Chapter 800: Future Plans
Chapter 800: Chapter 800: Future Plans
Xinyan shook her head: "The houses at the back will soon be demolished, and this road won’t be repaired in ten days or half a month. I’m thinking that by then, I should open a commission store over there. As the days get hotter, selling food, drinks, cigarettes, alcohol, beverages, water, and popsicles will surely lead to good business."
Xinyan had long noticed that this area was purely residential, and anyone wanting to buy anything would have to go two or three miles away. If a commission store opened here, the business would surely be promising.
Ling Tianze’s eyes lit up upon hearing Xinyan’s words.
He looked around the area and also felt that Xinyan’s idea was a good one.
For now, Xinyan didn’t want to expand too much. After all, the regulatory systems weren’t well-established yet. She only needed to ensure that there was visible income. In two or three more years, she could freely pursue what she liked.
She also thought about using these years to stockpile some properties, which would assure profit whether rented out or used for other purposes in the future.
In her past life, she hadn’t lived in Beijing, but she understood that making investments now, even blindly, wouldn’t go wrong.
The money in her space needed to become tangible investments in these years so it could be more reassuring in hand.
Chen Manjuan had already come over here to work with Xinyan in recent days, and she was very diligent about the job.
Now, the major affairs of the shop were looked after by Ling Tianze, while Chen Manjuan took care of the minor ones, leaving Xinyan quite reassured and relaxed.
Thus, she could still go to learn medicine from her master in the evenings without interruption.
After making a quick round and giving a few more instructions to the two, she left.
Returning to the small courtyard, she saw Granny Zhang chatting happily under the magnolia tree with Grandma Tong and Old Mrs. Chen.
Xinyan smiled and walked in: "Granny Zhang, I’m back."
Then she greeted the others around the stone table: "Grandma Tong, Granny Chen, are you chatting?"
Granny Zhang smiled and said: "You’re back. I’ve steamed some sponge cake. Wash your hands and have a piece to settle your stomach, and we’ll have noodle soup for dinner."
Xinyan had no objections and smiled: "Alright, you all continue chatting. I’ll prepare dinner tonight."
Granny Zhang didn’t stand on ceremony with Xinyan and simply reminded her: "There’s still some dough from lunch, which is perfect for noodle soup."
That made things even easier, Xinyan laughed and said: "Okay."
Grandma Tong and Old Mrs. Chen had daughters-in-law at home to cook, so they weren’t in a hurry to go back, and the three elder ladies quickly resumed their chat.
Old Mrs. Chen had been very grateful to Xinyan ever since her young lady started working with her, frequently visiting the courtyard to help Xinyan keep an eye on Granny Zhang.
Xinyan was quick in her movements, and just as she finished making the soup noodles, the daughters-in-law from the Tong and Chen families sent younger ones to call the two elder ladies home for dinner.
They left with smiles then.
Xinyan also smiled and said to Granny Zhang: "You don’t need to move; I’ll bring the food over."
Granny Zhang looked at Xinyan with a face full of kindness: "I must’ve done so many good deeds in my past life to meet someone like you."
Xinyan placed the food on the stone table: "Getting all sentimental now, are we?"
Granny Zhang looked at Xinyan: "I never dared to dream that there’d be a day in my old age where I’d live such a comfortable life."
Then, after a brief pause, her expression turned serious: "Even if your Uncle Shanzi doesn’t return, I’m no longer afraid of having no one to rely on in the future. I feel very secure."
Xinyan stepped forward to reassure her: "Don’t overthink it. Uncle Shanzi will surely return safely to your side."
Granny Zhang seemed to understand: "Yes, he will come back."
Xinyan knew that although Granny Zhang said that, deep down she desperately hoped for her son to stand before her. Hopefully, Uncle Shanzi’s mission would be completed soon, allowing him to return quickly and permanently stay by Granny Zhang’s side.
