Reborn As The Minor Villain In A Romance Fantasy Novel

Chapter 219: Top Ten?

Chapter 219: Top Ten?

"Can we somehow see what’s going on down there?" Vanessa asked as she floated beside Luna, who was tapping on the holographic tab attached to her wrist.

Every few moments a bright laser shot upward from under the red water, cutting the sky, and the entire group kept flinching each time, desperate to know whether Lucius was still winning or whether something unexpected had happened.

The red sea rippled constantly, bubbles rising in frantic bursts as if the ocean itself feared whatever battle was happening beneath it.

"On it..." Luna muttered in a focused voice.

The P40’s eyes lit up with a soft blue glow, its systems adjusting to underwater vision. Luna tapped a few more commands.

"The feed is ready... but if we want everyone to see the fight clearly, we’ll need to stream it on our phones."

She turned her head and raised her voice so the entire group could hear her over the waves slapping against the wooden barricade.

"Connect to the P40’s network and stream the fight!" Luna shouted.

She already had her own phone out while the drone glided down, dipping toward the surface of the blood sea.

When it touched the water, it didn’t hesitate... it dove straight in and vanished under the red foam.

A moment later the screen lit up, and the entire party gasped.

The Octopus drifted through the murky blood water slowly, its body was swollen and trembling.

Several tentacles had already been eviscerated by space, leaving gaping holes where the limbs had once been attached.

Dark plumes of blood drifted upward like smoke in the water. It continued sinking toward the deeper side of the sea, but the remaining twenty tentacles writhed violently, lashing at Lucius from every direction in a frenzy.

Lucius only grinned.

He shot through the water without effort, his speed slicing clean paths as the pressure bent around him.

Each movement cut tentacles in half with nothing but the force produced by his passing body. Severed limbs drifted like falling trees.

[@FrostbiteFeline: Lucius is moving like the Prime Grim Reaper]

[@SeaSaltSinner: This dude is not human]

[@BigTacoLover33: LOOK AT THE SPEED]

[@MoonlitMera: I blinked and three tentacles disappeared]

[@H34rtstopper: bro is casually swimming like it’s a pool day]

Lucius landed on top of the Octopus’s massive eye membrane, using it like a platform even though the monster thrashed hard enough to send shockwaves through the entire sea.

The eye suddenly glowed, and before anyone could react, it fired a laser beam point-blank at Lucius, the crimson light engulfing everything.

Lucius raised one hand.

The beam exploded into split channels, bending around him like scattered disco lights... except each ray was strong enough to kill multiple Awakeners instantly.

Light bent and ricocheted wildly, tearing through the water.

One beam nearly grazed the drone.

[@StitchKingdomOG: HE’S HOLDING THE LASER WITH HIS BARE HAND]

[@BunniMilkTeaa: BRUHHHHHH]

[@LuciusSlanderClub: Nah this is hacks]

[@SpicyChurroFiend: My eyes aren’t processing what they’re seeing]

[@Gloompocket: even the drone almost died 😭]

Lucius pressed his palm against the strong membrane of the eye, pushing deeper into its surface.

Mana surged wildly inside the pupil and its glow became unstable and frantic.

The Octopus tried desperately to retract the mana, to suppress whatever was happening, but it couldn’t. Its own energy spiraled out of control.

’Abusing these pieces of Dimensium is like my favorite thing,’ Lucius thought, watching as the Octopus’s entire body lit up with unstable mana. ’I should tank this explosion for more aura...’

[@EruditeHavoc: The whole thing is gonna blow!!]

[@P1xelatedFairy: LUCIOUS GET OUT OMG]

[@AlienFeetCollector: bro is farming EXP like this is a game]

[@HolyMango: this is insanity]

[@VanillaSpice69: MOVE BEFORE IT BLOWS U IDIOT]

Vanessa clutched her hair as she watched the swelling body on the screen.

’Can’t he just use space to cover the explosion?!’ she thought, biting her lip until it hurt. She kept glancing between the drone feed and the rippling sea, waiting for the worst to happen.

The Octopus’s body swelled violently, its skin stretching to the limit. The head ballooned grotesquely. Its mana was going berserk.

The drone slowly drifted upward in the water, as if trying to pull back safely. It wasn’t fast enough.

The monster detonated.

The explosion was instant and brutal... an underwater shockwave erupted outward, smashing the drone and sending it spinning like a broken toy.

Cracks formed across its casing as it burst out of the water and tumbled in the air. Luna dove forward and caught it tightly.

The ocean itself parted from the force. A geyser of blood water shot skyward, spraying monster flesh, bone fragments, and terrible heat into the air.

The wave of wind tossed everyone backward even through the space barrier.

