Chapter 834: Recruiting Staff

Chapter 834: Chapter 834: Recruiting Staff

Swiftly, she took the cloth in her hand and the basin on the ground to the backyard to wash them, then came back out: "Wait a moment, I’ll be right back."

After saying that, she turned and quickly walked out of the store.

It didn’t take long before she came jogging back.

At the same time, she was followed by two women and a man.

Chen Manjuan said, "These three had left their information earlier, and a few others will come by shortly."

Xinyan chatted briefly with them. The younger woman had gotten married right after high school to avoid being sent to the countryside a few years ago, but since work was hard to find, she had been idle.

The other older woman had a husband who was not well enough to do heavy work. With two unmarried children at home, she had been gluing matchboxes and envelopes at home to supplement the household income.

Hearing they were hiring here, she came early to inquire.

As for the man, more needed to be said about him. He had been an engineer in the military but injured his ankle when a tunnel collapsed, leaving him with a limp.

After returning from service, his engagement fell through unexpectedly. He initially found a job as a warehouse manager at a textile factory, but because he was too upright, he offended some people, who colluded to get him fired.

Today, when Xinyan asked him questions, the man directly recounted his past.

After he finished speaking, he looked slightly anxious, worried that Xinyan would think he was useless, a grown man who was schemed against and lost his job.

In truth, after realizing he’d been set up, he had secretly dealt with those involved, as he had leverage against them. However, he didn’t want to tell this to Xinyan, fearing the young master in front of him might find him ruthless.

He wanted to work here because it was close to home and to take care of his father, who had broken his leg. His aging mother could handle basic care, but moving his father was indeed challenging.

His two elder brothers had moved to live at the factory after getting married, leaving only him and his sister at home. Since his sister was a girl, it was inconvenient for her to handle certain things.

He was very candid in sharing this with Xinyan, which made him uneasy, fearing that the young master would worry about him sneaking off during work hours.

Xinyan, observing his expression, didn’t immediately give him an answer but asked a few more questions before telling the three, "Go back and wait for notification. By the day after tomorrow at the latest, you’ll definitely get a final word."

After they left, another group arrived, but among them, only one caught Xinyan’s eye. The others immediately inquired about salary and benefits and looked at her with an ambiguous expression, possibly because of her young age.

There was no way Xinyan could hire such people; it would only lead to more trouble for herself.

After seeing off the last person, Xinyan wrote down the names of the first three and the promising-looking young man from the last group.

Then she turned to Chen Manjuan, "Aunt Man, can you discreetly find out about these people’s characters?"

Chen Manjuan took the paper and glanced at the names, "Okay."

She thought to herself, despite Xinyan’s young age, she had a sharp eye for people. She didn’t know the last one, but she sure had heard gossip about the first three.

But those were just hearsay from people who liked to gossip. Since Xinyan had entrusted her with this task, she needed to put in the effort to investigate carefully to prevent any troublesome individuals from joining Xinyan.
