Chapter 1951: Chapter 1945: The Real An Hao

"You’re the one who sees things clearly." An Hao sat across from Qin Xue, crossing her legs, her face full of confidence, showing none of the clueless sweetness they thought she had.

"Why aren’t you pretending anymore?" Qin Xue just smiled, looking at An Hao.

"Pretending is exhausting with someone as close as you, besides you’re my good friend, I don’t want to lie to you." An Hao pondered for a moment before speaking.

"Did something happen while we were away?" Qin Xue felt something must have happened, otherwise, how could a girl who had always been so cute and naive—hiding her true self under a mask of innocence—suddenly stop pretending?

"Some things did happen, but it’s nothing big. What brings you here? Tell me, maybe I can help." An Hao didn’t plan to go into detail with Qin Xue.

"My matters aren’t urgent. Let’s find a place to have some tea and talk about your stuff." Qin Xue could see the pain in An Hao’s eyes, she couldn’t just turn a blind eye. Besides, she had noticed signs of depression earlier and didn’t want her good friend to head down a path of no return.

Yes, in Qin Xue’s view, depression was a one-way street, because many people suffering from it, when it became severe, would head towards death. So she believed it should be addressed promptly at the first sign.

"Why won’t you just listen to reason?" An Hao didn’t know what to say to Qin Xue. She didn’t want to talk about her issues, but seeing the concern in Qin Xue’s eyes, she didn’t know how to refuse her.

"If you don’t want to talk, then don’t. Just walk with me, I want to find a storefront to open a dress shop and have you for company." Qin Xue saw the resistance in An Hao’s eyes and decided not to push her. Take it slow; her resistance indicates the matter isn’t simple.

"You’re such a strong woman, it’s hard to keep up with you." An Hao thought, luckily, she now had her own shop, and her thoughts were all focused there. Otherwise, she wouldn’t know how to while away the days.

"You’re exaggerating, hard to keep up with me? I just want to do something to enrich myself." Qin Xue wasn’t into something trivial; she had goals, so she wouldn’t do anything blindly.

"Yeah, I totally understand now when you said women need their own careers, it’s so important. Come on, I’ll take you to look for a suitable place." An Hao turned to grab her bag, asked the shop assistant to watch the store, and went out with Qin Xue to find a location.

"Of course, when a woman has everything, a man is just an accessory, dispensable." Qin Xue said with a smile after hearing An Hao’s words.

"Aren’t you afraid Molin will be heartbroken if he hears this?" An Hao envied Qin Xue; how many men in the world could pamper their wives like Chu Molin did with Qin Xue?

"Why do I sense some bitterness in your words? You also can have that, right? Isn’t Li Zhao good to you?" Qin Xue thought An Hao was just speaking off the cuff. She didn’t notice how An Hao stiffened upon hearing that but then pretended nothing was wrong.

"Yeah, good." An Hao looked forward and then linked arms with Qin Xue to go look at the storefronts.

"Qin Xue, why don’t you rent the place next door to me? Though it’s a bit pricey, we can keep each other company. Besides, you mean to open a wedding dress shop, right? This way, any customer needs could be solved in one go without changing locations. Wouldn’t that be great?" After accompanying Qin Xue to a few places, An Hao said this to her after some thought.
