I have come bearing news."
Lucy nodded and took the scroll from the boy before quickly unfurling it. Once he read its contents, he frowned lightly.
"Hmmm..."
"What is it?’ asked the robed Mystic Master.
"It’s about the Reborn company. We know that something happened to their Territory. But our informants weren’t able to discover the specifics," Lucy replied.
"Worcester pulled out all of his army from his territory. Our informants last saw them heading over to Reborn."
"Yes. It is very likely that Worcester had them attack the Reborn territory while keeping their leader, Michael, busy. He ended up dying in the process. But I wonder what happened to his army."
"They must have destroyed the territory, have they not?"
It was at this point that Lucy frowned. "That’s the thing. Our informants were able to ascertain that the territories of Reborn remain intact."
The Mystic Masters in the room could not help but be skeptical.
"That cannot be!"
"Worcester’s army is in the millions. His soldiers are trained in the Oscorpe Conglomerate camp."
"And he has ten Nascent Spirit generals with him. There was no way they wouldn’t have razed the entire property to the ground."
Lucy then showed them the scroll. "See for yourself. Our informants say that the towns, cities, and territories are still standing. No sign of being damaged at all."
"Could it be an illusion?"
"No... our informants are filled with our power. They will be able to see through tricks that big."
"Then how is it possible?!"
It was at this point that even Lucy himself was starting to feel that something wasn’t right. It didn’t make sense that the Reborn company was able to survive this attack.
He thought that the Reborn company would have needed to recuperate their strength in the Elite Society. But as it turned out, they didn’t need to. Their own base was safe and sound.
"We don’t know, and we don’t need to know," said Lucy eventually. "The other Conglomerates will be curious themselves. We will just let things progress as they are, and Reborn will meet their demise sooner or later. We don’t have to worry about it too much."
And it was at this point that another boy knocked on the door and came inside the room with a lot of urgency.