The only person not inside Lucius’s protected barrier was Supreme Man.

A massive chunk of the Octopus... something that looked like its swollen brain shot across the sky like a cannonball. It slammed directly into Supreme Man with incredible speed.

He didn’t take it well.

The mass exploded into actual brain matter upon impact, splattering everywhere and launching Supreme Man into the blood sea like a ragdoll.

[@OceanicWitch: SUPREME MAN GOT HIT WITH A WHOLE BRAIN 😭]

[@MetalPipeSFX: bro caught the biggest L of 2025]

Grimm shielded his eyes as the wind finally settled. Water rained back down in waves. The fog of mana slowly faded.

"Is... Boss alive?" Grimm asked nervously, trying to see through the thick mist.

"He most surely is," Minerva said confidently. She pointed forward before anyone else reacted, and the drone adjusted itself to focus.

Two hands appeared first, gripping the edge of a floating tentacle like someone climbing out of a swimming pool.

Then Lucius pulled himself up, hair soaked but perfectly swooshed back as he flipped it with one hand like the explosion was simply an inconvenience.

His body was completely exposed from the waist up... his shirt was gone, his trousers burned into shorts and the camera absolutely lingered.

[@SunsetBloomz: HE LOOKS SO GOOD OMG]

[@DirtyDuchessX: I’m making this my wallpaper]

[@SwordMuncher: bro’s literally glowing]

[@PillowyDream: HE’S SO FINE WHAT]

[@H47ty: damn that BULGE tho]

[@LioraRomanoffOfficial donated $200,000]

[@GoddessOfGreed: 200K???]

[@PleaseImPoor: That donation was bigger than my rent for 3 years 😭]

Lucius sat down casually on the floating tentacle, breathing evenly like he had taken a short swim instead of surviving an A-rank monster explosion.

His clothes were practically gone, and with the torn shorts, the bulge was... noticeable.

Minerva blinked slowly and her face was heating up.

’He’s more endowed than a lot of dragons too...’ she thought, suddenly reconsidering her future mating plans. Maybe choosing a human wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

...

The Stream was turned off moments later.

Rita now floated in front of Lucius, her clothes fluttering. Her eyes scanned up and down his bare torso, staying far too long for anyone who wasn’t down bad.

"How does your body feel?" Rita asked softly as her hand landed on his shoulder.

Her fingers trembled at the warmth radiating through his skin.

’He hasn’t given me any warmth today... I need it.’ She thought as her pupils dilated just a bit. If they weren’t outside, surrounded by allies, she would’ve wrapped both arms and legs around him like a koala.

"I feel great," Lucius replied. "I used space to stop the damage at the last second, but I couldn’t save much of my clot—"

He finally looked at her face.

She was drooling.

"Rita, close your mouth."

"O–oh..." She jerked slightly, wiped her lip with her sleeve, and pressed her lips together in a thin line.

She placed her glowing palm on his chest, channeling holy energy into him even though the healing wasn’t doing anything... he wasn’t injured at all.

She was just siphoning warmth like an addict.

"You looked... really cool back there," Rita said in a small voice. "I got wet watching you."

Lucius raised an eyebrow. Rita’s expression didn’t even flinch. She was 100% serious.

He chuckled.

"I’m happy to make you wet then."

Rita’s entire face exploded into red as she jerked her hand away and floated backward like she’d been hit by a shockwave.

Minerva appeared at his side almost immediately. "I was wet too."

Lucius didn’t even spare her a glance. "Yeah, probably. I’m sure you were spending your time taking a soak in the Blood sea."

Minerva froze. Her breath hitched.

’That’s exactly what I was doing.’ She thought with a stiff expression. How did he read her so easily...

"Whatever." Minerva muttered, pretending she wasn’t caught as she descended slightly to hover at eye level. "The others are waiting for you. Oh—"

She angled her head toward him.

"Lady Vanessa said I should ask if you got the core."

Lucius reached into his inventory and pulled it out.

A purple core shaped like a star hovered above his palm, glowing beautifully with swirling light inside it.

"Here," he said, tossing it lightly to Minerva. "Give it to her. Grimmaw defeated an A-rank monster... I think that puts us higher on the standings or something."

"Yes, most certainly," Rita said as she edged close to him again, already reaching for more warmth until Minerva slapped her hand away.

Rita pouted but continued speaking. "I’m guessing this will put you guys in the Top Five in the country."

"Top five?!" Lucius blinked. That was... faster than he expected. He turned to Rita. "We already got there?"

He hadn’t been checking the national rankings. He barely checked his messages unless someone forced him to.

"Ah? Yes," Rita nodded quickly. "You entered Top 10 about a week ago."

Lucius stared at her.
