Chapter 833: Chapter 833: No Time Like the Present
Over the weekend, Xinyan came back from the research institute and first went to check on the shop.
Since posting the shop rental information, people have been coming to look at the shop one by one over the past few days, and three shops have already been rented out and are being organized.
However, one of them is opening a snack shop, which Xinyan initially didn’t want to rent to because she had just finished tidying up the shop. She was afraid that over time, it would become dirty and attract cockroaches.
But the couple running the snack shop made many promises, ensuring that they would restore the property to its original condition after their lease ended and promised to maintain cleanliness.
Xinyan didn’t want to have disputes with them later, so she directly drafted a contract with them, outlining everything clearly, and included a special clause giving her the right to reclaim the shop and not rent to them again if they failed to keep their promises.
Although the couple felt the terms were strict, they had no choice. They had been looking for a suitable shop for a long time and immediately liked this one.
The remaining two shops were rented as branch offices for a factory in Beijing, and once the office furniture was set up, it looked quite professional.
The two shops that Xinyan kept for herself had already started receiving goods.
Han Jingchen, being the father, naturally didn’t stand by idly. He found someone to help process the consignment store’s paperwork.
Xinyan thought that in another year or two, when they’re allowed to apply for individual business licenses, things wouldn’t be this troublesome anymore.
Since Ling Tianze had to prepare for college entrance exams, he couldn’t come over often even though he lived nearby, which highlighted Chen Manjuan’s abilities, prompting Xinyan to praise her internally.
Although Chen Manjuan didn’t have Ling Tianze’s great wisdom, she was hardworking and resilient with strong execution skills. Whether completing tasks given by her or assigned by Ling Tianze, she put her heart into them.
Everything she did, Xinyan witnessed with her own eyes.
Now all the consignment store procedures were completed, only waiting for the goods to be delivered in a few days.
Additionally, Jinxuan helped find someone to bring the ingredients for making sour plum juice and herbal tea, which should arrive in a few days.
Xinyan had long thought about it. Besides soda, there weren’t various modern powdered drinks yet. If they started brewing sour plum juice and herbal tea daily and bought a refrigerator, business would flourish.
Xinyan saw Chen Manjuan wiping the shelves: "Aunt Man, have the shelves been delivered?"
Seeing Xinyan coming in, Chen Manjuan beamed with a smile: "Yes, they have all been delivered. Ling Tianze came by last night and asked me to clean all the shelves because goods will start arriving these days."
Originally, Xinyan wanted to call her Sister Chen, but since she always called the elderly Mrs. Chen ’Granny Chen’ in the courtyard, calling Chen Manjuan "Sister" would mess up the hierarchy.
After discussing it, they decided to call her Aunt Man, as all the kids in the alley called her that.
Xinyan walked around the store: "Aunt Man, how’s the hiring going?"
Upon hearing Xinyan’s question, Chen Manjuan replied, "Once the news got out, many people came to inquire. Quite a few from the neighborhood seem good, and I’ve kept their information. Let me know when it’s convenient for you, and I’ll call them over for you to meet and finalize the candidates."
Xinyan thought for a while: "There’s no time like the present. Don’t bother with other tasks, just call them over to finalize the hiring, so you can lighten your load. We’re about to open, and having staff is essential."
Chen Manjuan responded, "Alright."
