The little guy didn’t immediately turn his head but leaned against his mom’s chest, sneakily glanced at the apple in Xinyan’s hand, then buried his face back into his mom’s arms.

Du Lingyun teased him: "Son, you’re supposed to be a little man, why’re you acting all coy?"

And then put her son down: "Come on, give Aunt Yan a greeting."

The little guy cooperated this time, leaning against his mom: "Auntie, hello."

His expression was incredibly cute.

Xinyan laughed and handed over the apple: "This is for you."

The little guy didn’t take it immediately but turned to glance at his mom.

Du Lingyun smiled at him and said, "If you want it, go ahead and take it, but what should you say to Aunt Yan?"

The little guy turned back, speaking in his childish voice: "Thank you, Auntie."

After saying that, he reached out to take the apple, then turned to his mom: "Mom, eat."

This whole interaction charmed everyone in the room.

Just as Cheng Liying, the mistress, was about to get up to take the apple to the kitchen to cut it, they heard Shen Guqing’s voice from outside: "Mistress, is Lingyun and Xuanxuan back?"

The voice reached inside before the person did.
