Chapter 1958 - 1952 Finding An Hao
Chapter 1958: Chapter 1952 Finding An Hao
"An’an, are you okay?" As soon as Xiao Qi returned, he saw An Hao standing at the corner outside with tears streaming down her face. It turned out that after Li Zhao left, An Hao didn’t want to face her family in her current state, so she came out again and unknowingly ended up at Xiao Qi’s house.
"Qiqi, can I stay at your place for a day?" An Hao asked Xiao Qi, her eyes red-rimmed.
"Come in, don’t you have a key? Why didn’t you just come inside?" Xiao Qi reached out to pull An Hao into the house.
"I forgot to bring the key." An Hao hadn’t visited in a while, so she had left her key to Xiao Qi’s house at her own place. Since she hadn’t gone back, she didn’t have the key with her.
"Did something happen?" Xiao Qi hadn’t been home recently, and he had just returned from a business trip, so he was unaware of the situation between An Hao and Li Zhao.
None of the family had mentioned anything to him, so seeing An Hao in this state, Xiao Qi had no idea what was wrong.
"No, I just didn’t want to go home, so I thought I’d come stay here. But I forgot my key, and it felt so frustrating to be unable to get in." An Hao deliberately said something unreasonable.
"You, I gave you a key, didn’t I? What can I do if you don’t bring it?" Xiao Qi felt relieved to hear this; as long as nothing serious was wrong, he wouldn’t know what to do if it were.
But looking at her, it didn’t really seem like nothing was wrong. It seemed he needed to find time to have a chat with Li Zhao and figure out what was going on with An Hao.
And Li Zhao, how could he let An Hao come crying alone to him? Doesn’t he know it’s dangerous? Even though it’s daytime, a single woman crying and alone might attract trouble.
But seeing how An Hao looked, he knew he wouldn’t get any answers now. So he didn’t even bring it up.
"Qiqi, has the room you set aside for me been cleaned?" An Hao asked Xiao Qi.
"Yes, go rest for a while. We’ll go out for dinner later." Xiao Qi noted it was noon, so he wanted the girl to get some rest first.
"Okay, Qiqi, thank you." An Hao looked at her cousin who had always treated her like his own sister since childhood. She felt truly blessed, but she didn’t know how to tell him about her situation, nor could she bring herself to be honest and open about it.
"Silly girl, I’m your brother, don’t overthink it. Go in and have a good sleep, okay?" Xiao Qi reached out and ruffled her hair. He hadn’t done something so affectionate since her marriage, but seeing her so upset today, he wanted to comfort her.
So he consoled her like he used to when they were young. This girl lacked love, yet she wouldn’t say a word, keeping it all to herself, which broke his heart.
"Okay, you rest too, Qiqi. I’ll head to the room first." An Hao tried her best to control her emotions and not to cry.
But as she turned around, her eyes still brimmed with tears. She couldn’t cry in front of Xiao Qi; she didn’t want to make things awkward for him, but she didn’t know why she had come here.
"Hello, this is Xiao Qi. I’m looking for An Hao." After An Hao went into the room, Xiao Qi noticed the damp marks on the floor and paused for a moment. He then went to the living room and picked up the phone to dial The Lis.
He wasn’t foolish; it was clear that something had indeed happened to An Hao. Yet she hadn’t said a word about it, which was not like her at all.
Without second thought, he called The Lis, but the news he received next inflamed him with anger.
